Very true. Iv watched a good amount of M10 gameplay and honestly the difficulty seems well incomplete. Majority of the more creative or “fun” builds are extremely mut past M3 or 5. Action skills like Phasecast don’t do any kind of meaningful damage, enemies easily swarm you and sponge up ammo. If your looking for M10 builds your pretty much looking at CC like most people have said. Phaseslam and Cast both under preform similar to FL4Ks pets and most of Mozes IB weapons. Stop Gap/ Last Stand are a good survivablaty combo. Add in Mindfulness, and Sustainment for you actually healing.
Honestly Mayhem Mode is leaning a bit to much towards being like OP levels for my liking. I felt like most characters leaned more towards aggressive skills in this game and the defensive ones where all created with the idea that shields would make up for any inadequacies similar to OP levels. If that is the mind set then this would explain why like Salvador (without Moxxi weapons) struggles so much to stay alive on higher difficulties. But Sustainmemt is a thing you just need enough elemental damage to support quick healing.

I use a tanky shield (Transformer), Sustainment and 2 points in Infusion so kinetic weapons can heal me too. That’s it really. Sustainment is really OP since the buff, full health as long as you’re hitting something, especially with M10 weapons.
Recently I’ve come to use a Kaoson as my secondary/safeguard gun because of its synergy with Sustainment: since the explosions heal you too, you’re being healed all the time even during reload.
The Kaoson is basically the perfect no compromise weapon. High, sustained damage, awesome handling, splash, elemental, no self damage. Pure upside.

It’s kinda halfway up the list of weapons that I don’t enjoy that much because too simple/straightforward/perfect. Fun wise I still prefer the Hyperfocus XZ41, but when it comes to survivability, that Kaoson/Sustainment interaction definitely helps.
I can understand that. Using something completely OP is really fun… for about 2 hours, when you realize that there’s nothing left to do with it. “No-compromise” doesn’t always mean “all fun.” But yes, with the Kaoson and sufficient ammo, Amara is nearly unkillable. I stand at the far end of the Takedown bridge, in front of the forcefield door, and just kill everything. Health spends fractions of a second below max.
The main problem with M2.0 is that the game only functions with a couple of weapons at the highest difficulty, which are in fact reprints of older weapons or new M6+ exclusive drops. I got bored really quickly because the fun-factor of Borderlands, at least for me, is build diversity and trying to come up with unique playstyles. This is prohibited due to the fact, that M10 is not actually hard with the new weapons. I wouldn’t mind a hard-mode, but as it is right now you can easily faceroll the game with Ties That Bind and some of the new weapons (Kaoson, Sand Hawk, Yellowcake ect.) at M10. So, why even bother?
And most of the old gear got left behind, which they at least acknowledged and want to adress in future patches. So, I’d rather wait for future patches and maybe UVHM to pick up the game again. At least in OP levels in BL2 a ton of weapons are viable at the highest diffculty, so I would not compare the current state of BL3 to OP levels in BL2.
Your OPQ is probably hitting you with its splash. Stand back abit and make sure the explosions can’t catch you. Because as long as you are doing damage sustainment can keep you alive through a stinger barrage.
