The main thing “Let’s Bounce” took care of for me, was that i didn’t have to think about where i was facing when using the dash. Which eased manouvering by a lot.
I’ll probably go with this every time I play Orendi, unless there’s an unlockable 3rd option that is even better.
That’s reassuring then. How far was the dash? Was it enough to get out of range of certain attacks? Or does it have a short range which probably won’t spare you from, let’s say…Ambra’s Meteor of doom?
How fast is the dash? Do you almost “instantaneously” get to the point where you would land, do you sorta “glide” to the location, is it a “warp” type of dash? <Is there gameplay footage of it being used?>
I just want to know if it’s effective as an evasion tool and/or a way to close gaps between you and your enemy, or even to put distance between you and an enemy.
Can you use Nullify/Shadow Pillars in mid-air? If yes, how would “Let’s Bounce” work (if at all)? It would be cool (If you CAN use Nullify in mid-air and “Let’s Bounce” DOES work) to use Nullify as you reach the peak of your jump and use Nullify and “Let’s Bounce” will dash you UPWARDS (Pseudo-Double Jump) or even using it as you’re descending and “Let’s Bounce” will make it so your descent is faster.
@Devs If that’s not currently the case…can it be considered? O_O I want Orendi to have a Magical Upward Dash/Downward Descent.
@TheFunfighter I’m sorry for the random questions; I’m currently fixated on Orendi’s mobility.
The dash range was comparable to… 1/2 to 1/3 of her cast range for Shadowfire Pillar, I think. The speed was pretty quick imo. Not instantaneous, but quick enough to sidestep I’d say.
Usually it’s primarily a gap opening tool, since it transports you backwards without Let’s Bounce.
About the midair casts:
Nullify IS the dash
Shadowfire Pillar can be casted iirc, but since you gotta select a zone first and then wait for the 1.5 second windup, it’s not really impactful. Also the dash is quite fast, so you will probably never get around to completely cast it within the dash time.
With “direction of your current movement”, the horizontal plane is meant btw.
Judge for yourself:
Ah, Ok, things are becoming clearer. Thanks.
The speed seems “decent”, the distance…not so much at first glance.
We also don’t really know what the 3rd options for the skill helix will be - the one we’ve seen for Reyna seems like it will dramatically change the way she’s played.
New Orendi gameplay =)
Turns out that the dash also works on vertical movement. Check the video that “sunro” posted above this reply.
Yeah, so it does. Nice.
The video also showed a bit of how it’d look like to be “slowed” if I’m not mistaken, right? Or was it something else?
I guess you mean the “not-sprinting” XD Wondered if there’s some kind of hidden stamina or CD for that. It seemed unlimited to me, but that might be because it’s the playtest version for conventions.
I meant like around 5:28ish when the screen changes and the sound “muffles” and stuff. I took that as being under Slow-ing effects…I could be wrong.
its nice to be able to play as tina. I think i may have to start with benedict though.
It’s hard to tell in the video, but I think the mohawked spear thrower who dies at 5:58 is named ‘Thrall Ascendent’ and I’m pretty sure it’s spelled with another ‘a’ - Thrall Ascendant. Just in case the GBX spell-checkers hadn’t caught that yet (though, if I’m mistaken, I blame the video artifacting!).
That would be because ascendant is the correct spelling.
Yes, that’s what I’m saying. It appears to be spelled with an ‘e’ instead of an ‘a’ in the video above.
ah i misread.
Some incursion gameplay with Orendi, also notice the lvl 3 mutator
Summary for people interested in mutators:
- Mind Bullets
- Appearantly unlocked at a character rank of 4 or lower
- “Chaos Bolts’ secondary burst attack homes in on enemies in close range”
- Can be chosen at Helix level 3
- Chaotic Reach
- Unlocked at character rank 5
- Helix level unknown
- Effect unknown
My expectations for Chaotic Reach:
- Expected Helix level: 4 or 6
- Possible effects:
- Extends the dash range of Nullify
- Extends the AoE of Shadowfire Pillar
- Extends the cast range of Shadowfire Pillar
- Or: Extends all AoE by a small amount -> Helix level 7
mind bullet seems REALLY good
Since the secondary Chaos Bolt attack has about the same dps as the primary one, the first one is pretty much risk spreading. The augment for homing missles of the secondary attack is needed to make it “worth” using it.
Don’t forget, that by choosing it you’re missing out on either
- Nullify now moves Orendi in the direction she is moving.
or - Orendi immediately begins recharging shields after using Nullify.
Both of those augmentations are pretty good for utility or defense. Of course the dps between the primary and secondary attck can’t be compared without data, even though I tried to estimate the amount of attacks in the same time span. If
(attackspeed of secondary attack) > (1/4) x (attackspeed of primary attack)
, it’s worth.
Interesting, but from my personal view I’d still chose “Oh That Reminds Me” over this mutator.
