The Scoville and the embers purge are the only weapons in the game, beside event legendaries… But those are a different case… That are a one chance per character weapon. In a game all about farming for the perfect version of weapons. Who in their right mind thought this was a good idea. We have no way to “farm” these 2 guns besides manipulating save files, which is dangerous and not fun. Or starting a whole new character. I would LOVE to get a new Scoville at level 57, as mine is level 53. But in order to do this I would have to make a new character and level them all the way up to 57, and I don’t have that kind of time on my hands personally, to have one shot at getting one with the right parts and annoint. The Scoville is my favorite weapons in the game, but there is currently no way to farm it. Can you PLEASE FIX THIS. Either add it to a drop table or allow us to reset the challenges. Farming in borderlands has always been a core aspect. So why are these guns not farmable? Especially with level increases and the new mayhem mode 2.0 coming out. PLEASE give us a way to farm these guns. Its so weird that these are the only non event guns that aren’t farmable at all. This seems like a huge oversite that needs to be corrected. Even if I had the time to start a new character, level them up, and do the challenges to get a new Scoville, it wouldn’t matter because a future update is going to render it unusable anyways and I would have to start this horrible task over again. So I ask again. PLEASE MAKE THESE GUNS FARMABLE SOMEHOW. Being able to reset challenges would be fantastic. Or just add these guns to someone’s drop pool.
There’s also the Bekah, but yes, valid complaint.
Same for the sellout and every single unique gun since bl1 already? I don’t get this concept
That’s where you, and a lot of people are wrong.
Yes, one time items are a thing. I’m good with mission rewards. Definitely not a fan of the once per character crew challenge rewards. They should reset when you reset the playthrough.
How are they a thing when they can roll in 50 different variants?
Ever tried to get a perfect fibber in bl2?
That’s not “playing the game”
People are doing it, they do farm that stuff somehow
It’s up to gearbox to make it legal
And the Wedding Invitation, which even if you had broken enough hearts, is event time locked (and currently at Lvl 53 too)
… Or a set of Pimpernels. Not perfect mind you, beside the occasional one. But good ones.
Yeah I know and I have “mixed feelings” about that. Just something I don’t feel like losing … hairs? breath? about.
Gearbox position always been they are not and will not help collectors and the likes. They aim at play with the latest toy you found. It’s something you better learn to deal with than hoping for the impossible. Or extremely unlikely.
Well, they probably created the wrong game for their intentions then
Because everything about this game is, farming the perfect gear
That’s not what I do and I’m not the only one. Far from it.
Good gears? Sure. Perfect? nope. There’s a lot more fun to have in these game then doing the same fight over and over again.
Sure there is
But giving gamers the option to min max their character, will make most of them do it, be it farming or trading

Sadly, after hundreds of hours of play and three characters, multiple campaigns… and runs through DLC1–Jacks casino… I have never even seen the Scoville. Now I want one!
And that’s exactly why they make it hard. Otherwise everyone would be playing with the same gear just like in those “flavorless” fps.
You’re given a sand box with multitude of tools and everyone is trying to build the same highest possible tower.
Well. Not everyone but a very vocal portion.
I stated my opinion and have no desire to waste more time on it.
I have a game to play.
Best of luck. Doc.
@dleithaus The Scoville is the reward for Torgues bottles in Handsome Jackpot.
Funny. In a game about farming good gear, in a game where the developers encourage you to seek out certain gear by raising drops for specific areas or bosses, you still get those folks that want to say that’s not how the game is meant to be played.
This is fundamentally, factually wrong. If we weren’t supposed to farm gear, drop rates would never be adjusted. Since the drop rates have been adjusted multiple times, the only logical conclusion is that we were meant to farm gear we felt was ideal.
Unique gear should be farmable. Period. They should have learned that with the previous games. But then again they forgot about the fiasco with Badass Ranks last time ad still shipped this game without the option to turn off Guardian Ranks. That is literally making the same mistake twice, so clearly they have that problem.
Having challenges, or the option for challenges to reset upon resetting missions in TVHM, is a fantastic solution imo. It would make it a hard farm yes, but at least it would be somewhat feasable. Mission reward items can be farmed that way and having this fall under that category is a good solution imo.
I understand that not everyone wants to farm for good/perfect gear, and that’s okay, everyone enjoys things differently and there is nothing wrong with that. The point is that there is no way to farm these guns at all, and I just don’t understand why these guns are so different from any other in the game. At least mission reward items can be reset and gotten again. These guns cannot never be collected again on a character.
Yep I’ve ALWAYS (bl1-bl3) wondered why in the world are crew challenges and the such, not reset.
If I “reset” TVHM it should reset everything.
Please consider this
Honestly, resetting the entire campaign isn’t enough anymore. They really ought to find a way to let us either farm the items by adding them to certain pools, or allow us to repeat specific quests/rewards somehow.
I still haven’t played through the whole game once yet, so I honestly don’t know yet: Do we have a proper Second Playthrough like on the other games, where you start the whole game over again and have to repeat all the quests? 'Cuz that’s usually how I expect to get an End Game Level version of those Quest Reward Weapons.
I think once they’ve been unlocked add them to your world drop pool.
so what your telling me is they cant be farmed over and over for best varients and in maybe few month time after next dlc with level cap rise they be pointless junk items by sounds of it ? sounds like 2k are just more interested in fixing other stuff then stuff people want fixed as would love ability to level up ghast call as love grenade but probly never get that option also wont have chance to refarm that grenade since event was timed…
I just wish they would SAY SOMETHING about what they intended with these things. Do they have ANY plans (long-term or not) to allow people to somehow get new versions of these? Right now I have only finished a couple of these crew challenges on one character because I want to wait until the real, no fooling, serious max level to get them. Would be nice to know for sure if that was necessary (to obtain a max level item) or not…
