One thing I dislike

The main dislike about the game is Limited Live.
I have tried this several times in single play and not been able to get past the first mission, died 5 times.

My friend and I have also tried several times, I died twice and my friend died 3 times, Mission Failed.

Therefore you don’t get 5 lives each but 5 lives per Team (RUBBISH).

The game is very GOOD apart for the limited lives.

I have pre ordered the game and I hope it has not been a waste of money.

Don’t know if you are aware but there are extra life pickups in the game plus a Mario like thing where if you get enough points raked up you get another extra life. It’s supposed to make the story challenging instead of being able to just bum rush the story Yolo style.

Thanks I did not know that, I will look out for them.

Np  yeah the extra lives are in boxes around the maps. It’s good to collect all boxes anyways for points and extra stuff

Thank you.

There seem to be a lot of people who don’t know this. Neither do they collect crystals, so when you really need that buildable in the Void…

It’s also worth mentioning that the extra lives are the red ones.

You died 5 times who were you playing has? Never had a problem getting though the missions myself

Also, to add on to what @FearlessOni was saying, it creates a reason for reviving fallen teammate.

In the CTT the ‘Limited Lives’ system was not in place, so if you fell in battle it was most of the time faster and smarter to just tap out and run back to the fights. I saw many a time in the Story Mode during the CTT where new players to either the game and/or that mode just respawn rush every boss fights and gave no thought to what was happening in that fight.

This is pretty much what is going to keep me from buying the game. I’m not really into the competitive stuff these days, so I would only be buying the game for story mode. I initially found the game pretty underwhelming during the CTT, but since I’m such a huge fan of Borderlands I figured I would give Gearbox another chance and play the beta a bit. I did find myself enjoying it a bit more, but of the 4 matches I’ve played, 2 of them ended up with the team running out of lives and me sitting there doing nothing, watching someone else play until they finally failed or I got bored and quit.

If you end up with a bunch of people that don’t know what they’re doing or trying out a new character, they keep dying and using the lives up. I just played a match where I was the only one running around reviving people, but when I finally went down during the Spider fight, nobody would revive me. Even though there were people right next to me. Respawn, revive someone, get killed just as they get up, they die, someone finally tries to revive me and dies, no lives left, quit in disgust because I don’t want to watch a couple other people play and hope they succeed and find extra lives.

If I want to watch people play games I’ll go to Twitch. I only have so much free time to play games, I don’t want to spend it watching other people play. Guess I’ll hold out for Borderlands 3… someday…

That sounds like a gang of noobs; no offense. Had to deal with a Montana yesterday that showed the skill level of a bot, but with far less game knowledge than one. He ignored all helpful game mechanics. He used all the lives within 10 minutes, and from there I kept close to revive him, since he was eager to respawn and I wanted to keep some spare respawns for myself. (Did I mention he didn’t bother to revive me?). I was somehow able to carry the mission, but it was hell.
Back on topic: In the full game people will know what to do. Easy levels can be carried by you alone, if you happen to have new players on your team. And new players hopefully don’t start a mission in advanced. It’s a beta and some people are just ballin around with this new ip that looks interesting. Also remember that 12 year olds can legally play this game.
Try giving commands. On PC you open the chat with Y, voice chat with T and marking locations and enemies with C. I was somehow able to get Montana to buy a repair drone for himself, and managed to make him shoot ISICs legs.

I found that on the first Beta.

They are not all like that, when I played with some other players they were just great, we all worked together and helped each other, and we finished the mission.

My daughter and I have played Borderlands 2 from day one, and found if you stay together and and help each other you do succeed.

As we have pre ordered Battleborn we will try and play the same way.

Hopefully three more of our friends will get it and we can and we can make a five player team.

What the game is really lacking is a “Respawn at the next checkpoint”
I get what GBX was going for with the limited lives and so far I haven’t had trouble with them, but I’ve only played 3 public story missions so far! The fact that you could end up having to watch other people play the rest of the game and you’ll be punished for leaving when there is nothing you can do anymore is really lame…

But a question, if the last player alive was to find extra lives, would the already dead people be able to respawn back? An increased chance to drop extra lives when there’s only one person left alive on the team could also fix this problem. (And also an increased chance to drop health when players are low on health! Borderlands did this too…)

I agree with what you say.

As I said in my first post when my friend died, my lives droped from 5 to 4 lives, maybe just a glitch.
