I think it is a joke Jefe, just one she is not in on. Her facial expressions seem to relay sincerity, I think she believes it. I am betting someone who knows that she is a gullible, racist buffoon, told her all this crap. Knowing fine well she would run around spouting it to everyone, making the entire world see her as they do, a giant moron lmao. That video is hilarious and scary

About those Santa Clara county antibody studies:
tl;dr statistics is hard and easy to screw up. Apparently, the study establishes this quite convincingly.
Also this:
I really hope the Navy succeeds in this - especially if it can be shown that the Captain was not the leaker.
And finally this:
Nothing shouts ‘shyster’ more loudly than promoting cryptocurrencies and blockchain to ‘save the economy’.
Maybe statements like this:
“The coronavirus is not what’s killing people, it is clearly, categorically, unequivocally proven that the radio frequencies we are being exposed to are killing the people,” he told his audience without any evidence. “God has blessed me with the ability to bring disparate pieces of information together that puts the puzzle together and makes sense of it"
Fascinating how that christian god tends to choose one, mostly shady, individual to enlighten with his wisdom. Not to mention that god’s interest in 5G technology…
Well, some sort of god. But that sure doesn’t look like the Christian one, even if the ‘pastor’ appropriates that label. Something about ravening wolves in disguise and ‘by their fruit you shall know them’ seems more appropriate here.
Once again you’re stuck in reality based on facts.
This, is the political world of alternative facts.
It doesn’t matter if he said it in front of his nation and the world. As long as he and his supporting media says it’s fake news. His sheep, yes the real sheep, will follow the line. That’s all they need.
Re : pastor James. It takes special talent to tie two wack-job conspiracies so clumsily.
Mixed metaphor
- noun a combination of two or more metaphors that together produce a ridiculous effect.
In other news, this interesting article about the state bankruptcy proposal by Master of Disguise, Mitch McConnell
My tinfoil hat thought this might go to state power getting siphoned into the central federal government but not quite the case
Guilty as charged and proud of it
While I usually am somewhat of a hippie, in this case ‘in their fruits thou shall kick them’ seems even more appropriate.
Kind of interesting, but not a lot of sympathy. That particular industry has earned a huge amount of my spite. Even ‘not for profit’ healthcare, often is just another way of saying they pay their executives millions or tens of millions of dollars a year off extorting the public. The combination of lack of price transparency and a captive consumer base is a large part of what’s driven our prices through the roof. Albeit admittedly that doesn’t address things like the middleman problem, who exactly pays, or how the system has screwed over the quality of healthcare in America.
Honestly, I was just being bitter about my inability to find a decent PCP before this post.
I always assumed an incumbent president can’t be challenged from within the party, but it seems it’s happened a few times over the last several decades.
Reading this article…
…made me wonder why no one in the GOP has challenged DT. In my ignorance I assume it’s because the party as a whole decided to galvanize and stand by Trump - especially through impeachment - so as to not weaken the party. But somehow it seems it should be more complex than that.
I don’t really know of any viable Rep candidates , since I don’t follow US politics in detail, but surely they can rally support behind a candidate that has a chance of winning?? I mean, Biden isn’t all that far ahead in the polls so surely literally anyone who can string a sentence together can bring it home.
What am I missing?
There was a lot of discussion of this among the political literati around half a year back, but basically while it was never likely Trump would be defeated in the primary, it is somewhat indicative of problems in the general when a serious challenge occurs. Anyways, Bill Weld did in fact challenge Trump in the primary. I think he won… One delegate? I want to say one delegate. Yeah, just went and checked, one. Which was not a good showing.
Regardless, this goes back to a problem, namely that Trump while horrific on his own, is not simply an anomaly. He’s the result of years of political, media, and cultural trends. The reason you haven’t seen more resistance even then, goes back to the area between '16, and '18 when basically everyone on the Republican side who attempted to act with conscience got wiped out politically.
It’s interesting to see how methods that are being used by the right-wing fringe over here (The Lying Press! Only We Tell The Truth! Don’t Trust The Media! Any News That Don’t Suit Us Are Lies!) seem to be the main component of the head of states rhethoric.
Even though your president does try to frame it that way, Anti-Trump does not equal Anti-America.
On the other hand:
‘As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.’
- H.L. Mencken
I don’t recall politicians worldwide (including the States) vilifying the press nearly to the degree to which they currently do (authoritarian states aside).
I’ve heard plenty of non-English speaking politicians inject the words “fake news” into their speech in the last couple of years.
Time for know-it-all Cur to go on a short historical excursion. The phrase ‘Lying Press’ was already in use over here in the 19th century, mostly to denounce political newspapers of the other wing and even more to vilify the foreign (usually French) press.
In the 20th century it saw most use during the 3rd Reich to denounce remnants of free non-aligned press and in the GDR to vilify the press in Western Germany, which was mostly portrayed as imperialist lies.
As of now, the phrase was revived by the right fringe and used for 'wholesale defamation’of the mainstream media, that (and I am happy about that) doesn’t spout the stupid claims of the christian occident being eroded by immigration, foreigners taking all the jobs and women or the exchange of the German people through foreigners with higher birthrates.
In short, it’s mostly used by the fringes. That’s why I am quite concerned about the head of state in a democracy using those buzzwords.
Yeah, wasn’t talking bout Trump, homie.
Good source Mike. Yeah though, like I said when that study was brought up earlier it’s just not reliable. I’m not going to say there necessarily haven’t been a massive number of people exposed, but the way that was conducted means that it’s hard to draw much out of it. Nonetheless even I’m surprised by some of the stuff in there. I’d based my skepticism on the methods in their study, but that elevates it to a whole new level.
Oh, come on, mate. I have a bundle of opinions that are quite critical of the United States, as anyone able to read can easily see. If that makes me anti-American then I guess I am anti most countries, for if there is a paradise on this Earth I sure haven’t found it yet.
I noticed the number of
’s Trumps tweet above got (176K) and wondered what percentage of his followers that represented.
In searching I came across this rather interesting item
Edit :
A New York Times investigation revealed that an approximate 48 million Twitter users are fake profiles “designed to simulate real people,” which can be sold to customers trying to gain more followers.
