Political Discussion Thread II

So, dystopian system apocalypse. Also, that is not a cheerful reference, but I appreciate the vote of confidence nonetheless!

The upper class. For them there is no apocalypse. That only happens to us paupers.

Babe, me trusting you as a reality mage is all you need to know for me to accept your championship.

Fact, but depressing in this scenario.

C’mon stocky.

Ok I would probably go with a super high charisma class with awesome speech skills and a few points in assassin.

I would charm my way into the cult of Trump and pick my moment to take out the orange messiah with a nice backstab as he turns to me and says “et to Stocky?” In his dying moments the last thing he sees is me become leader of his goof troop in less than a minute with my excellent speech skills.

That a bit cheerier mate?

In no specific order:
Depressed Druid Doomsday Prepper, Sarcastic Sword Psychiatrist, Charismatic Creature Caresser, Phlegmatic Fungal Pharmacologist, Yeasty Yeti Yeet Yeller, or Mighty Miffed Multigrain Mage.

The alliteration apocalypse is upon us.

lol, this conversation is quite the contrast to the ball of stress I am right now. Things aren’t looking too bad, but atm it’s too close for comfort.

Getting ready for bed, no point in staying up for this - looks like we won’t have results till morning (or later).

That’s alright. I’m more of a Ravenclaw guy myself.

And I actually played Darkest Dungeon yesterday evening. Had to soothe my nerves a little :smirk_cat:

AP called MI and WI, so it’s just the result from NV that I am still waiting for. And that won’t be in until for hours. If Ars is right about GA that would be just a bonus. A sweet one, but just a bonus.

Though if you insist on another class I shall take a Lore Bard with a dash of Warlock. Someone should be able to tell the survivors of the time before the Great Fire.

Copycat. :smirk_cat:

MI and WI look safe. Still not sure about NV. CNN are not calling it either but FOX and AP does. We should have more numbers from them today. I’ve heard 21h00 Eastern for PA. 10% left to count and 20 000 lead for trump. I doubt the Dems have a real chance there despites the “blue boxes”.

Which bring me to the lawsuits. Three that I’m aware of atm. Two are in GA and PA. Which I think we can concede. Despite the shrinking margins. The third is in MI. The one we can worry about. I try to keep faith a court won’t invalidate votes by citizen who voted in the time they were told. But you really never know with them.

In games I like warlocks but I’ll stay with my scavenger/thief.
Or maybe vampire. Vampire sounds good. :smiling_imp:

Just heard there’s a lawsuit in WI too. I’ll put it with MI. Still not a good news and I’ll guess there will be one in NV too.

Uhm, did I miss something? I remember mentioning my Hogwarts House preferences months ago in the reading thread, but apart from that, the topic wasn’t on the table

GA is becoming a close race, though they’re almost done counting and Trump is still in the lead. I still find myself hoping that @Arsonist called it correctly.

Regarding the law suits:

There are two things to point out: first, a part of the law suits complain about the Reps not getting more access to check the counting. This won’t necessarily devalue any counted ballots. Second, even if the incumbent may consider many judges as ‘his’, it’s not a given that his flailing to stop the counting will be successful. Even a conservative judge does not have to share all of the incumbent views.

Nah. Was just me being dumb.

Very true, though the latitude granted by “necessarily” isn’t exactly a guarantee that this is not sonething to keep in mind.

This, dear friend, is what we here in the states consider optimism. This statement is true, and we have seen judges in the past show dissent when they were expected to agree, but it also does its level best ignore the trend we’ve seen of blind loyalty we’ve seen previously in such wonderful places and situations such as Waco and Jonestown in our current batch if government stooges, er…, officials.

TL;DR- you’re far from wrong, but there still are enough reasons for me to keep this spiffy tinfoil hat on.

Aside: I am truly happy that we’ve not seen any violence yet, while simultaneously terrified that deferring it will only intensify what is coming.
