The developers are always working on improving the game. They’ve made some improvements to the optimization already and are continuing to do more. If you think you are starting to lose interest I would recommend taking a break from the game and then picking it up every now and again to see if things have improved. Keep an eye on the official website, the official forums and the support website where they keep the patch notes.
Thanks.
Yes i will keep an eye on it because this is very fun game.but currently
unplayable to me.
Hopefully it will be patched soon and i can enjoy it again.
The patch coming Thursday will have quality fixes so hopefully it will fix some stuff for you
GTX980, keep getting slideshow FPS. As in dropping below 10FPS. In Character Select, Start of Matches, sometimes it gets better after a while, sometimes it doesn’t. Haven’t figured out any setting that would help with this.
Performance was horrid after release, then it started to get better, then it started doing this again. (Not as frequent as after release but frustrating) I’ll have to reinstall my Windows when I get a new SSD, hopefully that will help a little.
With a GTX980 you shouldn’t have any issues unless you’re running anything higher than 1080p.
Have you tried completely removing then reinstalling the Nvidia drivers?
Within the Nvidia profile I found forcing vsync to adaptive helped as well as setting in-game phsyics to the lowest setting possible.
If you haven’t done both of those yet, there’s a good starting point. However this game does have some funky optimization issues so I would say it’s not you or your pc!
I hope so.
Lookig forward to it.will postpone my break after i see what will this patch do.
This I did, haven’t done that change to my profile. I guess I’ll try. I think I dropped physics too.
I share your frustration. I was using a GTX680 for a while and I couldn’t run anything over 1080p. Even @ 1080 my fps was still dropping to the 40’s (20’s on Sabateur).
The only other thing I could think of is if your config file for the game got screwed up a little. Deleting it and letting the game recreate it might help.
Do you know what your cpu usage looks like during the drops?
I’ll try this too :-)[quote=“THaNaToS_J2, post:11, topic:1541349”]

I did check a few times, though the horrible slideshow FPS decided to not show up when I had the performance monitor on. I’ll have to look into that some more.
Same thing happen to me . Using a 980Ti
I wanna try that. You know where I can find the config file?
Yes I do and if I wasn’t at work I could tell you exactly where it was!
If I remember correctly though it’s in your documents folder (usually c:\users\yourname\documents) Under my games, Battleborn, Poplar Game\Config
There’s a few ini’s in there. I forget which one has the configuration settings in it. I think it’s the PoplarEngine.ini one. If you open it up and see settings for your resolution and things like dynamic shadows, ambient occlusion, etc than it’s the right one.
Thanks I appreciate it. The game is working great but every once and a while I get FPS drops (not game breaking drops), it seemed to go away but it’s now back so I’ll try this out. Hope tomorrow’s update squashes it.
After this humble bundle sale the amount of players tripled and whats interesting is that on steam as well as on reddit there are more and more people complaining about same issues and optimization.
Cant believe gearbox hasnt done anything yet…this is no way to keep playerbase.
Hopefully todays patch will do something.
yup that’s one of reasons why playerbase stayed around 300-600 before the HB sale.
I’m having literally this on my GTX 770.
You can’t turn off any of the Nvidia Gameworks stuff I think.
You can turn off dynamic lights in the engine configuration files for a huge performance boost, but everything will get really dark.
I have a GTX 1080 and still experience random frame drops, the optimized maps especially are still a problem!
I think the best optimization is in “The Sentinel”, I don’t remember getting under 55 fps on my GTX 770 there.
Can’t say that about others:
The Algorithm - Location before H3nchm4n boss fight, H3nchm4n boss fight, Geoff boss fight and other random areas
The Void’s Edge - First third of the map and other random areas
The Renegade - Location after first capture and other random areas
The Archive - random areas
The Experiment - I would say main capture area with some random ones
The Saboteur - First part of the map is almost unplayable, one of the worst maps performance-wise (adressed in upcoming patch, hopefully I will not drop under 30 fps anymore)
The Heliophage - random areas
EDIT: Haven’t played much PvP to talk about these maps, but they have fps drops too. Not good.
In my opinion, they really need, at the very least a “performance” preset allows the game to run 50-60 consistently on their advertised min spec. You can’t expect to call it playable for a multiplayer first person shooter if there are frame drops everywhere.
In competitive, performance before graphics, everytime.
Hell, look at what UT-Competitive looks like back in the day. Ugly as sin.
