Phoebe and the Heart of Ekkunar Discussion

If it’s the one I’m thinking of:

Not that one. The one circled in this map.

Note: The red X is the one you’re referring to.

I’d like to know about this as well. There’s clearly a jump pad there, but I couldn’t Phasegate onto it with Phoebe…

I only played it 5 times as of writing this.

My first impression, which was heavily damaged by the fact that the f***ing game disconnected after the Varelsi arena and made me lose all my progress, is a 7/10.

The mission itself, if things are going smoothly and none of this garbage happens, is an 8/10. 8.5 even, considering whatever the hell we got so far when it came to Operations. This is another reason why always online is a double edge sword that hurts you more often than it doesn’t.

OP5 just makes OP4 look like absolute trash.

I’m not even kidding.

It is long, but has ways of dropping extra lives and even with a bit of extra loot. OP4 fails at this.

Each area is filled with enemies. OP4 does this for the most part, until you realize they just stack the game’s most difficult enemies all at once, thinking that would be suffice.

Easy enough to hunt down OPs points, although I often miss 1… OP4 does this equally well.

Reaching level 10 is very possible. I can’t say the same for OP4… or any of the other two that wasn’t OP1.

The pacing overall makes very little of it boring, you’re seeing action within 10 seconds of the game. OP4 has too much running at the beginning.

Challenges are precise and to the point. OP4 does this relatively well -except the conservator challenge where at least half the skills used are bugged.

The narrative, at least, seems to be leading the Battleborn forward, instead of minor adventures that don’t seem to play much in the grand scheme of things. We, Royal 'We", are diving deep into the core of a planet, you can’t get more important than that. OP4’s most vital story was Nova’s robot suit has not been forgotten and GBX will work hard to make it a reality… My take on it is that it made the first 9 stories in OP4 near pointless.

Boss doesn’t do variety of soft CCs, multiple types of one-shots, summoning guys that can also one shot, making the fighting arena into a death pit, one shots, disorients, one shots… Wait, OP4 did all of this s**t.

OP5 looks like a brilliant masterpiece, the feeling is exacerbated by how garbage OP4 was. So thank you, OP4, your existence was to make other works look and feel better. Aren’t you proud of yourself to serve only that purpose?

OP5 has its problems, primarily the varelsi arena right before the boss. It looks like something made for a 5 man, and that spot, despite how much I love killing loads of varelsi to reach level 10, will start looking like a crapshow at higher ops. This portion might need to be adjusted. Also, this DLC is not good to farm commander packs, which is a shame.

Overall, I like OP5 quite a bit -probably fueled greatly by my hatred for OP4 and OP2.

Just finished the 3rd playthrough. The lore is really interesting and the scenery fantastic. Goldtooth looks cool.

So the boss glitched and disappeared, leaving the level unfinishable.

What the hell…

How the hell did this get past Q+A?

I just wasted 30 mins of my time. I could have been sleeping and yet instead I watched my efforts turned to dust.

Get this fixed.

Immediately.

Happened twice to me. Felt bad.
@JoeKGBX @Jythri just pinging you guys in case it’s not something on the radar yet.

I’m not playing this again until I get some confirmation about it fixed.

I have no interest of going through that repeat of what the f**k I just went through. I even advise everyone to stop playing before you watch your effort blow up in smoke; you’ll want to punch someone when it happens.

What a way to start OP5 with completely wasting your time.

DLC 5 - A TON OF FUN! :dukejk:

This game has a long history of “oops, we’ll fix it.”

I NEED ANSWERS ON IT. STAT. THEY RAISED MORE QUESTIONS THAN WERE ANSWERED.

but for real though, I do love that this was a very lore-heavy DLC that delved deeper (heh) into the history of the universe. while the ending took me by surprise 100%, i’m glad to see the answers we were given.

on the other hand, i want answers about everything else unanswered asap as possible plz

I think it’s safe to assume Gbx isn’t done with battleborn by the ending of this op.

Could you tell me what happens? It’s gonna be probabaly about a week until I can get to the tenth Op

I certainly hope not; there are still things they said they’d fix.

…The main thought seems to be between Phoebe and Kelvin about the Thrall and Varelsi just wanting to get home.
There are shards growing out of the walls and she doesn’t know why.
Kelvin mentions the Thrall’s bodies seem to be talking. References Salmon spawning, it’s very odd.
