Poll: What will you do w 3 level increment cap?

It’s probably because of the saying “it takes a thief to understand a thief”.

I’m definitely a min/maxer but not to the point of farming for perfect roles. When I want a specific item I try to trade and when I don’t get it I simply min/max based on what I have. Sometimes that means a build idea sits on the shelf until the perfect storm of events make it viable. The following is an example of one such build. It’s been sitting on the shelf for months but BL3’s generous world drop rates and @kabflash made it possible.

I know a lot of people that will. I voted for that option because I am not pleased with a level cap increase of 3, but I will stick around because I have no life, but I know lots of people that do have lives. They will walk away with level increments of two or three randomly, and it makes me sad, because I know this move will hurt total player activity.

Continue to NOT play this game like I have for months. Such a disappointment.

love the series but, right now i’m quiting the game, if a dlc drops and i have the time i might see it for the story. apart from that i have other commitments which are more important instead of wasting 2-4 months grinding again only for another level increase to hit again.

if going to play anything will be nioh 2 and few other games rest of the year. atleast my time won’t feel wasted by doing so, unlike this disappointing mess of a game.

Clear the trash out of my bank, level my 4 toons (1 of each) up to 53, hit the chest on sanctuary to get gear good enough to get to 56, and wait.

stick around but not farm

If i had all perfect gear i would probably put the game down and wait for lvl increase or new content. This just gives me a reason to keep at it until the next DLC. And it adds a little fun to the new event, being able to level up along the way.

i already play the game a lot less recently, this update won’t make play it more, but i won’t stop completely either… i think.

Slightly hoping they are gonna tweak the talent trees? It would give more reason to appreciate the new talent points. They prob won’t tho. I’ll stick around because I’ve been on borderlands since before Dr Ned revived TK for brain related side quests.

The minute I heard about a 3 lvl increase with no new content, I decided to walk away from the game for awhile. This was not well planned. Nothing about this game has been all that well planned. When the game was finally at it’s most stable point, after a roller-coaster of nerfs and buffs, it was actually enjoyable and enticing to try new characters and/or farm for the best gear. This just wiped it all off the table. It would be different if there was a whole DLC with the level increase for a new challenge. But, we increase by 3 levels, add 3 more skill points (?!), all of a sudden everything is easier? I’m guessing. A big mistake IMO and a money grab is what it truly comes down to.

My answer is stick around/NOT ok with 3 level increments.

First option. I won’t return until Gearbox either gives us a way to make farming easier (and add the Bekah to the global pool as well), make it option to cap at 50, or allow us to have the gear level with us. 140+ items to refarm is nuts, especially when the cap increases don’t leave an impact.

Yeah, I was wondering where you went. We generally shared similar opinions on here. Hope your well and hope we can all get back to a great version of Borderlands 3 one day!

Probably take a break unless tomorrow’s patch fixes a lot of long-standing FL4K and Moze bugs.

3 levels is not enough to be interesting to me, but gear-wise juuuust enough to be annoying since some of it will useable. A more substantial increase and I’d feel no remorse purging my bank of level 50 gear since it wouldn’t scale well, but with just 3 levels some things will be okay, and some won’t, and trying to figure out what’s worth keeping until I find a replacement and what can be chucked is more work than I feel like doing. So I won’t.

Holy shnikey! @MidnightNova you’ve been around forever too.

This may indeed be as fire as I imagined, there quit a few of us old heads dipping out.

I just find it oddly humorous that we hung around super active in the community through BL2s 5+ year content drought but are packing in now that BL3 is finally here.

It’s definitely anticlimactic.

Personally? I’ll continue my extended hiatus, and intermittently check the forums to see if anything changes.

There are some positives to take from the most recent announcement, but for me, the humble three level increase certainly isn’t one of them .

I’d much prefer to see GBX fixing broken character skills, optimising the frustrating interface, and toning down overblown annointments, rather than adding more levels, but perhaps that’s just me.

No. No, that’s definitely not just you.

Those are three things I would definitely have rather seen than a 3 level cap increase.

Phew! That’s a relief then! :joy: Though gamewise, it’s also a little sad too.

I find it infinitely frustrating that key aspects of the core game have been so neglected, and it’s been this way for months now.

It would be unreasonable to expect any game to be perfect, but if there were ongoing efforts made to address the most broken, and most central parts, I’d probably be a lot more forgiving.

Frankly, I stopped playing when it became apparent that the development focus was elsewhere, and annointments started becoming the be-all and end-all of a build.

Unfortunately, and despite my love for previous games of the Borderlands franchise, it doesn’t seem like either issue will be changing any time soon.

To put it frankly, Borderlands 2s content was handeled in a much more well thought out way, even if the scaling got out of whack.
