Political Discussion Thread II

Well, yeah, if you wanna get all accurate and stuff. I, on the other hand, was just trying to be cheeky. Because if I take this too seriously I’m probably gonna cry. But yes, there are actual reasons and probably not a bunch of Vegas wise guys trying to shift the odds and grow their payday.

Don’t get me started on PA. Their estate and contract law isn’t exactly comprehensive and their bureaucracy has a slower pace than porn shot in an arctic retirement facility. Beautiful state though.

Is this what hope feels like? It’s been so long, I’ve forgotten.

To note, I don’t really think the state of the race has changed qualitatively, and would still encourage patience, but… I will say I think Biden is likely to win most of these states at this point (Biden probably wins Pennsylvania, Nevada, Arizona, and Georgia - that last one is the most unclear). The only one I think Trump probably wins is North Carolina.

There’s some chance of a Pennsylvania call today to note.

Fair point. The relatively ‘positive’ outcome at this point, does still admittedly say things about America that I’m deeply uncomfortable with. Which is arguably an understatement.

Yeah. It really does feel more and more like the demons within are being nurtured while the folks who genuinely do have everyone’s best interests at heart are being vilified. And all in the name of people holding power over other people.

We are all tumors on this world. Some of us are benign, but it seems the malignancies have the wheel.

Next time, on Nihilistic Governance Weekly: You’re voting for this eugenics policy even though you’re at the top of the list, because ■■■■ it. Nothing matters anyway.

Well, that got dark. Here, let’s mock Kanye a bit.

Honestly, I found Kanye sad. I mean, either he has serious issues (something that’s come up before), or he was deliberately trying to act as a spoiler. Neither of those things really leave me in the mood to laugh to be honest.

Pennsylvania’s Secretary of State is now saying that the vote may take longer to count there as well, so it looks like we might not get a call in Pennsylvania today either.

Trump will go to his grave years from now still insisting he won and he was robbed. His ego simply will not accept a loss and he will vehemently believe he was cheated to the bitter end.

The reason that lawsuit failed is pretty funny. They did not even sue the right person. Whoops.

I question if he can even feel human emotion. Dude comes across as a ego centric automaton.

wait… I stumble upon this because of the count meme… lol

Yes. The former is definitely true, but because he’s got FU money he will likely never get productive help. The latter, if it is true, is just despicable. And no, neither is funny, but that Vermin Supreme probably could have beaten him is a little funny. Just a smidge.

Is it a tad mean spirited of me? Probably. Yeah, definitely. But this whole thing is an exercise in schadenfreude where the world gets to laugh at us, shouldn’t we get a taste?

Clark at 12, and Maricopa at 11 tomorrow, ET both. So it looks like neither Arizona nor Nevada are getting called today. PA is still chipping away at their totals, but it’s slow enough we may not get a call on them either today.

The wonks seem this close to calling it, but the unusual nature of this year’s voting is making them hesitant.

Wish PA would just get it over with.

PA sure did tighten up. 40K split between them with ~72K to count. That would be remarkable - and very sports-like - if Biden took it.

In other news, literally, I hazarded a look at Fox News for the first time in my life. It took me exactly 15 seconds of scanning just the headlines to see that every one of them was packed full of agenda. Disgusting.

To be clear, based on the trends in the votes left for some time it’s been clear that Pennsylvania is likely to be Biden’s (that’s what I meant by a call). I mean, even yesterday it was already clear where the trend was heading. It’s just… they count very, very slow.

guys. Guys. GUYS!!! This can’t stand!!! It’s the last straw. Definitive proof that this is fascism on the rise. Give me cholesterol, or give me healthcare!!! Or something.

  • obviously photoshopped, but I was afraid, terrified even, when I first read it.

It took me an embarrassingly long time of wondering who McRib was.

It’s depressing having family that swallows that FOX pap whole.

Wish they at least had the decency not to regurgitate it back into my face.

I hear you, I have family friends who do that, thankfully even the Republicans in my family hate Trump’s guts for the most part, so it’s not that close to home. It’s depressingly common in this area though.

Anyways, Clayton county in Georgia is supposed to report the rest of their results by midnight, not clear which midnight, but given the locale probably ET. If those results match the margin for what we’ve seen already, Biden will pull into the lead in Georgia (probably won’t get a call though, no idea when that might happen).

It’s not clear if we’ll get results from Clayton tonight or not, their supposed complete time was way off, and the Georgia Secretary of State apparently has a website only one person can update, a person who has went home. Results are available elsewhere, but right now they’re still scanning in ballots at a very slow rate, and it’s not clear if various places update their counts based on this, or if we’ll have to wait till morning.
