I really try not to b***h and complain too much about games I genuinely love and enjoy, but I am getting fed up with allies leaving matches.

Heck, even enemies leaving matches!

I’m sure im just on the bad end of a rotten curve, but it’s been happening a LOT lately!

I mean, I’ll play any match from start to finish, good or bad.

Even if you’re CR 100 playing a Mastered character, there aren’t many things you can do in Battleborn that won’t give you progress toward some challenge or other, at

EDIT: FINISHING POST

At the very least, you always get credits and general Battleborn experience / practice.

And who knows?

If you stick around and focus, you might be able to pull off a crazy reversal, or get an unexpectedly high number of kills / assists as the other team crashes themselves against your defenses!

IN the particular match that caused me to post this, one of our players left after they did FOUR DAMAGE TO OUR SENTRY EARLY MATCH!

The other one left after our first sentry fell with 12 minutes left.

All that remained were me, a KLEESE, and an Ambra.

We plsyed hard D but also fit some offence in there!

We all got crazy kill / assist counts and managed to sneak some Thralls in and bring their outer Sentry down to very low health!

It’s SO frustrating when people leave!

I’ve had people leave when we are WINNING, never to rejoin!

WHY?

Thanks for listening!

It just happened AGAIN!!!

Monuments.

Close battle.

Winning.

Ally leaves.

Why god why?!!

Unless it’s an obvious example of rage quitting, I like to give em the benefit of the doubt and say that real life got in the way.

But yeah, tis annoying when it happens.

I really hate matches where we are all level 4 and our allies want to surender when we have a whiskey an el dragon or even a Montana. All of these characters need to hit level 5 or 6 to really get going and turn the tide of battle pretty hard

There is no real life.

Only BB.

(I’m just annoyed)

If an ally or enemy quits and doesn’t rejoin, I’ll usually report them unless I know there are extenuation circumstances behind the quiting. I’ve had more than a few times where my team was doing very well and we reported people on the enemy team for leaving: going from 5 men to 3 against a decent 5 man team is not fun for either side: the 5 man team’s victory feels hollow and the 3 man team feels like they may have had a chance if the disconnects didn’t happen. But I really hate it when people call for a surrender, don’t get it, and then just rage quit; I report them too.

I posted this in another thread yesterday:

The situation with quitters and AFKers continues to be bad. Most days that I play there are quitters and some AFKers in matches. Today I played 8 matches (Incursion) and in 6 of these 8 there were quitters (a couple or so went AFK before they quit).

It’s now got to the stage that I’m not looking forward to playing Battleborn any more due to the number of matches spoiled by quitters and AFKers. I’m sure I’m not the only one either. :frowning:

BTW I report every single quitter and AFKer in the games I play, whether on my team or the other side.

I wish @JoeKGBX and @Jythri would give us some feedback on how the reporting feature in doing and maybe some actions taken to players in general. Also, what the next stage is in dealing with quitters and AFKers as this problem really needs addressing.

Yeah, the “if you quit you must wait til your current match is finished to start a new match” “punishment” just doesn’t cut it.

BUT!

How do you deal with legit “my connection is terrible” or “a family member was dying” legit had to leave people?

You look for a pattern of quitting. If it’s the first time somebody left a match and it wasn’t after a failed surrender vote, something might have come up or their connection may have been lost. If the pattern repeats itself, then it bears looking into. Personally I would group serial quitters together until they decide to stop doing that because it ruins the game for everybody else. It’s one thing to surrender when you know you have no chance of winning, it’s quite another to just leave.

Great idea!

^ this.

There’s no reason to punish one-off quitters, legitimate or otherwise. It’s the serial quitters who are the problem (and there are those who repeatedly quit). Something needs to be done about these people, such as matchmaking them together rather than with the rest of us until they behave and stop quitting.

Any thoughts on the people who leave when you are winning?

Like hard fought toe to toe down to the wire barely winning?

That happened to me a LOT this weekend / this new week!

Same as my last post.

Hiya. There’s not a lot to report publicly at this point, other than to say we are indeed receiving reports and looking into them, as well as trends with reports. Because discipline regarding reports is a private, personal matter, we likely won’t make very many announcements when we take action.

At the moment, though, the reporting feature is functioning as expected and is another good step working towards our ability to improve your experience.
