Pendles, Toby, Taunting, & Time Outs

In Meltdown, I’ve never, ever felt worthless as Toby though. Toby can kill the enemy minions in one lane with ease. Especially if you have the legendary gear and take the slow.
Last thing on this topic, but- even in Meltdown, with a Marquis on the other side he can just Eins-Zwei-pop your shield, as there’s nowhere you can put that thing where
a) you can shoot the minion wave while
b) the enemy can’t shoot it right back (the rail shot has a hitbox, so it won’t clear edges that Marquis’ hitscan shot will)

You can use your mines, but if you’re reduced to firing out mines and hiding then almost literally any other BB could do your job and more. And any Marquis worth his salt will shoot the mines, just to add to the insult.

Well, I still think that Toby is one of the better wave clearers, even when you got a Marquis that keeps killing your shield.
Just don’t use your shield, only run forward to use your mines, then quickly go back again. Stand back as far as possible, and try to hide a part of the left of Toby’s hitbox, Marquis won’t be able to hit you so easily. If he can hit you, just charge your shots behind a wall, and only show yourself to shoot.
Two slowing mine and some shots just kill the entire wave. Two mines at least kill the tiny minions, and with shepard in front of one of those mines means that the mine has done enough damage already before Marquis can kill it.

Yeah, it makes your job a lot harder, but I’ve always been able to at least kill the enemy minions on one side all the time, no matter how good the enemy Marquis is. I actually even have more trouble with a good Thorn. ;p

I just think that Toby’s mine needs a fixed hit box. I get stunned by it when it lands next to me sometimes, when it should stun you on a direct hit. Pendles is fine. The hardest thing about playing against Pendles is learning how to spot him when he’s in is and overall map awareness. His numbers and kit are perfectly fine.

IMO, the thing that gets me is the damage thorns ult does. It’s just ridiculous. Orendi’s ult does a lot too but at least she doesn’t have arrows that devastate as well. Thorn has a lot of damage for very little risk trade off.

As far as taunting goes, I agree with what has been said. It’s a game, don’t let taunts get the best of you. The taunts are usually funny and lighthearted HOWEVER I’m not a huge fan of (again) thorn’s middle finger taunt. Also she’s just too serious. All of her taunts are rage-inducing. By that I mean thorn is just mad and her taunts show it

I think I’ve mentioned this on another thread, but I don’t think Orendi’s reveal works as intended since they changed it. The description says enemies NEAR Orendi are revealed when she uses shadowfire pillar, when in reality, it reveals anyone within line of sight. I haven’t tested this extensively but I was playing Pendles last weekend and Orendi was always a good distance away from me when I was revealed (yes she was the only one with reveal on their team). On overgrowth it’s especially bad

If you think only reveal counter Pendles, you are wrong: Rifts-stack safe zone.

And take on Orendi with Pendles? You never encountered a Orendi who know how to deal with Pendles then. Else you’d know that her reveal zone is really big, and she can get your shield and half of your health with only her ult.
Basically, in 2 skills, she kill you.

And Ernest can set up 4 reveals that are barely noticeable (Who can also auto-explode). And you can’t kill that bird that easily (Between his Escape, overall survivability and the damage output he can do)

That is why you wait a orendi waiting to shadow fire pillar JUST to reveal you is a bad orendi, as for kleese he is OP right now, and every one knows not to get in his rifts

The thing is a lot of characters are fast and strong
Rath
Caldarius
Mellka
And orendi
Also pendles is only fast when he’s cloaked when uncloaked he’s one slow mf
I would be fine with that. You know how often those damned things get stuck on corners, friendly minions, friendly players, the damned shields on a sentry/gun without even touching it? Augh.

Doesn’t have to wait, Pardigm reset it, or even put one under your butt.
So yes, you never had a good Orendi.

And yes, that’s why it’s called a safe zone.
Basically, making an entire team impervious to be killed by a melee character with low health pool.

Yeah I have, it’s a pain but simply be a GOOD pendles
I can wait for two shadowfire pillars for a 2 second reveal

Not really a two second reveal. If you use smoke bomb to escape then she just has to use a shadowfire pillar to reveal you and you are SOL.

Re-read what i said.

That helix is level 10

On a character that get tons of exp, and can reveal you without even trying to.

What’s your point anyway?

This in no way meant to be offensive
But lol.
She can chuck those things out all day long. I never let myself have them off cooldown with an enemy Pendles unless bursting someone down. Encore doubles reveal. It’s in full LoS at making it a problem to all assassination attempts with her nearby. Lifesteal keeps her from being low for you to get the kill. Nullify gives her a disengage and shield back immediately. She can blind you, showing where you are. At level ten, either you’re blinded, showing you, there’s a pillar showing you, or she throws out more pillars showing you. I’ve never been killed by a lone Pendles with Orendi. And even then, only the best I’ve seen have gotten me only twice. Very easy to counter

What’s Ernest’s escape?

Nade jump (If done well, you can go way further than Attikus can)

Oh, if you right helix on level 1?

Nice!

I like watching Ambra fly across the map after I sticky bomb her.

Yep. I always choose it for that reason.

You might be a good Pendles, but at the end of the day Orendi is his biggest counter, plain and simple (Ambra is a damn close 2nd). That’s the only point Corrsk is trying to make. And if you disagree with that, well, I’ve got some bad news for you lol
