Yup my mistake patrick.wise513 I meant it bounced me 2-3 times and if I didn’t get out in time the water killed me
i play elemental amara so it’s really easy for me even mayhem 3 you pretty much only need max elemental tree and your set.i don’t know what you are playing but i would just jump and späm nades untill hes dead
Your problems surprise me, because I am a rather slow and old player and I had very little problems with this boss on Moze. Killed him on the first try even. Found the patterns easy to see and dodge.
Just keep a little distance and your strafe speed exactly matches the gaps in the purple balls. For the jump attack, just watch him and duck out.
The only sometime problematic part was to kill the beams while keeping an eye out for him.
I agree that Troy’s attacks pretty much spam you as a player. But I don’t think they need to NERF him. I died 2 or 3 times trying to take him out playing as FL4K. The best advice I can give is keep your distance. Keep moving is key to avoid most of the energy blasts, that distance allows you to weave between the blasts. And that distance also allows you to find an easy target when you get downed. I noticed that during my playthrough that when you get downed is the only time other ground based enemy types spawn into the area. The flying ones are useless to try and use for FFYL.
I will say they do need to NERF the intensity of color or aura that Troy puts off when you are downed that makes it impossible to see. I get making a Boss Fight Difficult, but making it so you can’t visually locate an easier enemy so you can at least try and FFYL is lame.
For me it was easy to dodge the orbs. If you’re farther away the orbs spread farther from each other as they go out making it easy to stand in between them. When Troy does his jump attack there’s a brief moment when you can jump yourself and manage to hop over those orbs.
So the dodging for me was easy. The problem I had was not being able to concentrate on dodging and shooting back at the same time but that’s likely on me.
Honestly I hope they don’t nerf Troy because as hard as he was, it was a good fight and the game can use at least one good, hard fight that isn’t based on a boss doing anything I would consider cheating (such as having a move that you can’t dodge, you know who I’m talking about.)
That being said if Troy must be nerfed the only thing I think could maybe use a slight nerf is just how often he attacks, there aren’t a lot of openings to do a lot of damage on him. Not sure what I would’ve done without Ironbear.
Just spec some healing skills and stop going full DPS. Troy wasn’t that hard and certainly doesn’t need a nerf
Idk maybe because you’re over reacting. Most people seem to think the game is way to easy. I i died to agonizer 9000 3 times and i was over level, so enjoy having that in your future
Hey, Zane player here. Figured I’d talk about my experience with beating him.
I was using a clone/barrier combo, which worked really well for most of Troy’s attacks. You can use the clone to easily dodge the lunge, and the barrier works for the orbs, if I remember right.
Otherwise, Troy telegraphs his moves, so you know what he’s doing and can plan accordingly.
Once you figure out the telegraphs, he’s not so difficult of a boss.
Oh, and always kill the tinks. For me, they were a life saver. Not for second winds, but because they dropped a ton of health and ammo to keep me from going into FFYL.
I found Troy to be one of the easiest bosses in the game. The one I struggled with was the one right before a certain characters reveals she’s a siren. Now that was a tough boss.
Not helpful at all
You got me wondering who that Boss is now
I know you can’t say who it is cause “spoilers” but can you give me something else to go on lol
Damn it! I’m using Amara lol
Thanks!
I had no issue with his orbs personally, I just kept my distance so that I had more time to dodge the orbs, but I hated the fact that he can 1 shot FFYL Shield of Retribution Moze (tank tree) with his jumping smash attack. I would like to see that smash attack nerfed before I try to farm him on Mayhem.
i think it is agonizer 9000.
Oh that Boss lol
I hated Agonizer 9000 as well. had to use Pipe Bomb in the end
BOSSES ACTUALLY BEING DIFFICULT? absurd! how DARE they! or something? i dont know, thats just something people say.
i didnt even lose half my health at this fight. and i have 1 health at all times. i dont see the problem
in all seriousness though i understand moze cakewalks this boss, but even on zane (who was 7 levels lower than my moze) i didnt even die. i. dont rly even think my shield was a problem either, tbh. im usually a more positive, friendly sort but this complaint can be very toxic. just because you personally havent figured out how to fight something doesnt make it hard. and in all corners of the industry people CONSTANTLY cry for nerfs to things without maybe realizing THEY’RE the problem in the fight. i main an mmo and more times than not im seeing stuff become easier and easier because ppl dont want to play a game, they want to simulate a character. and are the reason games cant shine more. its a video game. not a babysitter. its not there to hold your hand and feed you through everything. remember when games had a game over? remember when you actually had to learn a strategy to a fight in a game rather than just pump endless amounts of metal into them?
look up a guide, look up a better build, go farm some upgraded gear, etc. but this fight is hardly a problem, dont try to make it easier than it already is or it might as well not be a boss.
EDIT: ppl hid this post. so i am editing it to lesson the hurt feelings i suppose?
i thought player count DID buff. thats how its worked in all the games, am i mistaken in thinking that included bosses as well?
That’s how it worked in bl2, I’d think it was the same in bl3. So no you’re not mistaken
Lmfao that’s the thing…i am too good…completed the game 32 hours prior to release sooo yeah…completed True vault hunter mode in 34 hours…game feels short…need more upgrade SDU’s also…because I’ve maxed all the upgrades out…-yawn- pick up the pace kiddo’s
That was about the only way I could beat him… over 14000 shield, and almost 7000 HP (TVH), and all gone with one round ball hitting me, but maybe 10% of health left. His attacks were bam, bam, bam non stop constantly sending ball no even time hardly to fling a grenade let alone aim and shoot… It is and insane battle for me.
This must not be happening for everyone or I am sure more would be complaining… But something is wrong with that battle.
I am trying to bring a Moze up now, I have no Idea how I will get past troy this time as the pipe is gone now if those non stop ultra high damage attack’s happen with her…
There isn’t anything wrong with the Troy boss battle…easy strategy is to try to keep your distance from him and jump alot and dodge his attacks…if your worried about your gear not living upto par you can go back to previous bosses and farm them out for a better shield or gun. Troy isn’t even over powered he feels underpowered to me, side note easiest way to take out the graveward is to get a Queen/King’s Call…with cryo damage…keep shooting the joints of his thrust and slam attacks ignore the annoying adds and just keep hitting the crits. The Devs got rid of the fan the hammer style firing rate for both variations but it’s still easy to wreck a boss with them two guns
