I didn’t see any reason you needed to delete your original post. You dissagree. That’s cool. It’s actually good to know someone isn’t experiencing the same thing. I’m glad you got gear to get you through the content. These are good things, not bad things.
I never had a problem with gear. Also I get alot of purples and legendarys everytime i play. And im playing normal mode mayhem 2.
I do see you’re point with the bugs and issues however lumping this game as a whole and comparing this latest patch to revisiting fallout 76. No. This game is so far up and above every other live service looter shooter on the market. It has a cohesive story(whether you like it or not). Varied builds for all 4 characters to play with. Over 40 hours of content(for just 1 playthrough). FREE updates, which yes people complain about the halloween event, and I do understand the frustration however if that were added to say Destiny you’d be paying at least 30 dollars for it. On top of the new raid which I think is one of the funnest activities I’ve ran out of any of these looter shooters. Does this mean there aren’t issues? Well no, there’s plenty of things to find that need fixing or ironing. But hands down Borderlands 3 is not only worth every penny spent but is also the far superior looter shooter on the market today.
I just farmed Graveward for the past hour and got probably 20+ legandaries.
Another question, what is your Luck stat at? I noticed Luck did increase the amount of, not only legendaries i see, however loot in general. Since leveling my first VH to 50 and investing 75 first ranks into my Hunter tree taking luck every time it was available it helped a lot. I didn’t even start a new character until I did that cause Luck is arguably the most important stat out of any of them. Cause sure you can do more vehicle damage but whats the point if you don’t see loot?
Laughably this is 1 of the only stats i havnt invested in as 15% wouldnt outdamage enemies or their vehicles, see them hop out to shoot or boost away in hopes that flaming pile wont break. (Gotta try and reenact a battle with princess tarantella where she launched me off the planet while climbing out)
“'ll relate, this little bit. It happens more than I’d like to admit” - The Offspring
The hunt takes flight, no, really!
This has happened to me at least a dozen times since the event launched (and subsequently has launched my characters…) - We do indeed have some interesting bugs. If I sat and reported every bug I encounter during gameplay, just since the event, I would literally not be able to play. There are few minutes of gameplay I’m not being adversely affected by the current crop of bugs that have been introduced. So far, none of them have been game-breaking. I’ve just been blown off maps, died from skills and gear that are not working, traveling to Sanctuary to get NPCs unstuck during quests, facing the wrong way when loading into maps, and not being able to hear NPCs dialog, and/or hearing sounds and dialog when I shouldn’t be. And having loot fall through the map. I don’t want to forget the generous donations provided by the Xbox Borderlands 3 community to restore lost gear, nor the ten golden keys Gearbox sent me to say “sorry” for the loot my Moze needed to work that fell through the floor of Sanctuary. (Lost her anointed Transformer and the only Deathless class mod I’d ever seen drop fall through the floor trying to trade items off so I’d have a little more backpack space to go farm more loot.)
Is the game worth the money? I think so, mostly. It’s starting to feel a little thin recently. I mostly would feel a lot better about things if the mid-game loot was better (usable), and they fix all the bugs they’ve recently introduced.
Currently 10.01% - I do see more items than the guy I play with that are better quality, and more legendaries when we play, at least a third more better quality loot items. Though with the Guardian Ranks not working, we wonder if it currently is actually helping at all. I think they are partially working. His view point is that they are completely dead from what he is experiencing.
However, I was seeing better items and more legendaries than he was before I ever put a single point into luck, and he had already spent some of his guardian rank on luck. It was only about a week ago now I spent any of my guardian rank in increasing my luck. I don’t know what his luck is at (but it sucks, even he comment his luck compared to mine severely sucks).
Unfortunately I have to agree that I’m just not having fun right now. I think the poor loot drops are just another bug they need to fix as it seems to have reverted to previously nerfed levels based on all the complaints
I haven’t played the game since the last patch, waiting for them to at least fix the guardian ranks.
The new class mod for Zane depresses me as I was hoping he would get some buffs but I don’t slide often and don’t want to regardless of all the artifacts that they put in the game to try to encourage me to.
Moze needs some other ways to regen health before I even want to play her.
Anyway I find myself looking for a new game to play at least until they can get things fixed. I may go back to Monster Hunter World as I haven’t played since before that last expansion, it looks to be pretty good.
I hope they can get things fixed up soon.
The stat bonuses are still active only the perks don’t work, which even some of them work just not all of them work. The most notable ones I see not working are the increased ammo on pickups from hunter, the aiming down sights while in FFYL not working as well as the crit explosion not working. Now if those three aren’t working its safe to assume more if not all from all 3 not working. However the luck you stack in stats will work. Any stat you invested in works. I have 13.55% luck with a relic that increases it further by 12% and with this I see lots of legendaries and have no problem getting money and loot to make up for ammo cost. But lets be real, after you max you’re sdu’s you do nothing with cash anyway. My problem isn’t so much the frequencies in drops so much as the quality of loot. Which in 70 tvhm m4 legendaries I sold all 70 cause, trash is trash lol.
Try a Transformer shield and a deathless artifact with a Bloodletter class mod. My Moze sits a little above 42K shield. Lighting damage (before the Blacksite patch) did indeed heal her shield. I’m using the Grenadier Hybrid I linked.
Still up in the air over Zane. Any of the viable builds I’ve seen are very, very gear dependant. However, I’ve been shocked at how well he’s doing so far at level 30ish. But there are certain situations mine just gets slapped down, and slapped down hard. I’ll have to see what I can build with him.
You could just finish the game, turn on Mayhem, then farm Graveward till you have good enough loot to confidently enter TVHM.
And RNG is RNG - I leveled both my Fl4k and Amara both post loot-nerf. My Fl4k was extraordinarily unlucky - only getting 2 Legendaries through the whole playthrough, both of which were designated boss drops (Quadomizer and Headsplosion). I didn’t end up using either of them, and levelled primarily using green and blue guns I found in vendors, Earls shop etc. I didn’t even bother farming for most part. My Amara was much more lucky - she probably got 10 Legendaries over the playthrough, including lots of random world drops. Sure, this gave her an easier time while levelling, but TBH you don’t need much to go through normal mode. At end normal mode, you can farm to your hearts content at Graveward, Traunt or Gigamind. Sure, the first 20 or so GW kills will be painful - but your gear will soon improve such that farming becomes much less of a chore, and soon enough you will have too much Legendaries that you start complaining about lack of Bank space instead.
Oh, hells yes. Quality quality quality! And the legendaries we’ve been getting have been duplicates like mad. Dozens (no exaggeration) of the icy stalker sniper rifle, the scream of terror shield, and the shotgun who’s name I’m drawing a blank on now from the event. The shotgun, we’ve found usable. We ran the Cloning Ghast Call and loved it (We never saw the Vindicator, but someone gave me one). We’d have been fine never seeing any of the dozens of the sniper rifle and found no use for the scream of terror. It didn’t seem to really work anyways.
My main thing about the gear is mid game drops being unserviceable trash. I’ve long since held that purple gear is all you’ve ever needed to complete the Borderlands games. I feel we really need better quality items mid game, badly. At least on normal campaign. My current observation is that there is a positive quality increase in loot in TVHM. I’m hoping once we get there things aren’t as bad as it currently looks.
As far as ive noticed, these luck stats (12.67) on relics are not a percent based boost, but instead a flat rate boost. Ive had better luck with drops running these than ive had with loaded dice vs none at all
Yeah I really wish there was more variety in what loot ghosts drop or even event drops, I’ve seen 1 AR since this event. The rest is all that you mentioned above
I already have bank issues, on my account, AND my alt account for storage. Legendaries isn’t the issue, it’s the gear during campaign and all the bugs currently. And since Blacksite dropped playing normal mode campaign has very much felt like a cross right between MM2 and MM3 TVHM. They have been stupidly hard. When the game dropped, the condition it was then, I’m pretty certain I could complete the campaign with nothing but green items, and even with the current drop situation I could pretty well fill that. But that isn’t how loot is now, the game is horribly bugged (not game breaking bad, just horribly bugged), and the mobs frequently seem buffed like mad. This is not just my opinion, but that of another veteran player I play with who is no stranger to Borderlands (He may have played more of it than I have, and I’ve played everything multiple times, except for the pre-sequel - literal 100% playthroughs on multiple platforms).
So in order of interest - Bugs, Loot Quality/Exceedingly Poor Drops/Gear Hardship campaign-pre TVHM. I’m desperately hoping we see better items once we get through this normal playthrough and hoping I can bank enough epics to keep our underleveled alts geared combined with new items we find. We both really only have one additional character each to potentially level after this, if we don’t get burned out and go do something else, which is very possible. There’s a lot of titles out there. We’re just both pretty big fans of older 2K titles, Gearbox and Borderlands.
Yeah, we found the event rifle. We each kept one, but we don’t use them. Close, but not quite a go-to piece of gear. We both prefer The Warlord that has a chance of not using a round 30% of the time as a general purpose SHTF carry-along rifle.
I’m perplexed here… I get so many legendaries since I got to endgame that even my lost loot finder is always filled cause I can’t carry more than forty, and when I start my day on this game I go from boss to boss and reset it after I’ve downed them all atleast once… yeah pre 40 I barely got one but the purples I got were stronger anyways even blues would be. But now it’s atleast one minimum per boss on mh4. Granted I’ve gotten non and purps from bosses like chupa but traunt always drops one.
I don’t even bother with most loot if it’s not even anointed at this point. Nothing was or is hard in the game provided you build your skills right. Unless your playing Zane… he’s the only vh I can’t do mh4 without tediore chucking and I dislike that setup.
The only true bug that kills me to this day is guardian ranks not working. My only gripe being gr 245.
Just give it a little more, I’ve had a blast with this update giving us the raid and m4. From solo to online play it’s a blast. I’ll even take people from the PS4 forums through the raid for the fun of it. So long their ok with it being on tvhm/m4
I haven’t seen anyone mention guaranteed gear from various sidequests. That’s enough to get you through normal mode/tvhm without mayhem turned on. On top of that there are some guaranteed legendaries like the lyuda/bekka/transformer that will help out on the mayhem levels.
If you really want to complain about loot drops, why dont you go kill wotan 30+ times on m4 and not get any m4 / takedown drops.
Well, you seem to be under the impression this is about a lack of legendaries - it’s not. Other than a silly number of repetitive legendary drops, some items being rather rare that are imperative to builds, and at least until recently a serious problem with farming specific loot (I don’t know if that is actually better currently or not) I mostly think legendaries are overall sort of okay with their drop rates currently. I don’t want more legendaries (I have hundreds) I want better variety and more specificity when I farm them, and legendaries that better complete a synegized build. So just for legendaries, it’s not quantity, it’s quality and specificity. But again, this isn’t about a lack of legendary gear.
You specifically call out Zane as problematic. In the video, both of our characters are Zane. So, if you missed the fact that both of the characters we are running are Zane, I can see how that might be confusing too.
You seem really focused on the end game drops, and this was specifically about mid game, campaign gear, so I see how that might prove confusing also. (And the recently introduced bugs, scads of them.)
Since both of our two characters are playing normal campaign, since they can’t do TVHM, because it’s their first play through and they aren’t level 50, their skills are in fact “not right”. Making an assumption that all people playing have maxed level 50s with all the skills where they can be “right” would I think indeed be perplexing considering this was primarily focused on a level 25 and level 30 character playing campaign on their first pass through the content. New characters on their first playthroughs do not have The Right Skills. Once someone passes through all those things sometimes it can be hard to remember what it was like, or the struggles can become diminished in our memory. If you are not currently leveling a new untwinked character it could be difficult to first-hand experience what someone doing campaign from the ground up might be experiencing as the game conditions and environment are quite different from what they were at launch. Having no reference point for this might create a situation that could prove perplexing.
It is wonderful that you aren’t loading into maps the wrong way, not hearing sounds, not being blown off of maps (from a couple different means) and dying, not loosing items from your inventory or having them fall through maps where they can not be retrieved (even by god), not having NPCs getting stuck forcing you to travel outside of the map the quest you’re on is taking placing eating into your game time because you had to do it three times in a row just to leave a single room because Balex was stuck in the floor and the quest wouldn’t progress, not experiencing any of the other huge list of bugs that Gearbox reported “fixed” like some of us are because if you aren’t, I’m sure someone complaining about experiencing a whole lot of those bugs would prove perplexing. I’m certain it could. (PS, the game has a tendency to power off the Xbox One, especially if you are grouped or trying to join someone elses game and that just perplexes the hell out of us Xbox owners).
Kudos to spending time taking other people into content!
This is one thing I have loved since day one about the Borderlands community, we very much seem to be co-op orientated and just a lot more friendly and open than many other gaming community’s. I really am happy if you are not having these issues. I genuinely am.
Since the Blacksite update someone on my friends list and I have been trying to level some alts, and it has been disappointing, glitchy, and the drop rate has sucked more than a factory full of industrial-grade sucking machines. A whole lot of them. Also, the mobs have been industrial strength and zergtacular. We’ve done all the content on TVHM MM3 and a fair amount of MM4. This isn’t about end game per se (though the bug part certainly is), it’s about the loot drops mid-game/campaign (before TVHM) and the atrocious bugs that have been recently introduced sucking the life out of something that has otherwise been pretty good. Until the loot dried up like yesterday’s poop-stain, and the game exceeded over a BILLION Procedurally Generated Bugs! (And you could hardly find a gun to keep your mid-level toon in the fight).
