First of all, thanks for letting us enjoy your grown product, I was part of the CTT and have seen many improvements that made it into the open beta already. Excuse my use of english, as I’m no native speaker. I played FPS games and I’ve played RPG/ARPG games since I was a teen, that’s a long time ago since I’m an old fart now ^^ Playing on a decent PC with maxxed settings mostly, I disable shadows for a jump in frames tho.
I played about 15 Story missions and twice as many multiplayer games in that period, all but 1 were on Oscar Mike, here’s the positive [+] and negative [-] ^^:
PvE
[+] Very cool and fun, mission length could be enhanced since you get to know the missions pretty quickly
[+] You get to earn gearpacks, XP for character and command rank as well as challenges / lore and credits on top
[-] I felt it was too easy overall, even the advanced hardcore. Please let us have one mode to crawl through very cautiously.
[-] Don’t limit the time (in every mode). There was a game with me and 4 very new guys, had to explain them to stand in the circles, to open chests etc. so time was really an issue since I would like to help them on one hand, but on the other I’d also like to finish the mission and get the rewards.
[-] Boss drop visibility / reachability. They drop anywhere, you can’t see them clearly and then they even disappear too fast or you get ported / the mission ends.
PvP
[+] I like objective-style PvP, so you already hooked me. New Incursion mode was even better than Meltdown imo. I hope we get more than 1 map per mode to make things a bit less repetitive
[+] Also, player skill matters apart from the character choice. I’ve seen all the mentioned OP characters getting stomped because they didn’t play them right. This is important for an FPS imo.
[+] Diversity is a plus ^^ Altho I expect some characters to fulfill certain roles (Hi, DPS Miko), I enjoyed the change of some playstyles.
[-] No gear reward in PvP. Let us earn gearpacks in PvP too. Apart from the odd challenge or command rank completed gear rewards, PvP does not reward us with gear or packs. Yea we get credits, but that is just a bit too traditional for a badass game like Battleborn. I really would enjoy to earn gear in PvP direclty, too. Tied to challenges, missions or the character we’re playing, anything really
[-] Handling of disconnected players and intentional leavers: this has to be adressed in a proper manner. Even if you just replace that player with the respective bot that would be better than 4v5 matches. If a lvl 5 Ambra leaves, image her and the helix choices and let a bot play passively on the map, I wouldn’t mind too much. Or let other guys fill the gap, by letting them continue that lvl 5 Ambra and don’t reduce their rewards for it, maybe even increase them. Make a character rank of 9 or so prerequisite to fill as a certain character. I’d love to turn around matches as gap-filler with a huge knowledge of said character. Imagine the feeling of badassery, eh?
[-] I guess this does not have to apply, but ranked matchmaking was not live long enough to actually affect matchmaking in the way it is designed. I hope this works well since 7 minute 100-0 matches are relatively bad for both sides.
[-] the kill-assisst discussion, objective rewards in general. take Incursion as an example. I start solo fighting the double-thrall camp and some random teammated appears to be on the platforms before me, well guess what, I blew my cooldowns for him to earn XP and getting zero myself. Or I support that Montana through a 1v2 teamfight and just am rewarded wtih assists when he gets kills, not for the healing / shielding itself. this promotes egocentric playstyle much much more than it prevents that. Why should I focus on heals when I can aswell get the same result (assisst) or even the kill itself by just DPSing? I hope you see what I mean, after all it’s mostly a team game
[-] NO XP for succesful taunts. Why is that? It should give a small portion of XP so you can chose to take the risk of dieing yourself, or let it be like any other objective.
[-] no basic vsays. imagine you could send specific short voiced says to your team: “focus on minions, kill the hobos later” in meltdown for example, or “I’ll tackle the thralls, need covering fire!” for incursion. just small examples, but still
again, thanks for letting us play again for some days, I’ll be definitely going to purchase a copy and blast those varelsi into oblivion

Your English is better than most native English speakers haha. Good feedback, although i disagree with the PvE needing higher difficulty. I’m sure it would seem easy if you only focus on using one character. You would find a rythm with their attacks/skills and the enemy’s tactics and spawn locations. And you were using the (arguably) most versatile and well rounded/balanced character.
Anyways, I agree with a lot of things you said. Especially gear rewards in PvP! Not too much though, because you get credits and you can buy gear packs too. It would just be amazing to get rewarded sometimes, so PvP immediately feels more usefull.
And good point, they should get rid of the story time limits.
I really think the PvE missions are too easy, since I have played the story missions in CTT countless times as anyone available. Playing on PC this was no biggie, even with Thorn / Miko’s arcing shots or melee guys like Rath. Mouse / keyboard + me as an experienced FPS gamer is really easy to hit critical spots / heads of the story enemies. Yeah I did play with Oscar Mike, yet I was never under adrenaline with close to death experiences. Its perfectly OK to let normal and advanced as they were in open beta, just add some even harder difficulty, where enemies get quadruple HP and DMG or a much more intelligent way of dealing with the human players, or even both
Oh god how i feel you … SO many times i’ve seen my team mates completely ignore the thrall camp just for me to go solo it and get no reward for it because someone decided that it would be cool to get free XP. Just like the system keeps track on dmg made and assists on other players, thrall camp XP should be given taking in account the dmg who made to it, not who stands in the spawn center at the time.
This is one thing that i kept searching if existed or not, i really miss the ability to ping a location and tell my teammates that i need them to do or warn about something in that location with a simple click of a button. This is an integral part of any MOBA or FPS game, why don’t we have such thing now ?
It only gets worse since we don’t have a true and permanent chat system, i want to have global and team specific chat options to coordinate things. The minimap it’s already very badly designed, without any of this it’s kinda hard to manage the lanes in a competitive game.
