[PC] Feedback from a Professional FPS Player

I found him a lot easier than most

  • Tier 2
    CURSED EARTH
When Thorn is touching Blight’s field, all of her arrows become cursed.
  • Tier 4
    FOCUSED VOLLEY
Volley is concentrated to three arrows, dealing greater damage per arrow. +66% Damage per Arrow, -2 Arrows
  • Tier 5
    FIENDISH CURSE
Bonus damage to cursed targets penetrates shields. +100% Shield Penetration

I agree that might work but it is a very specific build for dealing with certain targets.

Thats more preffered play style i usually take the T2 for speed to get away and generally prefer it on offense or for wave clear. I take the bonus curse duration and damage at tier 5 for the quicker out trade, but as I said new game lots of experimenting to be done.

I spec different based on who im matched up with and what mode

Me to to some newbie extent I find at close range I can fight almost anyone with my standard helix config. I mean more my effectiveness at range against tanky characters. I should add comparing to Marquis who basically turns them into swiss cheese

I looked at your youtube and honestly wasn’t impressed by your aim. Exactly what game were you sponsored and salaried in, and by who? Google only brought up this weird korean-looking call of duty copy.

I have to agree on the aim assist part …
While it has some right to exist (for gamepads) and while it´s probably not used as frequently as many think or is as big an advantage it just leaves me with a bad feeling.

Whenever you get rekt by a Marquis or some such char you can´t help but wonder wether you just got killed because of skill or because he has easy mode on.

Didn’t say anywhere that I’m a “modern” Pro, I am not in any giant gaming communities such as Counter Strike etc…
But I am simply a World-Class player at DF:BHD a small (2000± player) community that was once a legendary FPS game and was supported by ESL in 2003.

This topic isn’t about it though, but i’m just going to leave it here that I do have full right to call myself a Professional FPS player, won about 9 different tournaments, both online and LAN.

Any FPS game, I pick up really easily and after a few hours I can already be in the top 10-5% of the players,
It’s that easy for me.

As for my aim, it’s easy to talk by just watching been leading the skill ceiling for BHD for about 4 years now.
Sorry for @ offtopic, someone just wants to argue for no reason.

Okay, then, back on topic.

Which, to remind everyone, is the game. Not other forum users.

Back on topic indeed.

Perfectly understandable, I also feel like aim assist limits player improving capabilities, using aim assist will only slow down your improvement for aiming speed and accuracy.

At the very least I feel like it should be optional setting and not being defaulted at the start of the game, perhaps it is maybe just Marquis, or Sniper classes that benefit too much from aim assist? If that’s the case then wouldn’t it be possible to disable in multiplayer aim assist for PC users while sniping/scoped in? Would that work? how good of an idea it is to make aim assist useless on heroes that benefit far too much from it?

What do you think?

I agree on the fact that it limits improving capabilities … Hell … when I tried the damn thing on Mike for just a few minutes out of curiousity I already noticed a change in my aiming afterwards bc. it was effective and I was already somewhat depending on it.

You said the option was on by default? … as I took my time with the settings before playing my first match I don´t remember if any Aimbot function was switched on by default … o.0 (there are 3 afair … snap on target with iron sights, stick on target and compensate recoil … it´s quite disgusting when you think about it -.-)

In another thread that was contra-aimbot the moderator brought up disabled ppl multiple times and that keeping them out of competetive pvp modes would not be fair but I don´t know what the devs take on that matter is. I personally think it´s more important to deny easy mode to thousands of sissies who should be able to play without an Aimbot than to be the PC principal of shooters …

Alright then, Waiting for release…
Can’t wait to start my progression and see what’s in reward for me. :stuck_out_tongue:

May is going to be a fun month!
Definitely aiming for “Master of Marquis” title

Question to those that know, Will matchmaking be something like “Elo Rating” or some other type of system?

That was me. I brought it up once, but got into a discussion with a very unpleasant individual (who, incidentally, is now banned). Nothing ‘pc’ about it, accessibility for those less fortunate than yourself is just good practice. I didn’t mention competitive multiplayer, either. Please don’t misrepresent me.

And less talk of ‘sissies’, please. Contribute all you like, politely. Name calling isn’t polite.

Geez … sorry then.

I don´t want to misquote you or anyone else, but here´s what i remembered:
… one of the posters in that thread suggested that aim assist should at least be disabled for competetive/ranked mode which the moderator (you?) rejected as there shouldn´t be a part of the game that anyone was refused to take part in.
… wasn´t it something along those lines? (If I got that wrong … care to link the discussion again? :worried:)

And … omg! … I don´t have any problem with features that allow disabled ppl to enjoy a video game (singleplayer or unraked that is) but imo a feature such as aim assist should be disabled in a competetive multiplayer environment to allow even odds for everybody. I think in a subsidary matter such as video games enjoyment of the majority should not be compromised for the enjoyment of a minority (and I guess being shut out from some kind of ranked mode would not hinder anyones enjoyment in any serious form anyway) … but everybody is ofc entitled to his or her oppinion)

… Apparently the devs are going to remove it completely for M/K anyway and calling it an oversight … so I guess they never were as caring as we thought? :hushed:

As long as it’s still present for controller, I don’t see any contradiction. The poster in question was calling for it to be removed completely, in all modes.

Ok, that´s stupid …
As I said … I wouldn´t have any problem with any assisting feature for singleplayer and probably for unranked …
… But I guess I didn´t get that across properly in the comment where I (mis)quoted you.

EDIT: Not that it matters … but I just wanted to add that I am always fine with aim assist for controllers as it is a somehwat inferior … or at least … less precise tool and a little help seems fine to bring it on par.

Okay, no harm done. Let’s move on.

Agree with you here, I wouldn’t mind it actually if console players would have it… I only mind it on Mouse and Keyboard.

And if Aim Assist will stay on PC then unfortunately I will be one of those people that will abuse the system and gain massive advantages for competitive play. So that’s why it’s wise to disable such an option in competitive modes for PC users.

Though, I keep thinking right now, I’ve seen many console players use mouse & keyboard add-ons onto their console, wouldn’t they be able to use aim assist and mouse that way?
Perhaps that’s why someone wanted to disable it for “all”?

I might be getting confused here…

Aim assist will not be possible at release with K&B, it will only active when using inputs from a controller and switches instantaneously between whatever the last input device was as stated by GBX in another thread. As for the difference between Marquis and Thorn as snipers is something of a paradigm shift. Marquis is the traditional sniper role with hit scan, long range scope and fairly weak close range combat. Thorn is not the traditional archer sniper, while her auto attack follows that accustomed feel its her abilities, movement speed, and extremely small hitbox that break this mold. If you are attempting to sit back and take pot shots you will be better served with Marquis. Thorn actually plays extremely well at the mid to close range, with skill power and CR you will be able to dish out a lot of damage between volley and blight while being able to take pot shots from the slow.

Ty for info.

I do disagree with you about weak close range combat, I found myself to be just fine in close combat with my rapid fired pistol and critical shots, perhaps he is too strong in close range I would say and the slow bubble gives him far too many options in how he wants to disengage other players.

Depends who you are fighting close range and what they have to go to town on you with. Phoebe phasegate slow and true strike strafing, wrath spin to win, Galilea/El Dragon stuns I found I couldn’t create distance or out damage them before dying if flanked. I would agree Marquis is not useless in close range but you will need to have a HP advantage against Battleborn with stronger kits in that combat range to consistently win.

I have to agree with you on overgrowth favoring marquis, and auto aim really being over powered. I myself am not that great as a sniper in PVP FPS but with him I racked up 15 kills my first time using him and that a rarity for me if I am not using a more in your face character type.

and I noticed a lot that the enemy snipers were able to drop our sentry from across the map with marquis it was just strait on and as for thorn I noticed an enemy thorn actually use the shot drop of her weapon to her advantage to make hits on both players and sentries from unusual angles.
