So he has ears at the moment, except he doesn’t in the echo photo, and if I recall, not during the Cartel event. @Tank_Tsunami has suggested that they are a cosmetic/prosthetic he wears.

Definitely a cosmetic he wear.
As cool as they look they wouldn’t fit the skin color or saurian theme if they were real.

Maurice was introduced on Halloween giving the impression that those are his ears but each holiday he wears something different. those just happen to be his Halloween attire. hope it clears things up
