Opening ECHO freezes the game

It’s installed on my PS4 because I don’t have a external HDD. I do have the 1st model PS4 tho.
I played yesterday evening, it was playable. But I got 3 or 4 blue screen error for the 3-1/2 hours I played.
And what do you mean by you leaned to load the game, wait for hotfix and…? Are you talking about procedure to load the game? Such as opening the game, wait a few seconds in the main screen to have the hotfix applied, and when you open your echo, wait a littlebit on each tab for it to “load”?
At this point, I’m willing to try anything…

Thanks mate!

On older hardware there is definitely a time between arriving at the main menu and having the hotfix applied, then spawning on the first map and actually being able to interact with anything.

The first of those (hotfix) I’ve noticed can be a bit variable in how long you need to wait. But I also discovered last night that my connection speed has become highly erratic - had an update fluctuate between 50 Mbps and 0.05 Mbps. I think it’s just the number of people staying home and doing everything on-line.

The second, the game continues loading in textures etc after you’ve spawned in, so you’ll notice that you can’t access your echo at all initially. And once you can, there’s still a lot of loading going on so it can be really slow if you spawn then try to get into your echo as fast as possible.

Basically, lots of detail in the game so there’s a lot of disk, CPU, and GPU activity.

What’s weird is, that where ever I go, loading texture loading is really long. I prefer over than having to deal with the game freezing fo 30 seconds.

Sorry, I could have been more clear, but it does sound like you got it. I had learned (through much trial and error) that I had to start playing the game slowly.

Essentially this, even when you think it is loaded all the way, it is not. To me, it seems certain parts of the game do not load until there is a need for them, like their priority is set low. So opening the echo and tapping over multiple tabs to the weapons forces all the tabs and the weapons to load at once causing the slog. Picture opening Chrome browser with 25 tabs at once, each time you click a tab it reloads, but if you click each tab in succession in reloads them all at the same time, relatively.

At least that is the best way I can describe how I see the interactions happening and what forced me to slow down and do all the steps I now take every time I load into the game session. The game seems to be optimized for PS4Pro/Slim and our systems are running it the best they can but honestly, there is not much besides slowing down your gameplay that will help. Heck, even with these steps I still get dead/broken images, pixels, and audio.

I never and wasn’t even close to have an issue with that a month ago. Must be something in the last update I’d say.

Oh, well than sorry I could not help or explain better. I have been having the issues since launch and just assumed you were newer to the game as there were some good sales lately.

I also have the older PS4, though I do notice that it takes some time to load in textures (Can’t open echo menu) messages. From another thread, you may be able to speed things up a bit by unequipping the trinkets.

I did this and the performance in echo screens was way better.

Think I might try that as well - they annoy more than they confer benefit anyway, so it’s not going to be a great loss.

I noticed the difference immediately, they can stay off until I see a fix in patch or hotfix notes.

I did rather like my little Nibblenomicon though.

Yup a good difference in opening the echo-3 and no lag in inventory without trinkets equipped.
