PC Players how are you?

All hype has turned (hopefully temporarily) to sad, 5 hours after launch and entire game consists of a screen showing release times.

The game itself is nice but no cloud save, no preorder items, no shift items.
hope they gonna fix that stuff…

The menus have some frustrating UI issues on pc. The dedicated map/log/ect hotkeys don’t work while you’re in menus, so if you’re looking at your sidequests and want to quickly jump to the map screen to see where they are you have to use a different button than the one you’d use to open the map while playing.

There are also a lot of button prompts that don’t change from the default keybinds. I changed my “use” button to something different, but every time I approach a quest giver the game prompts me to press the default hotkey.

was hyped until I saw how badly it runs

The game is interesting. I haven’t encountered any glitches per se. But I have to ask, Gearbox, why can you not reload and strafe at the same time? And please tell me that’s a bug and not a feature. This isn’t Resident Evil. The gun play doesn’t feel as tight as BL2 or TPS, either but that’s a minor complaint compared to the reload issue.
Other than that, I am having fun playing solo so far. From what little I’ve seen of the skills up, they are a slight improvement and you can start using them much sooner. Even got my first legendary at lvl 7 from a standard enemy and vending machines and loot containers have a much higher chance of containing useful items.
Just missing my badass tokens and praying you can save loot for future characters.
That said, it’s an overall positive experience. Best of luck everyone!

I mean theres a bank so yeah you can, badass tokens are after story

Ah, thank you. I’ve kind of been exploring every nook and cranny so I haven’t gotten to the bank yet, but this does put a smile on my face.

Im waiting for 2020 to play. I was so excited to play borderlands 3 and have been prepping for it for months then realized it was not available on steam. Wont use Epic Games . See y’all soon

I am super Salty that I can not play co op with my gf unless i buy two copies of the game. I am probably going to ask for a refund because its not worth it. I would probably eventually pay for the other copy so she could play at other times and co op is available on consoles but pc players get screwed.

Waiting to 2020 with getting the game, same with all my friends. so we have to wait a 12 month more

Zane up to lvl12 now…

  • No crashes
  • Runs fine for me, but I have a new pc (2080 super, i7-9700, 32g ram)
  • Guns all around are more accurate
  • More useful guns early
  • Find myself switching guns more often
  • Vending items better than before
  • Gun sounds…much nicer
  • Reload & move (not!) is annoying (fix/change this pls!!!)

Overall…very enjoyable. Early levels are good fun!

Maliwan legendary nowhere to be found in my mail. :frowning:

I had the same problem with reload & move. I use the arrow keys for walk and they are was overlapping with the emote 1-4 keys so the emotes canceled the reload animation.

Interesting…I use arrow keys as well for movement (lefty). I’ll check the emote key mappings. If this works I owe you big time!!!

Works! This should make the boss fights a little easier now lol. Nothing like being a sitting duck while reloading to ruin your day.

Thank you so much!

This is really useful, thanks!

I can’t get the controller to work on my PC version, I’m disabled and CANNOT play keyboard/mouse. The options/settings say that using a controller is possible, but nothing is working. I’m frustrated and need help, please.

Loving this is was worth the wait for sure. Now I just have to find my Gold Weapons and Butt Stallion skin pack?

I have a ps4 controller attached, and even if its not on steam it still works,…and if i dissable the controller in the game meny the controller still works, try a ps4 controller…cant even disable it.

Pros:

  • Game is a lot of fun in general. It’s definitely more Borderlands.
  • Female COV are awesome and I’m glad they were put in.
  • Guns feel great and are really fun to play around with, other than the performance issues with scoping. I love the new/adjusted features of the different manufacturers. I’m loving Jakobs right now way more than I did in Borderlands 2, and I liked Jakobs quite a bit. You can tell the devs put a lot of thought into making the different manufacturers distinct in ways other than stat distribution.
  • Game wastes no time throwing you right into it. The big zones are a bit overwhelming at first, but I’m sure like any other game, we’ll all get used to it and appreciate the amount of effort they put into the world. The first few zones seem like they were going for an OG Borderlands feel.
  • Side missions are pretty fun. I liked the Virtual Reality one (won’t spoil anything other than that)
  • The little map objectives that pop up like hunted kills for Sir Hammerlock and finding the caches for Tannis add more content which is cool. Lavender Crawly was a fun fight because I was severely under leveled at the time.

Cons:

  • Menu is taking a lot of getting used to.
  • Fast traveling is not fast at all because once again, have to get used to navigating the different layers of the map interface to travel from place to place.
  • Optimization issues are well documented at this point, but scoping blows right now, among other things.
  • Lilith’s voice actor seems to not do a very good job of getting in character. She seems very robotic in her lines. Has anyone else felt this way?
  • Vehicle controls and combat are both awful. Just awful. Borderlands 2 was much better. My opinion.
  • Certain key binds straight up don’t work. I always rebind sprint to T, and the T button doesn’t seem to do anything at all. I also tried Y, also doesn’t work. I tried binding the different weapon ‘modes’ to T and Y after failing to bind it to sprint and they also do not work. Switched it to U and it works. What’s going on with certain key binds? Are they hard coded to be reserved for something?
  • Not a huge fan of the new ‘climbing/mantling’ mechanic. It’s being used as a gimmick a little too much and it’s very frustrating when you keep falling.
  • Mentioned before, but general movement feels a lot different than Borderlands 2. At first I felt like I was sliding on ice with just regular walking. I’m getting used to it, but it’s definitely not as ‘crisp’ as Borderlands 2. In time, this may end up turning into a pro, but I don’t like it as of right now.

Looking forward to getting back into it this evening despite the performance issues.

I’m doing great, thank you. How are you?
