Except the core game doesn’t work fine to a lot of players. A friend on the xbox can’t play because it randomly shuts down his xbox. Yes the GAME randomly shuts down his xbox.

So what is your argument that my friend shouldn’t be pissed right now? He plays the game for about 30-60 minutes and it randomly shuts down his xbox and Microsoft has already responded to him that gearbox is working on this issue and if he continues to play the game it can damage his xbox.

It is not an xbox problem, it is a gearbox issue which is known to Microsoft AND gearbox.

Again, how is the core game available to him?

so what every one is saying is PS4 master race for bl3?..im only kidding…

Well PC is master race, but I will be playing on my xbox until BL3 is released on Steam.

I just love how posters like @riverhale4 just want to defend gearbox blindly and try to lay the blame on the players which is just outright odd. Maybe he works for Gearbox? No idea but people need to realize the game is not playable to a lot of people, not just because of the console shutdown, but I have to restart my xbox every few hours just because the lag builds up so much before I can’t aim anymore.

Tons of things are wrong with the game making it unplayable to a lot of people, just because you aren’t having issues stop acting like they aren’t.

never said that ppl wasnt having the issues but thats odd that u gotta restart ur system cause of lag build up my ps4 pro hasn’t been turned off but maybe 3 times since launch of bl3 even now while im at work i bet some one has it on at the house actually i know they do cause i can see the recent activity log on my phone lol…a lot of issues have been pc and xbox ive noticed i mean i notice the occasional image not loading fast enough an makes it kinda blurry but thats all performance wise.

He’s correct however. If you were able to finish the game from start to finish the core gameplay is working.

Sure, and most people can finish the game, but a lot of people can’t.

Another person here can’t even get past the loading screen with cl4ptrap as it freezes, so for him he can’t even start the core game.

I can finish the core game after I restart my xbox a dozen times, so I guess it is fine for me also.

Lots of people can’t get past certain cutscenes because the game freezes on them, so they can’t finish the core game.

Never had the game freeze up on me on claptrap screen. On DX11 it goes through so fast i don’t even see him, while on DX12 it takes a few minutes to load but never had a crash during the load. Just patience :).

Can’t speak for consoles because I only play BL games on PC.

I will be playing on PC when it is released on Steam, until then I am ok with the xbox, if they could just fix the lag a little.

If you don’t want to hear me gripe then don’t feel the need to read and reply, it’s a forum.

I’m not the only one whose had these issues or feels this way.

Opinion is definitely divided but I don’t tell fellow forum members to stop whining if I don’t agree with their defense.

That’s interesting to hear, I’d be interest to hear if there are any findings as to why it’s been receiving less problems on Playstation.
I have addressed a lot of the issues I had to Microsoft in case it was something their end causing all the problems if not a mix of both.

i would like to hear if it is problems across all consoles or if there are more with pc an xbox from what i have read on here tho not just this page but the whole site xbox an pc hit hard with issues. but yeah other then clear image on map load makes stuff kinda blurry but bl2 still has that issue so i didnt think much about it. i mean yeah perfect performance would be good but other than my issues with the story an the blurr if have a positive experience…lol u could slide that season pass my way since u going for the refund lol…na ps store would die before they let something like that happen lmao they didnt even announce cross plat play when it went live lmao…

Like you said, gearbox is working on the issue. I agree that this is an example of an egregious issue that no player should have to deal with; but regarding the examples the original person posted, those were not examples that affected the core game. With your friends case, I agree that perhaps some form of compensation is in order and hopefully they have his issue fixed before too long.

He has the same attitude I do in that neither of us want to return the game as we know we will love it when it gets fixed, it’s just incredibly frustrating that is was released in the current state.

People seem to refuse to want to hold game companies accountable for putting out a bad product.

Can you imagine buying a car in the condition BL3 was released in?

You are doing an excellent job of attacking a straw man. All that I stated was that the issues that the original poster discussed were not major issues that prevented them from playing the game. If you find it odd that I am upset at entitled people who expect compensation for minor issues with a game then you probably are one of those entitled people as well.

Can’t we all agree that we just want the game to be fun and work for everyone? That’s what I want and I believe that people attacking the developers over small things are not helping fix the game at all. I understand that there are some, perhaps many, who can’t play the game at all and I am sympathetic towards them and support their desire for a refund.

Yes, we should hold companies accountable for the products they release. A triple A title such as this should not have been released with all of these glaring issues, However, I would prefer for the company to fix the issues than them being steamrolled into the ground by an angry mob. If we want the game to become what we as fans know it can be, we do not accomplish that by tearing everything down. We accomplish that through constructive criticism.

Whether we are happy or not, we are all along for the ride now. If we start tearing this boat apart, we will all drown.

The difference is I am not expecting compensation, I just wish the company cared a little more about its customer base, because to me they have exactly zero concern for us.

Again, what retail business could you sell a product in the shape BL3 is in and expect anyone not to be upset? It was most certainly not ready to be released but they did anyway.

I just want the game to be playable by the people that purchased it. I am lucky I can although with a ton of lag at times, but a few friends can’t even get the game to get past the lillith cutscene at the end of Pandora because it freezes there in the same spot for both of them.

I have reported a ton of things so far without animosity in the bug reports, but if everyone simply gave a straight bug report and never talked about how upset they are with the game, the company will assume we are all fine with it, which obviously a lot of us aren’t.

The forums are a place for people to give opinions, both good and bad, about the game and hopefully for Gearbox to realize how many people they have pissed off.

We both want the same goals for the game and we both agree that it sucks for those who can’t experience the game. We both clearly love the franchise. I believe that gearbox does care about the community and would use the hot fixes and patches as support for that. I also agree that they shouldn’t have released the game the way they did but I (currently) trust that they are working to fix these problems. So lets agree that we want this game to become the best it can be and hope that it happens sooner rather than later.

If you want to continue this discussion my DM’s are open. But for now, I’m going to go kick some @#$ in the borderlands

i would disagree to that…bl in most ppls case is working fine…for the ppl that its not tho thats horrible an u have every right to be mad…if it was a total mess across the bored it would reflect that yeah every one is haveing a few issues somewhere…but not everyone is unable to play like some…on top of that fans of the series know that this was to be expected like all the other games as well…not a bl game has come out perfect yet…GB will keep at it till its solid…who knows when that will be but u get my point…

For most people the game runs, but I would argue that’s it.

I would also say that most people on consoles, I won’t speak for PC, are having all kinds of lag issues at the very least.

I understand the game will be patched and performance will be enhanced, but what seems to be happening is people are just outright giving Gearbox a pass and saying they will fix it.

Customers should have to wait for a fix like this.

Can anyone honestly say that if they had beta tested BL3 on the Xbox, they would have thought, oh, this lag is normal, we can just let it slide and fix it later.

I have purchased 2 dozen xbox games over the last 2 years. Guess how many have any kind of lag issues even REMOTELY as bad as BL3? Zero. Nada. Zip.

I don’t expect a perfect game and I understand things will slip through, but the amount of things that would have been IMPOSSIBLE for a beta tester to miss that still were allowed to be released, that is really horrible.

If you bought a brand new Toyota Corolla and it took 20 seconds to hit 60 on the freeway and took 20 more seconds to slow down to 0 at a stop sign, are you really going to sit there and tell yourself, “Meh, they’ll fix it with the next computer update.”

No, you expect a working product and in 99% of retail business you get a working product that just needs a few tweaks. Gaming companies though get a pass because…? Instead of just saying it’s ok we support you for putting out a bad product and we still love you, more people should be trying to hold them accountable and make these companies realize they will be held responsible.

I agree that a AAA game should not be this riddled with bugs at launch, however, that is the risk you take when you pre-order. It makes game devs get a big ego, and they already got what they were after: your money.

It’s why a lot of people in the gaming community repeatedly tell others NO PRE-ORDERS.
