OP Heroes Don't Win Games. Experienced Well Coordinated Teams Do

I have mastered Alani (well aside from Lifeguards) and I SUPER regret not playing her in her insanity days!

@diekthx

I get what hes saying, playing with a team i win 5/6 games, Even been on a 7 win streak. With Solo its more of a crap shot. Add the DC, afker, and new players and yea… elo hell lol

Hopefully they add the option to counter-pick soon but even so who are you gonna pick as a hard counter for an Ambra/Kleese/Galilea combo besides the exact same characters? Maybe there is a good option. I’m not trying to act like I know it all. There are other people who are alot smarter about this stuff but until somebody convinces me otherwise I say there are some comps that right now are OP.

Orendi and Whiskey for natural Shield Pen. And Whiskey loves destroying Sunspots and Rifts. Activates Battle Rhythm and at level 5, whatever kill perk you take. Orendi just kills those by accident.
Really, Ambra is easily destroyed with burst. Time the burst right, and she doesn’t get her overshoes.
Ernest also gives these guys a hard time.
And with Kleese/Ambra pressured, Galilea is much easier to skirmish.

Was Overshoes a typo?

I think that’s what im going to call them from now on…Hehehehe…

Also bad players make good players lose matches. I can gripe all day but we’ve all played with really really bad players, kill hogs, people who don’t know what an objective is. I’ve been dragged down so hard by other players it seems to make my strategy good or bad irrelevant. And mic or no, most players don’t listen, don’t care if you have advice, dps mikos, thorns ignoring thralls and spawn camping Pendles. So tell me other than try and fail to carry them or try and fail to organise them neither leaves me happy nor satisfied

Everything is relative.
Both teams organized, one has “OP” players?
Well, gear can come into play, or strategy. or hell even a little luck.
Deal is, OP can’t reach their full potential without the right person at the controls.

Considering all of that, if a team is organized, solid gear, knows what they’re doing, they will most likely win regardless of who they’re using.
And if the opposing team has the right ones to counter them, it all comes down to skill.

A good Pendels for example ( who I don’t find overpowered but just annoying ) can be taken completely out of the match with a solid Marquis ( who is no longer OP IMO ).

Depends on the pick

But usually I can drag a pack of babies across the finish line

I mean there is a reason I pick Ghalt in prolly 90% of the games I play now, and its not just because I hate everyone and want to ruin their fun.

There is a subset of heroes that just straight hard carry the game and the majority of them happen to be the best heroes in the game.

Sometimes you just can’t immediately see how much some of these heroes drive the boat, but you do have a point to an extent.

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

I think some of you need to tutor me. Whenever I see a certain team comp on the other side i’m just like, “Who do I target?”

@Chigurh462

Which team comps give you trouble?

Ambra, Galilea, Ghalt, Orendi, Miko, Boldur, Isic, Benedict - pretty much any combination of the above maybe add a Miko somewhere.

The worst is when they push to the choke point and Ghalt pulls you out into a firing squad.

Usually easier said than done, but if you can seperate the healers from the main group, via harassment or other means.

Aside from that…uhh…try not to die???

Lol!

:+1::sob::sunglasses:

I’d go for Ghalt and Miko first if possible, then Gal and Benedict. ISIC is only a danger after level 5 when he has his ult up, but you can stun him out of it and Boldur needs to be flanked, but he’s pretty easy to take down if his team isn’t near him if you can lure him out into the open and have one person attack him from the front while two or three others flank him. That way, no matter which way he turns, his back is exposed to someone.

Ambra/Ernest/kleese on the same team is a controlling nightmare in incursion. Especially on Overgrowth

How many OP characters do you think there are, might I ask? 9 times out of 10, it’s just based on opinion anyway.

Ohhhh Boldurz…

No one else needs the strategy you described!

That comp can’t be dealt with solo queueing unless you have the good fortune of being matched with teammates who know how it operates and know to keep hard CCs off cool down to interrupt the incoming CC chain off of Ghalt or Galilea’s pull.

If every individual decides simply to “focus a specific puller”, then the other puller interrupts with their own pull to save the first and the chain goes off as always.

Right now I think Ambra is clearly OP. It’s not so much individual characters that I’m talking about. It’s combinations of characters. I think the game should be balanced to the point where you see more variety in the team makeups as opposed to seeing the same one the majority of the time.

Ambra is op, huh? Did you play her during beta? Or how about at launch? She was OP, they nerfed her into the ground, and now she’s fine. The only thing she needs is a shorter cut off distance for her staff.

Also, really? You want to nerf characters in a way that discourages teamplay? You sir, are a disappointment to heroes everywhere.
