Supreme single target DPS with an AoE DoT component.

@shinlucario This would in fact affect his damage output. Smoke bomb is a source of dps for him (just like miko’s spore). Increasing the cooldown on it would in turn decrease his dps.

Also, one of his helix choices increases his next injection after using smoke bomb. By lengthening the cooldown on smoke bomb, it would reduce how often this combo could be used which again, decreases his damage output.

Also when you get his mutation that adds an extra second to his slow it makes his ult even stronger since it puts them in a constant slowed state:)

So basically so he can take down full health targets easy and harass that same target with aoe, also if on low health the aoe has a chance to kill em before escaping, two more things, do you think pendles saboteur secondary playstyle fits his lore/personality, and will rockets launchin rockets get buffed, (thanks by the way)

Does Gearbox have set order to release the remaining “revealed characters” or have you been releasing them as they are done? Just wondering because after seeing Ernest I was thinking that Pendles may not have received as much hate if he had been release after Ernest. Was also wondering because Ernest was revealed with less time inbetween Alani and Pendles. If you don’t have a set order to release the characters, it would be neat to know which order they were originally planned to be released in.

I am half a level from mastering Pendles and I can tell you right now he is far from OP.
He can easily be taken down, he has a low amount of health as it is and his Smoke Bomb cooldown is quite lengthy too. People really need to stop complaining that they want him nerfed in some way. He has low health, he is slow out of his cloak, his Smoke Bomb cooldown takes a while, he can’t do massive damage and has to rely on picking off squishy or weakened Battleborn. All you have to do it look for him, that’s it. Look for the blur, there are even bugs in the game right now that make Pendles become permanently slowed or have something showing that he is there even while cloaked. If that isn’t enough, just get a reveal. Quite a few Battleborn have Reveal skills and they make it hell for Pendles to operate.
If he backdoors? Just wait at the minion spawner a few times and either kill him or run him off and he will stop. He keeps backstabbing you? Look behind you more often.
I played Pendles last night and the enemy team had 2 reveal skills that made me go negative K/D wise and made it hell for me to do anything productive. I try to pick off Minions for EXP? I get revealed for being too close to the enemy BB when they use their skills. I try to attack a buildable? Someone notices and reveals me meaning I’m stuck on their side of the map. I try to kill enemy BB? I get revealed and whaled on.

Also, his Ult doesn’t do a terrible amount of damage and all it really does is draw attention to him even while in cloak, if he uses it while cloaked you look towards the centre of the mist and see him, making him a target.
If he keeps using Smoke Bombs to evade your Reveals? Wait till he tries to use it THEN Reveal him.

Side note, this should be in the Pendles category.

Just because YOU died to him as a character doesn’t mean he’s OP in any way shape or form.

His ult is great, it is made so he can single target FULL health people and it’s passive aoe is actually fairly damaging, if they are on low health (300 even)it will take them out so caldarius and mellka agility can’t do anything against him, not to mention a 2 sec slow that can be applied EVERY 3 SECONDS

I’m fairly certain Desecrate and Holotwin have longer cooldowns at 26 and 28 seconds, respectively.

The cooldown would be fine if he didn’t have a helix option that cools it down on hit.

The cooldown wouldn’t make much difference, it’d just extend the time between his engagements ever so slightly.

No good Pendles will uncloak with their smoke bomb on cooldown unless they have a sure fire escape/corner sneak and a solo low health target.

Pendles is fine as is.

I’m sorry, but if you get spawn trapped by Pendles, I have no sympathy for you. His damage is nothing to speak of, his health is SUPER low, and YOU CAN STILL SEE HIM WHILE HE’S CLOAKED. He’s not a threat unless you’re playing Miko, in which case you shouldn’t be alone at spawn, that’s not his fault your team doesn’t know what their doing.

Besides, with the exception of Echelon, every spawn area has at least 3 exits. C’mon man.

Whoa don’t undermine pendles

I’m not pal. I’m going off of the fact that every time I engage him, unless I’m playing Miko ends up with a dead snake. The characters he can and can’t engage make him useless, because he’s only effective against 2 of the 27 Battleborn, the 2nd one being another Pendles.

I never even see Pendles players anymore, the only ones I DO see are low levels who attack our buildables and nothing else, or the super high levels who only target Miko and other Pendles.

Trust me, he’s fine.

He’s fine yes but you need to fight a good pendles if you think he is bad, I bet @slif_one could show you

These are the good Pendles that I’ve seen. Engagement is everything, and unless another character is alone with 100 health, it’s not a good idea to engage anyone other than Miko and Pendles.

No dude, just no, you need to fight GOOD pendles (sorry this sounds salty) honestly when I’m pendles I do way better than the people your explaining

I’ll believe it when I see it, pal. I’ll believe it when see it.
