3310 Brick
Red text: Knock, knock.
Tediore shotgun
Any element

When this gun is thrown, it does not break. It is indestructible. The enemy suffers heavy melee damage and is thrown back as if hit by a powerful shotgun blast. When held the gun will sometimes ring and different voices will answer the ring and taunt your enemies. Depending on gun parts, this can have mirvs, homing capabilities, legs. The name and gimmick are inspired by the “brick phone,” the Nokia 3310.

You would think after being the meme king phone there would be more Nokia 3310 references.

Edit : It would also make a fine melee weapon, nobody wants smacked with a 3310.

Name: D-70 proto-grenade
Type: Legendary grenade
Manufacturer: Torgue
Drop: Spendoptigon
Element: None
Red text: RANDOM EXPLOSIONS!!!
Effect: Upon contact with an enemy it will roll random damage of 1 to 1.000.000, upon contact with a surface it will instead roll a massive table of random effects, from spawning in driveable vehicles, to creating power-ups (like ammo, money, eridium & health & shield boosters), cluster bombs , spawning in random allies (regardless of faction, except bosses), flashbangs, explosions of mass destruction (ie. A nuke) or spawning in a pile of random anointed enemies (all of these are just the examples), can only spawn with the lobbed & random chaos mods.

Meant to be a reference to the cursed halo mod’s d-20 frag grenade that does most of the same things
Watch the youtube video “halo except it’s incredibly cursed” to get the reference
It’s also where i got the idea for my spelunker shotgun idea

Name: deadshot
Manufacturer: Hyperion
Type: sniper
Red text: Don’t forget to breathe
Effect: in normal mode, acts like a normal Hyperion sniper with a gun shield while ADS. The alternative firing mode, however, has no gun shield and increased zoom all the time (switching to this firing mode means you’re always ADS). Holding the ADS button will no longer zoom in, but will instead reduce sway to 0 and heavily reduce recoil, but you can only hold the button for a few seconds and as soon as you let go your sway is increased for a few seconds.
Basically you can hold the button to hold your breath, while sniping, like a lot of sniper focus games.

Legendary Siren COM

Clear the Mind, Tempest, Wildfire
Status effects caused by critical hits do 300% more damage.

The weakest part of the game may well be status effects. Barring very few weapons and set ups, damage over time is often effectively meaningless. This COM attempts to reverse that, but still in a way which depends on skill. Clear the Mind, the purple capstone, would be extremely helpful in such a set up but is too far down the tree to make it desirable. Then Tempest boosts elements overall while Wildfire will spread these new, more powerful DOTs raound the field. Quote is from Richard II by William Shakespeare.

Legendary Siren COM

Jab Cross, Heavy Rain, Tempest
Whenever you score a kill, Phaseslam’s cooldown has a 35% chance to reset.

The Techspert done right. All three of these skills multiply against each other to increase the power of Phaseslam while the special effect deals with its cooldown. Many times, I expect you’d use your action skill to immediately reset your action skill and then off you go again. Just need to think about how to use it on bosses… Quote is from Space Jam.

Mighty Mittens

Atlas heavy weapon
The Bern never ends.

  • Elements: Incendiary
  • Effects: Trackers have no cooldown and cost no ammo. Increased damage against badass and stronger enemies. While holding this weapon, all party members and allies’ individual healing and cooldown bonuses are shared among the party. If wearing a Nova or Re-Charge Berner, this weapon becomes dual-wielded.

Cranium System
Red text: Rollin’, rollin’, rollin’
Atlas Assault Rifle
Any element, never kinetic

Always tracking puck. Puck homes in on crit spots and applies a 20% debuff to the enemy. If that enemy is killed and the puck connects to another enemy, the debuff becomes 30%, then 40%, then 50% and so on. Each shot fires 2 pellets for the price of 1 bullet (similar to the Q-System).

Name: Z-System
Type: AR
Red Text: EVERYOOOOOOOONE!!
Effect: secondary function is always tracking darts and has infinite ammo, however tracking effect only lasts 15 seconds. Primary fire shoots two bullets that split and one homes in on each tagged enemy. Damage is full for each shot, but for each tagged enemy after the first two, every shot consumes an extra ammo.
So like a q-system, but you can target whole crowds or just one enemy. Stats would be similar to a q-system but slightly better damage, bigger magazine and slower reload.

It makes me wonder if any of these ideas would ever be chosen to be added to borderlands 3 or maybe borderlands 4, maybe someone should make a poll consisting of ideas with the most likes

Yes, some have. I haven’t kept track of everybody’s ideas but I suggested ideas similar to the Anarchy shotgun, Fish Slap, Robin’s Call, Muse com and the Multi-tap prior to them appearing in the game. Possibly a few others.

Seeing as Atlas has the least number of legendaries currently (especially good ones), I suggest the following.

FIRE-System
Lock S-foils in attack position.
Atlas Rocket launcher
Any element, never kinetic

Locked to “tracking orbs” (effectively tracking darts, but different in appearance). Fires a collection of elemental orbs in a pattern similar to the Ruby’s Wrath/Plumage, matching the gun’s element, which home in and explode on impact. If you get a kill, “tracking orbs” home in and lock onto all surrounding enemies. The number of orbs fired from the primary function multiply per enemy currently being tracked. Red text references the Death Star trench run in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.

QST-System
You have my sword, bow, axe and… gun?
Atlas Pistol
Kinetic only

Similar fire rate to the Linc. Fires 3 bullets per shot at the price of one ammo. Bullets home in and explode. The damage of each successive bullet increases in a similar fashion to the consecutive hits anointment. Red text is a reference to The Fellowship of the Ring.

For my choice of an Atlas assault rifle, I would actually refer back to this one from back in August:

Garren’s Call

Torgue pistol
Why are you just watching!?

  • Elements: Incendiary

  • Effects: Increased fire rate. Costs two ammo per shot. Critical hits return two bullets to your magazine and ricochet two bullets at your nearest enemy. Reloading temporarily grants you one of the following bonuses:

    • Increased damage
    • Full auto
    • Damage reduction
    • Homing shots
    • A Digi-Clone of your character
    • A Digi-Clone of the last enemy you killed
    • Slowed/shields depleted/critical health/max Terror stacks
  • Description: Reference to Kamen Rider Garren from Kamen Rider Blade.

Flying Fist
Red text: Just call me Wind
Legendary shield

Any element or none
This shield acts like the Void Rift or the Impaler in that whenever you are shot a dart shoots out and homes in on the enemy which hit you. The main difference is that the damage is not cryo or corrosive damage but melee damage.

It would not be as powerful as the Stinger as it would only hit one enemy at a time, but it would go nicely with mixed gun/melee builds, especially weapons like the Ripper since it would easily apply the debuff at range on your behalf. Also nice with melee effects such as Knife Drain, White Elephant, Static Charge, etc.

The red text is a reference to the 2004 movie House of Flying Daggers.

Name: Scorpion
Type: shield
Red text: GET OVER HERE!
Effect: taking damage from an enemy has a chance to pull them towards you (like singularity but only affecting one enemy so much more powerful). If they impact anything other than you, they take damage, but if they impact you, they take extra damage and this damage counts as melee.

Name: dark star
Type: shield
Red text: I am your density
Effect: crouching triggers a constant singularity effect but massively slows your movement speed. Any nearby enemies suffer a debuff effect that causes them to take extra damage from non elemental sources.

Name: Tesla’s revenge
Type: shield
Red text: that edison guy was a douche
Effect: sliding into an enemy consumes all shield and deals shock damage equal to shield capacity plus a fixed value (which scales with the shield’s level). For ten seconds after depletion, you fire shock tethers at any enemy within range, which deal shock damage to them and recharges your shield by half of the damage dealt. Upon your shield being recharged after depletion, you release a large shock nova.
Basically trying another go at the red card mechanic of slide damage, with a means of quickly recovering shield again to reuse it and making it worth staying close to enemies after depletion, ideal for a melee build that doesn’t rely on facepucher or other ranged melee.

Honestly, i would love to see guns and items that could either turn enemies into allies or allow the player to control the target directly

Name: Nerve gun
Type: AR
Manufacturer: Hyperion
Drop: World drop (mayhem 6 - 10), tyreen the destroyer (mayhem 6 - 10), geneviv (mayhem 6 - 10)
Element: Shock
Red text: WHAT THE KRUNK!!!
Effect: AR with a clip size of 1 & very low damage, upon targeting a non-boss/named enemies crit spot your reticle will slowly lock on to it, when fully locked the gun can fire a nerve dart that will stun the enemy for 1 second & give the player direct control of the target, the player will have access to all of it’s abilites & weapons, gains a 200% damage boost & can break the connection if they want . Their will be limited range, if the player strays to far from their real body it will break the connection (the screen will get progressivly more staticy like if the signal was getting weaker, ally & enemy a,i will interact with it like if it was a player.

The gun is a reference to the control tether from metal arms glitch in the system, it allowed the player to control certain mil bots by locking on to their exposed data ports & firing at it with a tether cabel, the body your controling will still get attacked by enemies
