I agree. The community isn’t as toxic as other forums I’ve participated. A lot of the credits go the moderators for doing an amazing job.

Dude you absolutely kill me :joy:

The character models in Overwatch are great, no doubt, and mercy is no exception. Actually, she might be my favorite design aesthetically next to Reaper (even though he’s super basic, I love the trench coat and mask)

To me, it comes down to whether I feel comfortable playing a game that depicts women like this:

As opposed to this:

You can keep your boob windows, Blizzard

  1. A fully charged headshot (or bodu shot if you’re Tracer or D.va outside her mech) from Hanzo or Widowmaker.
  2. D.va, and Junkrat’s Ultimate.
  3. A fully charged Ultimate from Mcree
  4. Hanzo’s split arrow in the right spot.
  5. Hanzo’s fully charged tracking arrow.
  6. Getting stuck in Junkrat’s beartrap with a sticky on it.
  7. Reinhardt’s pin insta kills anyone under 300 hp, so everyone but tanks.
  8. Direct hits from Bastions tank.
  9. Direct rocket hits from Pharah one hit Tracer/Mechless D.va.
  10. Junkrat’s direct hit grenades one hit Tracer/Mechless D.va.

And those are just off the top of my head, of one hit kills either I’ve personally done, or have experienced. The one hit kill in Overwatch happens A LOT more than it ever does in Battleborn. Have you played competitive matches at all?

This is literally the perfect example of Overwatch, and the only reason I like playing it. I loved the hell out of TF2.[quote=“Whitethroat, post:15, topic:1546145”]
Imo comparing BB and OW is silly. About the only relating feature is that they’re both FPS games with a focus on playable characters and pvp

Don’t forget that they have the same skill set up too. :D[quote=“delcynn, post:28, topic:1546145”]
Overwatch is Call of Duty with special effects.

Now that is a TERRIBLE comparison. CoD games can be carried by one or two people. At least in OW it takes a team to win matches, and being down even one person pretty much screws the entire team over UNLESS the other team is completely incompetent, which rarely happens. I’m not a HUGE fan of Overwatch, but it doesn’t deserve to be compared to scraps that get served up to the same people year in and year out.

So is the OW community. I get more hate mail for getting PotG on Overwatch than I do for surrendering on Battleborn.

So in the end they are both games. Games we use for different reasons. If I feel like playing a few quick matches before bed with a friend I tend to favour Overwatch, if I want to play some in depth more serious matches, I prefer to play Battleborn. Plus I can easily get a full team on Battleborn and not have any randies on my team compared to Overwatc (not as many of my friends I always play with own it.)

But I can’t look down and see my chest in Overwatch so what’s the point? D:

I’m proud of you Battleborn forumites for keeping this classy.

Can anyone imagine what sort of profane Battleborn bashing this topic would degenerate into on the Blizzard Overwatch forums?

People in this thread were able to come right out and say “I think Overwatch is better and / or enjoy it more” or at least “they are both fun and enjoyable”.

I doubt ANYONE on the OW forums would have the spherical lower spore colonies to make such a claim about BB and if they did they would be flamed and trolled into Oblivion.

You guys kick ass.

I suggest refraining from posting these kinds of threads. Stirs up the salt, ya know?

You keep saying that

Only said it once.

Today at least. :dukejk:

And don’t you have some editing to do?

Three of those are Tracer/non mech suit D.Va specific, so the squishiest character (who has amazing escape abilities) and a tank who requires you to destroy her very high hp mech suit with added shields to force her into that state…

Another 3 are Ultimate abilities…

So sniper characters can headshot the two squishiest characters and some Ultimates are able to one shot some characters as well.

What a ridiculous list

I mean I guess reading my original comment saying almost none wasn’t true but if people consider this type of stuff unbalanced or broken I really don’t know what to say.

Super abilities kill people in games. And snipers one shot low armor characters as well.

So having 6 ways (that I could think up off the top of my head) ways to OHKO is ridiculous? I agree, that seems like a pretty high amount of ways to OHKO which is completely WAY higher than what you had originally suggested. I’m glad we can agree that it’s ridiculous. I mean how many ways can you OHKO someone in Battleborn? Let me see… Depends mostly on the characters I guess, but I can’t think of a single time I’ve dropped anyone from full health to dead in Battleborn. Even in TF2 the OHKO were either in taunts (which actually RARELY happened) or the sniper’s head shot.

Widowmaker can OHKO headshot pretty much anyone who’s not a tank and so can Hanzo. I said they could fully charged BODY SHOT Mechless D.va and Tracer. You said that OHKO’s were a rare thing so I gave you a list of all the ones I could think up off the top of my head, if you feel like debating it, please bring back some useful feedback and try not to sound like you’re trying to “attack” the information I provided you with.

Oh don’t get me wrong I don’t think it’s unbalanced or broken. It’s a blizzard game, so the whole game is expected to be broken and slightly unbalanced, and they will play with it over and over and over again, and maybe get it decent somewhere down the line, but it will never be perfect. Based on how they’ve treated their other games. As of right now in Overwatch they messed with Zenyatta to make him more balanced and instead gave him WAY too much damage out. I used to drop a discord orb on the tanks and help kill them, now I drop a discord orb on the tanks and murder all the squishy characters. They made him even more OP than he was before in the right hands.

So here’s my experience and take on this particular argument

Over watch is a fun game if not somewhat one dimensional. I felt like when I played the 2 hours in the beta that the game modes were not particularly different from each other. I also felt like dedicating a days worth of my time I would grasp most characters and there strengths and weaknesses. The game also lacked any sort of a campaign whatsoever. These things combined made me scratch my head at the 60 dollar game tag and felt like blizzard was really just kind of trying to fleece people. My relationship with blizzard is quite strained at this moment and I will not pay a single cent for there products and would go out of my way to acquire there products I am mildly interested in so long as they themselves saw none of the money from me directly.

Battleborn however is so much more in depth to me. Campaign, gear, helix options, 3 legitimately different pvp styles more than justifies my purchase of the digital deluxe version I payed for. Gearbox has my full support as a company and is probably my favorite at this time. Even as other vaguely interesting titles drop (ff15, skyrim remaster, horizon zero dawn) I will STILL be playing this game fervently.

This is all my opinions and feelings though of course

I gotta say, of the games I played today, the only “one shot” scenario that was an ultimate was junkrat’s, and I wasn’t even mad. That one made sense to me. It’s an ult that you have to steer, right? I need to see some competitive OW gameplay to see if pros can actually manage to make the gameplay look/feel dynamic. Theoretically, OW could have depth, but public matches feel like a clusterfuck with no purpose

The price tag is a whole nother situation. I agree that it’s steep for a game like OW

The thing is even if it was free, even if I didn’t despise blizzards money grubbing guts I would have to have friends interested in playing over watch for me to even consider playing it. And even then I would be trying to convince them to play battleborn instead. It’s just not worth my time imo

The game modes aren’t all the different. It’s all a variation of attack/defend, with a little bit of escort thrown in occasionally. When I first played the beta I was like “Man this game doesn’t seem bad, can’t wait to see the full game… Oh… The beta is the full game… Well then…” and then I didn’t pre-order it. Unlike Battleborn’s beta, I played it the whole time we had the beta, and pre-ordered it as soon as the beta was over, and I still haven’t regretted it.

The console’s got screwed over because the PC version is 40 dollars, with a 60 dollar version that comes with a code of add on’s in other Blizzard games and a few in-game skins. Which is why I refused to play full price for OW and instead found it used for around $40.

I feel you there. After they (in my opinion) ruined Diablo 3 to make an easy going rpg for everyone and not a good sequel to Diablo 2, I’ve been a little bit iffy on everything they do, but I really wanted a TF2 game to play more seriously, which is one of the only reasons I even picked up OW.[quote=“derk257, post:58, topic:1546145”]

The only difference I’ve seen in comp play is a bit more teamwork at times. I don’t know about two full teams working together in voicechat, but last season’s comp play was pretty fun. It always was terribly annoying because of dropouts. If one person dropped out the whole game was thrown for the team who lost the player. I lost at least 5 matches because of that, but overall it felt more intense because of how they set it up, and how its more based on how well your team attacks or defends.

OP complained about getting one shot. You brought up two bad characters who have the ability to kill with one shot. They are not good characters.

I don’t get what you are trying to argue with me
