Please add option to start at 30

The whole ‘start at lvl 30’ deal was added because that was the last DLC BL2 would get. With the game completed, there was little need to prevent players from having to start from scratch. Plus, the level cap was 80 by that point so starting at 30 was reasonable. You still had 50 lvls to go before maxing out. So, don’t expect this game to do it until we get up to 70 or so in levels. If you don’t feel like putting in the work to get to know your character, then tough cookies.

i just need that option even if it come one year later and hope the next game will have this at lounch

Clearly, you just want things spoon fed to you. The rest of us however, appreciate the challenge and work required when starting a new game from scratch, so it’s not a waste of time for the developers.

I feel like there isn’t much need to grind for levels as I’ve hit 50 on two characters just by beating normal story and doing some side quests. I like this leveling balance since I’ll already be at max level by my TVHM playthrough and thus wont outlevel cool mission rewards. But playing through the story twice with each character will be a grind; it’s rough already on playthrough 4. I am enjoying it though. I feel like a solution would be to unlock TVHM for all characters once you’ve beaten it on one. After all, you start with the choice between easy and normal with each new character. On the other hand, then you’ll outlevel a lot of cool gear and have to grind anyway if you want it.
And I guess rather than starting a new character at level 30 on TVHM you could scale health and damage while retaining other aspects of the difficulty, that way players have the full experience of leveling from 1 to 50 however they want on max difficulty. I also feel like you should retain the eridian relics from normal mode when you start TVHM (I don’t know whether or not this is actually the case). I’m not sure how I feel about mayhem mode yet. I can see how letting players jump right into the hardest difficulty is hard to implement and balance.

hahaha alright i complete the game twice but i want to start with other character but not in the normal mode at least it way to easy because the guardian rank and the loot it’s not good until you beat the game and start on mayhem just let me complete the story once then open the vhm mode for every character so i can replay the story harder than before and gets more better loot

this is exactly what i mean it’s hard when you complete the game twice and then all over again especially when the normal mode not that fun

I’d love the option to start at 30 after beating the campaign. I didn’t have any problems soloing with Fl4k, but it’s been rough with other characters. My demolition Moze got better around 26-28… and then stalled out on TVHM, but that’s another story.

Gearbox still isn’t going to implement that.

that right it’s rough go all again with normal because more easy and not rewarding enough

i don’t know what you mean ???

It’s not hard, if you’re referring to how enemies tend to be under level during normal play, that’s more or less a bug because enemies should be scaling to your level no matter what. So again, you are not going to be taking the easy way out just to get completion on all four characters. Where is the fun in that?

hmm i mean the normal mode it;s so easy when you replaying because the guardian rank and during the whole campaign there not really good loot but if you let me start vhm right away because i already complete the story once it will by more fun

Which, again, was caused by enemies being too far underpowered when you returned to certain areas. Think the second time you visited Promethea and were a couple levels higher than the first time you went in. You’d be singing a different tune if the enemies were scaled better. And jumping into TVHM right from the start is a sure way to get killed and frustrate your team if you play online. That’s like jumping into Expert on L4D2 because you thought normal was too easy, then promptly die and get kicked for being a load to the team.

good point

I dont like the idea of starting at 30. I do think after you beat campain once you should be able to start any new toon and be able to pick tvhm and mayhem as long as its unlocked on any toon in your account.
Normal mode is to easy even without gardian rank. At least starting in tvhm everything levels with you. More exp better loot.

Definitely, I leveled up two now (■■■■ and Amara) and I certainly not gonna level up two others and watching all the unskippable cutscenes again!

like i said it’s option you want to start at 30 ok if not you can

Wait. You want to start at level 30… AT LAUNCH?

It takes time to learn a new character and how their mechanics work. Jumping in at 30 won’t help you reach the full potential of that characters playstyle. There are intricacies of playing another character that you just have to learn first hand. Being lv 30 or 50 doesn’t make you good, it’s how you’ve learned to play on your journey that makes you a good player.

I wouldn’t mind the slog as much with running through normal before TVHM if the cutscenes and long dialog sessions where the next objective is locked until the speech ends were removed. I know GB addressed this somewhat in one of their latest community messages, but I am sure it won’t be sufficient to make it dramatically better when they roll out that update. i’d rather have Mayhem mode unlocked for new characters at normal than going straight to TVHM, preferably both though.
