Well, yeah, definitely the recap is off. A lot of things actually happened!

  • She starts off with Blade Rush, while you’re not facing her. She obviously had the helix skill that makes blade rush explodes on contact, meaning the small shield damage you take at the very beginning was due to the AOE component of the skill. It appears in the recap, by the way. Since it’s marked as “slow”, I’m guessing that means the SKILL itself was slow ( a consequence of the AOE helix modification on the skill ).

  • She TPs on you. This deals damage but she seems to miss you… However this may kick in her shield recharge if she had taken the helix modification, meaning an extra layer of protection against the turrets ( which rarely shred anyone really, even early game, so you can pursue someone, kill him, and still go back to safety with almost any character in my experience - especially against slow-ass rockets turrets !)

  • The ult, well, something I hadn’t thought of yet : I think she initiated the ult before teleporting behind you, meaning the animation ended when she was ALREADY behind you, resulting in you believing she insta-casted it. There is a delay before the blades fall that she took advantage of…
    But this is actually the big part that indeed isn’t shown on the recap.
    Mathematically, her ult deals 167 damage per second for 5 seconds, and she has at least one activated piece of gear that boosts skill damage, meaning it could very well already be 200/s. Judging from your health, it seems like you took 3 ticks, the third one being the killing blow, with intwined regular attacks that she seems to almost completely miss.

Basically, I’d say you took the recap’ed ~100 from blade rush AOE, 3x~200 from her ult ( NOT SHOWN IN RECAP ! ) and the expected ~90 from regular attacks.
Either that, or you didn’t get the full recap on her regular attacks. She may have True Striked you ( right mouse button attack, sensibly higher damage than regular left click ) and you only got hit by 2 ticks of her ult… But I’d tend to think only the ult didn’t show up on the recap and everything else was right.

At any rate, while this was brutal it seems legit - but I fully agree that the recap was nigh useless for you to understand what could have happened… :confused:

it wouldn’t have hit me even if she did use the increased damage because I was constantly moving away from her, and all the others missed. if one of those does 100 damage, then all you have to do to kill someone as phoebe is stand next to them and you’ll auto kill them… so no that wasn’t legit. If it were slower it wouldn’t have hit me. They were fast moving, and she still missed most of her swords.

Her teleport missed, I know she has tele but that doesn’t matter because it missed anyway.

She didn’t even do the animation or anythin and even if she did, it wouldn’t take out 200 shield and 400 health in one hit.

She didn’t get hit by the turrets anyway.

Nothing that happened in that video was legit, AND it’s not even a very good example of what I’m trying to show you either. Because some of them are 5x worse. I had an ambra hit me with 2 melee strikes and kill me from full shield and over half health.

I’m unsure which attack you’re refering to in your very first sentence, sorry ? Blade Rush, I guess? Well they didn’t hit you, they just landed very close to you and you took the AOE damage from a few of the projectiles. 90 damage is pretty right for an amped up skill.

About the ult : she did the animation while you weren’t watching, I meant. when she FIRST attacked you, you can hear the sound of the Blade Rush, then only you look back - by the time you hear the blade rush, she already has initiated her ult. By the time you are finished turning your camera to look back ( are you playing with a pad? it really was slow ), she is already done and targeting the ground behind you to use her TP. by the time her TP is done, the ult finally comes into play.
It’s just a VERY fast chain-cast of her skills, and since your looking back - and then back again - animation was very slow, I can perfectly see all of that happening in a that time window.

And her ult didn’t took out 200s/400h in one hit : your health gradually falls down. You took three hits of the ult.

And last, she definitely get hit by the turrets, her shield melts almost instantly and her health start decreasing while your death animation is playing.

No really, it was fast play, but the only abnormality is the recap not showing up the ult damage…

Actually no. I genuinely don’t understand your first paragraph. I didn’t speak of increased damage about Blade Rush, just of an AOE component. Moving away is irrelevant since you were moving in a straight line and she still is quite on your heels. Why “autokill them”? you still have to cast it every x seconds. It’s not like it’s a passive aura or something. It was slower, that doesn’t mean it is SLOW. Blade Rush projectiles still are pretty fast moving even with the helix skill. And again, you’re both moving in a straight line, and taking a long time looking back, which is perfect for taking the shot. Hell, you can even see the actual impact on the ground when you look back, and it’s right there, at your feet. Frankly, I even think she did actually hit you !

just played a match where I hit shayne and aurox with both my R1 and L1 with rath and didn’t even lose health or shield.

Same match my ult did 140 dmg to him, but 260 to everyone else.

A minion this mach just killed me and it said it did 700 damage, but when you push square it only said it did 160 in total.

So yeah, maybe I just don’t know how to play video games. :joy:

I also JUST used phoebe and activated her super before trying to teleport and it doesn’t work like that. She has to do the animation…so…I’m right again…

Are there 4 damage/CC indicators? Because it caps out at 4 in the breakdown. Gali is probably just hitting you with so many sources of damage and CC at the same time that it doesnt all fit on the page. She isnt bugged, she just out DPS’s every other hero in the game currently and its not just single target, her AoE is good too.
@ZombieGuy Galilea ‘cant’ be overpowered because… sometimes people can run from her? that is … basically a confession to how overpowered she is, wow. Her greatest weakness is that sometimes other characters inconvenience her haha.

No need for passive-aggressive thing, or even ad hominen, mate. You brought up an issue, I demonstrated almost nothing in the fight you linked us was wrong, I also aknowledged there is something off with SHOWN numbers in the recap. Essentially, there is nothing off with the actual, “hidden” maths behind the damage you took in your short video. Everything seemed correct and not out-of-proportions.

I even replicated the tp/ult combo that killed you to cover the very last uncleared issue :

I was slightly wrong, the TP has to be done before the ult. But as you can see from the upper right section, it’s super fast and the animation is mostly truncated by the TP animation. I could have opened with the Blade Rush skill but I forgot. It would have played a huge part in the timing anyway. The fun thing is that your opponent was even slightly SLOWER than me and could have casted his ult EVEN SOONER, as I synched the teleports.
Again, you were super slow to move and turn around, so you assumed the other was using some ungodly moves. No : you were just too slow. The same way you assumed you were one-shot, which isn’t the case. 4seconds is kind of a very LONG oneshot, isn’t it ?

Everything that happened to you on the very video you posted was perfectly legit. There isn’t any discussion left to pick up at that point about that issue.

What does this leave us at ? Simple, and I feel like a parrot repeating the same thing : the recap is broken and/or completely useless since it doesn’t display everything that actually happened. I guess this is maybe why they never included a combat log in Path of Exile, any bug would have created a mountain of complaints…

The most ironic thing about all that, is that it still doesn’t exclude possible calculations issues with other characters like Galilea ( and others, she can’t be the only one to take the heat :wink: ). They are still possible, but it’s not possible to track them with the recap. Basically, stop hurting yourself for now and stop using that square button when you die.

And for Pete’s sake, don’t go all commando on us because we analyzed a video and proved there was nothing wrong with it.

You really are stubborn. I literally DID IT in my video. So, just stop being so obtuse at this point, mate. You’re not helping yourself, and you certainly aren’t helping the game to get in better shape either.

The argument was, you thought she did her super and then teleported to cancel the animation, when you cannot do that at all.

Then, go and watch my video where she does not do the animation what so ever.

Not only that, the turrets didn’t attack her when they should have. By the time she was attacking me she should have been getting shredded by the turrest. When she ports to the middle of my spawn, she should have been getting attacked by 2 turrets but didn’t at all.

Not only that, but her R1 did 100 damage with one hit, which is DOUBLE the damage it should have.

Not only that, but her super did twice the damage it should have too, in fact probably more.

And what is your excuse about ambra hitting me with her secondary attack twice and killing me? What about the minions doing 100 damage, but it scaling up to almost 7 times as much damage?

Because there is a calculation bug. Its been happening for a long time and I would love to get this fixed so people don’t come to the forums screaming “this character’s OP please nerf!!!” and then we end up having huge balance issues because some people ran into a bug.

I’m not complaining for getting killed, it happens. I’m complaining about there being statistical errors much like what already happened and gearbox acknowledged in the beta, by removing certain gear effectiveness from the character because it made him literally invincible.

Of course I did prove something ! I even said it in the post where I put the video. I even synched it to YOUR video. The ult is launched AFTER the TP occured ( my bad, it wasn’t before ), the animation is super fast. You were still staring at the path behind you, from where she vanished, when the animation both started and ended. You barely caught a glimpse of the greenish whirlwind thingie that marks the end of her ult animation. Watch my comparison, it’s all there, minus the Blade Rush - and even then you weren’t looking at her when the BR occured.

And she IS attacked by the turrets. It’s all in your video! It’s there, plain as the nose in the middle of the face! You can literally see the turrets lining up their shots and then taking them and the projectiles travelling and her shield starting to go down before you even fire a shot in her general direction. And since you only seem to hit her once, it means the whole blue bar went down thanks to the turrets exclusively.

I’ll assume R1 is the “basic” attack : she clearly hit you multiple times. I’m not sure whether she wove the secondary attack in it ( it’s possible with Phoebe ) but 90 damage is quite okay if not a little low for a full volley.
And last, her super did damage in line with what it should have been doing, when amped by gear and level. I just went through a quick game to note how her ult damage was scaling. At level 6, it’s actually 242 damage per tick. Add, say, 5% skill damage, it’s 254. Only two ticks of ult actually needed. And honestly it fits better.
84+92+162+(254*2) = 846. Sounds about right, I was even generous with the damage, but they may have been considered overkill and not taken into account in the game recap. And the only data that wasn’t in the recap is Phoebe’s ultimate, so we can’t know…

As for Ambra, I don’t know her super well, but a direct hit from her staff transformed into a spear while being fully heated scores incredibly high damage. Helix level 7, radiant spear. Deadly. I played around with it and was stunned to see it so powerful as to one-shot sturdy foes in PvE, whereas the other characters will have to put much more efforts into it. I also find it a bit difficult to not hit two times with that attack ( even if the second won’t get the bonus since all heat is insta depleted by the first hit ). She also has a few indirect damage built in, so I can’t say without a video.
Same goes for the minion : I can’t say without a video. I can only take your word for it, but it’s just not enough sadly.

Now, again, I do not dismiss potential calculations errors. I’m only dismissing the only tangible proof you brought to the table as it seems perfectly legit. It only shows, for me, that everything was going according to the plan with that Phoebe during this specific encounter.
The only way to find a flaw is by taking lots of videos and getting around to analyzing them all until we find something REALLY off that we ALL can agree on. And I don’t agree on Phoebe and can’t say about Ambra or the minions since I can’t review the situation.

But capturing that video was an excellent reflex I really should get myself.

Well, you can stop making dumb excuses and pretending to prove me wrong. I just want gearbox to know, I hope they read their forums. They should be able to easily pull apart the data and find out how some characters and even AI are dealing more damage than they are supposed to.

Actually, I think it would just be best if you stopped trying to find flaws and errors as you can’t even grasp the basics in a video you took youself and posted yourself and can review at leisure to understand how invalid your argument is and correct the maths were IN THIS SITUATION.

You just aren’t doing the game any good by refusing to acknowledge simple truths. Your argument about Phoebe was plain wrong, what proof do we have you aren’t just making things up in your other examples? How can we be sure a dozen of other factors weren’t actually affecting your tale? Hell, you clearly don’t even take the time to read and review my claims, or skim them and go straight to answer to say “no you’re wrong I’m right I’m a special snowflake and a victim”.

So yeah, you call my fairly accurate explanations “dumb”, then in return I’ll consider your issues “dumb” too. Have fun in a dumb game with dumb maths that are specially done to make your life a living hell.

If someone wants to pick up where I left off… who am I kidding, it’s probably not gonna happen. People around understood way earlier than me it was a lost cause. That’s where I was dumb, I guess.

The log is broken. There is nothing wrong with the actual in-game damage, and the fact that the other kid put that much effort and time into showing you how the game works and trying to educate you, while you just accuse him of “pretending to prove him wrong.” He legit made a video for you to replicate what happened, and the fact that you think he’s trying to attack you and you attack back is embarrassing on your part, be more mature please.

As for the log, it’s always been broken and I think there just might be some issue where it only records attacks from a certain time frame, although I’m not entirely sure

There’s absolutely no way the damage is correct though. How is an ambra at level 1 going to 2 hit a phoebe? How is a level 1 miko going to slaughter a phoebe? These things aren’t possible.
