Skilldamage build boldur is inferior, i know how it scales. 300 damage base, +4% skill damage per level. Bleed is an awful helix, its 48 damage that is unaffected by level. I actually went through the trouble of DOING all of this. Its pointless to complain about an inferior and EXTREMELY situational build for lulz, kind of like the super speed boldur. Oh no he really fast and blocks, big deal. Just playing standard boldur is better.
Skill+MS Boldur is okay (fun but but inferior to weapon Boldur because all the benefits Boldur gets that helps him melee and cc are much better and go further then the stuff that lets him be an axe chucking zoom zoom guy.
Hell building for skill damage actually is pretty rare for any melee since skill thorwers are majority ranged.
Yes I know but you can easily Boldur charge and wa-la fo freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
You lose maybe 30 something off of charge or Axe toss so no matter which way you do it you are still up 600+ damage extra. You could also GG roll a blue or green to have skill damage on health damage and get it no matter what.
Even in your mid range half optimal build boldur’s burst goes from 493 to right around 1093. So you hit almost as hard as Thorn does pre passive. Just having a skill damage item on at all gains you like 200+ damage.
I’ve had 11 games as Boldur, 10 wins, and never gotten higher than level 8.
I want to know what end game Boldur can do
Seriously? Now you’re saying his axe toss does 1093? You are seriously just lying for the hell of it at this point.
The skill does 520 damage at level 10 base, and you’re saying you’d gain 200 damage from a skill damage item? Which one adds 40% skill damage, i havnt found it yet.
Nobody listen to what this guy says. Should be allowed to report people who consistently lie on the forum.
At this point you have not clearly read anything I have said or posted to this point, so I’m just going to leave it at that.
If this person is infuriating you so much, id recommend ignoring their posts.
But at this point, it’s just getting more and more personal and we dont need that drama.
Wait, how are you hitting those numbers? I’m not skeptical, I’m just building regen and the highest I hit is ~40.
Just wanna add my two cents here: the fact that boldur has a 2000 HP shield AND it heals him is ridiculous. Yeah, it’s fun when you’re playing him but nothing about that makes sense especially when he is capable of assassinating targets (don’t say he cant’t do it). He’s not broken, but he’s so damn close
anyone who thinks for a second that boldur is not the most broken character the game has ever seen must not understand high level mechanics of incursion. incursion is about pressure and displacement. probably a great deal of you dont even know what displacement is in incursion, and i used to be one of you. then i played against the best team in the country and started studying them and watching their streams and replays from tournaments and learned.
boldur truly is the god of this game. if you play meltdown or whatever, then maybe not, maybe so, i really dont care. im talking about incursion. boldur displaces your entire team and applies constant pressure. he takes entire cooldowns from entire teams and does not die, and when played correctly emerges in better condition than when he entered. and you cannot simply ignore him. you can somewhat attempt to play around him, but he will kill you if you ignore him too much, trust me. or he will set up a very easy series of kills. boldur is the only character in the entire history of the game that really does not have a single hard counter. challenge me on this one.
when you have to hook him into a trap where there is a blight, napalm, and pillar, then a perfectly timed bubble with a marquis shooting him while he is in it to kill him, there is a problem. i really do wish this was an exaggeration, but it simply isnt. i have witnessed with my own eyes almost this exact sequence of events take place with one of the two boldurs i play with on a consistent basis.
An item that gives damage reduction and health regen (Blissbeast Skull Plate, I believe), Health regen item, and his basic Helix choices. I don’t remember the highest I got, but being in Rage adds +14 per second with a Helix, so that’s how it jumps so much.
Just wondering, what’s your GT? I feel as though we HAVE to have played against each other at some point.
yes we have, and it did not end well for you unfortunately lol. i will let you know the next time i run into you. i prefer to have my anonymity on this site
Interesting, I don’t recall losing as a 5 man in a long time. PM me your GT
If all of this happened and he was ccd the whole time he would be dead that’s not even possible to survive that no amount of hp would survive that. Also boldur is not the god of this game if he was he’d be played way more often. The most broken character imo is Benedict with his stupid buff to his rockets.
Seriously just flank him or keep him at range. That’s all it takes.
He’s hard to actually KILL but that’s the point of a tank. But he’s certainly not hard to chase off.
The difference between Benedict and Boldur? Skill level.
Once a player gets good with Boldur he is an unstoppable god…unless he to tries to take on my Alani. The he’s usually at the least wasting time as I bait him into a geyser with my entire team around him.
Sad part is…he survives that half the time.
Benedict is currently at basically Point and Shoot level. Takes a bit of practice to get the aim down, but that’s the hardest part for him.
I think the main problem with Boldur is that people aren’t use to fighting him, and if you haven’t played as him or been on the forums, you’d have never known about his healing shield.
I go on mic now when I fight a Boldur just to inform the team to NOT unload on his shield.
Makes a huge difference in actually getting him off the frontline.
I use an epic eldrid dr with 4.2 regen, a rare with 7 and 4.2, and a shield pen with 4.2, then I grab the extra 14 with rage and passive 7. Oh wait! I forgot, it’s multiplicative. Well either way, I guess I just never used it all at once or something, because it’s either around 48 or 58. Thank you!
No problem! But yeah, if you build him with the correct gear/play decently, if gets nigh-on impossible to kill him. (In my purely estimated position, meaning I don’t know, it’s just an assumption based on how I understand things/my experiences.)
Yeah, especially at level 10. Tanking sentries is fun.
