I know right! The good thing is that now Brexit doesn’t look so bad. And to understand why Brexit was awful you need a lot of nuanced reading and information. It’s kind of hard to miss Trump when he called Mexican immigrants rapists in his campaign launch.

There is something happening in the west that shows a distrust of the establishment. Fear and nationalism is resurgent. I hope it’s just the death-rattle of the old guard but maybe we as a species just aren’t equipped to think of the world in anything other than a tribal mentality
