So. Texas, which has the lowest rate of testing in the entire country, is planning on reopening starting in a week. Despite the fact that their increase in cases per day is growing even with that.
… Well, this is probably going to end in a lot of dead people.
There’s a very dark joke in their somewhere about everything being bigger in Texas. I sincerely hope that doesn’t turn out to be the case here, but I’m not optimistic.

Well, I’m gonna be trying to be around the other threads on the board more, but I’m kind of noping out of here for awhile.
Nothing against you guys, its just that none of the news is ever good and I don’t like where it’s putting my headspace.

Very well, let’s take a look at the wisdoms and truths spouted by Trust-Fund Donnie:
“LIBERATE VIRGINIA, and save your great 2nd Amendment. It is under siege!”
I didn’t know the plague does even attack amendments, but what do I know? Now let’s see if said amendment has anything to do with shelter-in-place orders:
“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
So actually, not really.
What’s to wonder there? It’s a head of state that without seeing the irony of him using anti-government rhethoric inciting the wepaons-grade plums he calls ‘followers’ to excercise their patriotic rights and start armed resistance against those pesky Dem governors.
What you see there is the further erosion of the American democracy while the GOP looks on in their unshakeable ‘follow-the-leader’ mindset.
And to think a grim thought to the end, should some ‘patriot’ indeed take a shot at a governor, I know which ‘head of state’ will deny any responsibility, cause he ‘didn’t say that’, ‘didn’t mean that’ and ‘no one could have foreseen someone really taking up a scoped rifle’.

I’ve already drawn my conclusion, Curm, but I’m just rhetorically saying if he does go back on that based on the way he said “take her out”, the tone implies removal from the face of the Earth, not just her position. So something like “liberate”…

I may have mentioned this before but last year my brother wrote a 50 page short story. Sort of near-future sci-fi which took place in Atlanta.
What’s relevant is that Florida had been segregated from the rest of the States for an unrevealed reason. I think I found the reason.
