They should have to be attacking to damage it but its almost impossible since the minions and thralls are pretty much trash. Only way it could happen is with a buff to minions that make them scale over time.
Like your thought process, only downside of raising the wall is that your own teammates cant escape that rout. Might be worth it though.
Why not an overshield that goes down when attacked by a minion shieldbreaker bot? It can stay down until the sentryâs shield starts to regen and thereâs no shieldbreakers active. Snipers can still snipe to help the team but only when the bots are pushing in and all you have to do to stop the damage is push marquis off his area or block the shots long enough for the tank to stop taking damage and the overshield goes back up.
The thing is, the mode is good. Thereâs just a massive issue with the sentry tanks being killed from areas where they canât shoot back. Thatâs a key pillar of towers in moba games, without it the game mode unravels.
TLDR answer; you should not be able to snipe the sentry or turrets from the comfort of the sniper perch. In order to do damage on these things a player must be forced to move up into more dangerous areas of the map.
Switching the stairs to the other side is a piss-poor way to handle this exploit. Guess what, Marquis players are still going to head glitch they just canât hit the turret now lolâŚsigh
I also think that reducing damage taken by the sentry with no minions nearby would be an elegant solution.
You could even have an additional range modifier used to reduce the damage you do to the sentry the further you are from the sentry itself. Sure you CAN shoot the shield from way back there, but is your team being a man down just to negate the shield regen worth it?
I like ripping Marquis down with Galâs pull but yeah i dont see this as the best way to fix it but im not a programmer
Why not just adjust Marquisâ âcrosshairs hitbox,â so that he has to be more exposed to shoot.
It seems to me that the main problem isnât âsnipers gonna snipe,â but the near-complete safety from which he can do it.
Make it a better risk/reward by forcing him to expose himself and the problem will resolve itself.
And doesnât moving the stairs just make the whole situation worse?? As it stands, if I dive around the corner, the stairs (and Marquis) are right in front of me. I can flush him out, run up the stairs and jump back out to Mid in a jiffy. If I have to run all the way across the Sentryâs face and past the stinger turret before putting hear on Marquis, that helps keep him safer.
Edit: wait ⌠Did they flip the stairs 180 degrees? Or move them into the Mid side of the field? Or something else entirely. I am the confused.
I feel like the simple fix is to just make the wall behind the stairs bigger so that you cant shoot through it/behind it. Lowering the ground that the sentry is on may work as well. If they move the stairs to the other side by the stinger turret it will make flushing out players who sit up there a pain in the ass
I on the other hand feel that snipers should actually be able to damage the Sentry from the platform.
Itâs a viable tactic, if you let someone free roam on that platform, that fault is on you and your team.
What was bothersome with the Marquis tactic is the fact that you could damage the Sentry with head glitching and people wouldnât be able to harm you with exception of aoe skills on that particular area.
Let Marquis snipe all he want from there. But he should also be suspecible to damage and not be invulnerable due to a glitch.
Some of you donât seem to understand that Marquis can hit the sentry from the healing station behind their sentry.
Soft spotting from the sniperâs nest stairs is legit comparatively.
