I’ve had luck there
My game seems to be unnaturally stingy as well (lvl 72, UVHM), based on everyone else’s finds. Example - Less_than0, in the tournament thread, says “I wish I could have posted my run with 3 tubbies and the black queen. I picked up a Beckah, a Butcher, a Veruc and a deliverance…along with the class mods”. In my game, that haul would take a week at least, except for the Veruc - while farming for a Lyuda, four Verucs dropped before Gettle finally coughed up the gun I was after. And out of the six 1st-gen pearls that I have found, only one was/is actually useful to either of my current characters.
Blah blah blah - shure is not alone in wondering why the Tubbies are both scarce and stingy.
Has this been before or after the new patch?
The new patch being the adjusted drop rates? I started lvl’ing my Maya around the same time that GBX began tweaking the drop rates, and I was 100% on-line, then and now.
This I did not know until earlier today, and that explains a lot.
I was just wondering what your luck would be with the new patch.
I had good luck with picking up Pearlescents that weren’t named Bearcat, as for Bearcat. I’m surprised they didn’t come complimentary with every Pizza from Moxxi’s. I started giving them away to my friends randomly.
My best run ever mobley and gettle both dropped, BQ dropped a nukem, and 2 tubbies dropped a bearcat, a storm and a L. Reaper. Long time ago.
The amount of time that I’ve spent farming tubbies at lvl 72 is absurd for the return. I’ve seen 3 pearls drop in hundreds and hundreds (and even more hundreds) of kills. The drop rate is insanely low.
Luckily 1 of them was a Bekah, but it has a Jakobs stock with some nasty recoil which kinda sucks. It’s still pretty awesome though. Other 2 drops were Avengers and made me extremely salty.
The drop rates are so bad, that i just don’t care anymore. Love this game and I’ve put soooo much time into it, but rates that low just kill any interest in farming for that particular item. It’s just not worth it for the amount of time I have to put into the game right now.
OR You have a pearl drop but it is underleveled. Happens quite frequently.
(Tubby Midget dropping a OP7 Wanderlust, c’mon RNG)
There are really only two guns I’m after at this point, a Bekah and a Twister. I’m not sure which has the worse odds of dropping.
The Twister. Spawning 3-O is a PITA, even more than Vermi.
a few weeks ago I was farming for tubbies in the Dust, when I saw another tubby walking around, It dropped a cowboy bekah, I was extremely lucky I guess, but it shows its still possible to get them.
I don’t know about that. Triple O has a very high chance of dropping it and that’s it. The spawning is annoying but if you know what you’re doing it’s still better than a rare enemy who appears entirely at random who has a small chance of dropping one of 12 different guns.
@BlackHeartV - thanks a lot for the info - I hadn’t realised there was a separate loot pool for Pearls. I guess I can stop being annoyed at all the orange drops from tubbies, since they’re not stopping the Pearls from dropping. Maybe getting to OP8, then farming. would be “easier” than a L72 farm then… and I’d been putting off on OP levels because of the difficulty! 
@shure - about getting tubbies to appear, I’m pretty sure if you visit Hyperius’ gate to activate 4-player difficulty, then do the first Creature Slaughter round repeatedly, you’ll see about the same tubby rate as I did - about 2 tubbies every 3 runs. It is a really reliable way to spawn them as you can see from the notes I pasted. and you don’t have to quit-save between runs. The only trick (apart from coping with 4-player mode solo) is to make sure not to kill all the enemies in the last round. Usually there’s 3 or 4 spiderlings at the end. I mostly just ran away from them, jumped up against a wall and rocketed myself in the face, though one time the stupid spiderlings jumped after me as I did it, and I accidentally took them out.

That’s incredibly lucky. My only fear of when a pearl actually does drop is that it will be underleveled and or not the Bekah.
Probably the Bekah. I remember when the Hammerlock Hunt Dlc came out my friend and I spawned OOO and got the twister. We had no idea how rare of an occasion it was
I’ve probably gotten 5 pearls on my way to level 72. They don’t seem that rare. Idk I just might be lucky.
I got about that amount myself. First on was pure luck. Picked up a Storm from a LLM. Level 50 some odd.
Please do not ask for dupes in these forums. GBX consider it cheating.
Also, the Godfinger can’t be lower than 62 legitimately anyway.
ok thanks for heads up and do you know the percent chance of a cobra droping from burners
Supposedly it’s 0.08% but I can’t confirm that for real. It is however definitely insanely rare.
