However, this is one of the biggest threads in the forum at the moment and all the posts prior to mine have been about the game and also asking for some feedback. I say game because right now it’s just a £50 shiny disc.It’s Rankles me that now there’s a response because of a violation to your T&C’s.
I too am having this problem. Played the game yesterday on my friend’s pc. Spent 80 bucks on my day off here in Toronto to buy the game. And its not working…
The thing is that people who currently have the game patched are not having issues. So its something related to new players not being able to get the patch. If they could post something where we can get the patch or fix the auto patching that would be swell!

My role here is to jump in when people break rules so that is what we do.
Now if I know helpful information as a part of the community I do share it but in this case I don’t have that.

Same issue here in Texas. Bought game 1hr ago and get player initiation failed… failed to complete patching process. Very disappointed on both sides of the issue whom ever it may be. This is crap.

Failed to complete patch. Many of us are receiving this error message just after purchasing and or downloading this game. If anyone knows Owsley the issue please post. Internet connection is fine.

The amount of reports it is getting for errors at these times is getting higher and if you read through comments this is happening for games like Final Fantasy, Destiny, Battlefield, and Call of Duty.

Having same issue in California.
Oh and I notice something the battleborn box says the game is 16 GB but when I looked the game is 15.84 GB which means the game didn’t install the full game and it’s bugged as hell
This isn’t a problem on gearbox or 2K’s side guys, as mentioned above its a problem with PSN. For some reason there is currently a bug that is preventing newly installed games from updating to the most recent patch, hence this is only an issue for players who have purchased the game recently. If you go to the ps4 support forums there are loads of posts of people complaining that their games wont update and are stuck on v1.0.0.
It sucks but it looks like we’re just going to have to wait for sony to get their act together.
Ive talked to 4 playstation network representatives 3 said theres absolutely nothing wrong, after the first chat, the man said spn is experiencing technical difficulties and to call back, the other chats consisted of me opening ports and making my ps4 ip static. And rebhilding the ps4 database. Idk what it is but theyre either unwilling to aknowledge its their problem and think its the devs problems, or its actually the devs problems. Idk. So upsetting though.
I recieved a reply for my ticket from 2k/gearbox support, they told me to try signing in and out after id explained everything we have tried.
South Texas, same issue. currently tweeting back and forth with the PlayStation Twitter and so far they are giving me the usual bs. Hopefully issue is resolved soon.

Thanks for your help, those who have added to the conversation. And thanks to everyone building up the issue. Squeaky wheel gets the grease, meaning, if we make enough noise somebody is bound to notice and hopefully help.
No updates as yet. Can’t patch so can’t play right now. Maybe PSN issue maybe Gearbox. Leaning towards PSN but no one is saying anything so the speculation continues.
