I currently have 711 hours into the official release of Battleborn.

Have Mastered/Maxed many characters, made it through the Alani snafu. . .

Got going with Pendles in Advanced story mode soon as he released and posted many of my findings here.

Yesterday I decided to try him in PvP. This was going to be easy because I had maxed him with nearly 30 hours.

Nope, nope, nope! The enemy team had an Atticus that wiped me out!

They also had an Ambra+Deande combo that wiped me out!

I’m not complaining, just saying if I’m this good with Pendles why wasn’t I the God the forums make him out to be.

I like Pendles, don’t like any of his skins, or his outline in PvE, not even the one when he’s down, but. . .
Playing Pendles is a blast, and in PvE Advanced games he’s got such great team boosting potential.

He’s IMO kinda meh in PVP.

I personally love him in pvp; however, he is truly a finisher. I didn’t find that he had the killing power to take a (good) battleborn from full health + shield to death. You REALLY need to pick on already weakened/distracted/overextended battleborn.

He was best used against me when I was focussing on wave clearing with another enemy battleborn in front of me. You HAVE to turn around when he’s hitting you in the back as he does bonus damage from behind. This forces your focus off the wave clear and allows the enemy battleborn to pummel you in the back which in turn can force you to retreat out of lane.

He’s the annoying sliver in your foot that you just can’t find and remove. I play pugs almost exclusively, but I can see him being brutal if a team has good communication (which pugs rarely have on Xbox).

…That’s what our team felt about the enemy Pendles.
He constantly came into our base, destroyed things, then ran away.
While I do see that as a good tactic is was really making the team mad.

Pendles has made zero cost shard generators almost a mandatory gear option now.

I can’t even begin to count the amount of times I have teleported back to base for health to find our thumpers destroyed.

I mean more XP for building…yay…but all of my shards end up getting used on those and then I have none left for exelorators, stingers, and giant minions. I feel guilty activating gear knowing I’m likely letting the enemy team score more minions due to a lack of defences.
