[Poll] Most common Mayhem 2.0 level you play with

I started at mayhem 6 and farmed, I ended up then going to M8 and then M10, farming gear to help me out along the way.

Long process but really the only one I found that worked for me.

M8 for mobs and M10 for bosses. I hate the bullet sponges of M10 when I’m mobbing.

Yup same here 100%

The Cartel challenges. I am on PS4 so don’t know the keys to open the menus for Xbox or PC.

Open your echo menu. On the top bar, go all the way to the right and open the Challenges menu. It should default to the Cartel challenges. I use Right R2 to open the list of challenges. It is also where you collect the rewards.

M10 Slaughter Shaft with Cartel activated. I love being shot at with non-stop rockets from all directions. It’s great

Started at 10 and will play nothing but 10. Farmed Gigamind, Freddie and traded the majority of what I needed.

I started on M6 and quickly moved to M8. I actually think M8 is a more enjoyable mayhem level to play on. It doesn’t have so many modifiers and the stat bloat on the enemies is just about right.

However, once they announced that anointed gear would drop 100% on M10…I immediately switched to M10. The pain of not getting anointments is far greater than any added pain from stat bloat or modifiers.

I really wish they would change the 100% anoint rule to apply to M6 or M8 and above. Not for me…I’m already locked into M10 at this point but it’s a needed QOL improvement that should apply to all upper mayhem levels IMO.

Their guide for applying that rule should be…if anointed gear is a reasonable expectation to be successful on the mayhem level…you should only get anointed gear. Period. I think it’s debatable what level that starts…M6 or M8 or whatever but it clearly begins before M10 IMO.

Thanks Man. totally forgot to do this. Had all of the challenges but 1. Need to kill fish slap with melee. Can we do these on lower M levels?

Started on 4, got a clairvoyance from DLC2 that allowed me to easily beat enemies in MH6, got a Sand Hawk at MH 6, did the Cartel event and got the OPQ then jumped into 10 and have pretty much stayed there since. Jumped out of Mayhem briefly just to more easily complete the challenge for killing Fish Slap with melee (had to use the Fish Slap grenade as actually melee did nothing).

Yes, any Mayhem level 1 and up.

M10 for better loot

I play for enjoyment at 8 and demo my dumb concepts at ten to show they could theoretically work if you were willing to put in the time to do it that way.

Started with M4 on Day 1 of Mayhem 2.0. Didn’t see any thing different, so jumped to M6 the next day. Still not a problem. Jumped to M10 and I’ve been there since. It’s work, but I’m not backing off it.

I’ve been playing at M4 and see no reason to go higher.

I see your ā€˜M4’ and will raise you an ā€˜M2’.

Before Mayhem 2.0 I generally kept it at M1. M4 became more doable with more damaging weapons, but it is a bit much and I’m not sure I could sustain it for long if I was focused on BL3 right now. I could see falling back to M2 or even back to M1, particularly solo, just to be more comfortable.

It is also easier to do if you use the Fish Slap grenade or the Face Puncher for the Fish Slap challenge.

Look up moxsys sandsweeper moze it’s great for m10 I use it to mob daily

Jumped in at M6 and worked my way up to M10 where I try and stay. Funny though, sometimes I breeze through enemies at M10 and other times it feels like a real struggle!

I notice this too. Even though the modifiers, enemies, and weapons don’t change, the difficulty does. I feel with the advent of Mayhem 2.0, the stability of the game overall is now in question.

Take the yellow cake rocket launcher for example. On Mayhem 10, sometimes I can kill Captain Traunt with 3 shots. Sometimes it takes 10. Sometimes, he kills me before I can kill him.

Very inconsistent. At least with the old Mayhem 4, you could expect the same experience each time you played, with the exception of the change in the 2 modifiers.

The only way for me to really enjoy a consistent round of gameplay, is to play with Mayhem mode off. However, When I turn Mayhem mode off, my game crashes after 5-30 minutes of gameplay. That is consistent, I guess
