Is that a bucket?
Not its a small habitat inside a plastic cup.

Love that last one
I’m so sorry Tokes, it’s an utterly miserable thing to have to do, really heartbreaking. It’s not a betrayal though; the right thing to do, even though it doesn’t necessarily feel like it.
Dear lord, I started welling up when I saw that last picture. Our Scout was almost identical , she lived to 17 as well and was the sweetest dog I’ve ever known. We had a vet friend of ours come to our house to do the deed about 3 years ago - our two shepherds and our cat were there for her. I’ve never truly gotten over her or our two shepherds, Kenya and Cyra who have both since died.
Crying my eyes out now. Peace to you.
@Tokesy97 Peace man. Hard stuff. I know.
Somehow my little rough time just seem insignificant. Good thing you shared it.

Brainstorming ideas for a custom double decker turtle tank. When i get off work i have to
A. Find a spot big enough in my room
Or
B. Rearrange my room
Edit: went with B. Planning on a 5 feet long, 3 feet wide, 4 feet tall 2 tank turtle display/enclosure/habitat type thing. All for 4 red eared sliders(up to about 8 inches long is their average length)
That is a terrible idea a stacked tank. Each half of that tank would weigh roughly 1800 lbs. Total weight, with the minimum 3/4" thick tank. This guy, without sand, logs, etc, will weigh over 2 tons. Hope your floor can take it. Better off having all 4 turtles in a pond, since sliders get up to 10-12 inches, not 8. 10 gallons per inch of turtle. This setup is roughly 450 gallons.
I think you’re way over estimating this honestly, weight wise i mean. No way will i have 450 gallons of water. I’m building the “tanks” so they’ll be stronger than store bought ones and won’t have a glass bottom. I did decide to build just 1 tank 1st then add on later.
Edit for clarity: the tanks(calling them tanks becuase idk a better name) will only be 10 to 12 inches tall, so only about a 3’×3’ by 5 inches of water
Edit 2: turns out you’re right about 10 gallons per inch and how big they get.
well you said 5x3x4 feet, which is 60 cubic feet of water. a cubic foot of water is 7.48 gallons, 8 pounds to a gallon.
60x7.48=448.8 (gallons)
448.8x8=3590.4 plus the weight of the tank.
And your new specs, 3’x3’x5, is actually about perfect. That’ll give you 25 gallons a tank.
You’ve been very helpful. I’ve scraped the 2 tanks stacked design in favor of 1 deeper tank. Same 3’×3’ perimeter(for the water), but at least 1 foot deep.
