I wish I could get such a good streak like that with mellkašŸ˜€. Right now my two best kill streaks are 30 with Toby and 29 with orendi

Everyone we play with enjoys a wounded target

I’m sitting at about 1.3 W/L and 2 K/D, I could probably do better but??? I Enjoy Being Bad and Dying A Lot and also I’m Bloodthirsty.
Hands up if u get that tunnel vision when u think you getting the kill but instead u die because you rushed the entire enemy team.

I’m also absolutely horrible at leveling up characters… So I’ve still got quite a few that aren’t lvl 15

I think my best kill streak was…like…15. And I think I achieved that once.
I still haven’t obtained worthy of song. Been one kill shy multiple times. :frowning:

Though, I’m starting to learn Toby cause my three old loves ā€œPenguin!ā€. ā€œPenguin jump high!ā€. ā€œPenguin go roar!ā€

She loves Toby’s taunts.

Edit: best kill streak is 17.
Player kills 1178
Deaths 1783

To be fair, that ratio isn’t too bad considering I’ve played only ten less games of Story than PvP, sitting at 208 pvp games, and 195 pve games.

So a lot of deaths could probably be attributed to PvE. And I am sure they are.
I’m also not the greatest PvP player.
Up until Battleborn, last PvP I played semi-extensively was Halo 3 and barely enjoyed that, unless with friends.

What’s the point of having a challenge to play with character X in the first place though?

I play in a group most of the time and I don’t want to force people to play certain heroes for lore, that seems silly.

For the record I did get stuff like Benedict’s the tour while playing solo, and it took WELL past the level 15 and all other lore completed mark for that to happen, but I don’t feel that playing with 3 other UPR characters x amount of times made me a ā€˜true’ master, it just annoyed me.

Most lore is helpful to learn the character etc, but some aren’t and are just easier to get out of the way in a private setting.

I have all lore and mastery completed now anyway until kid ultra, so I don’t have to worry about it anymore

Well typically from what I can remember most play with X character lores have somewhat notable synergies imo. That and play with X character lores always seem to indicate a notable bond between said characters(the kill X characters lore too does this)

I agree about it being silly to play a character and force somebody to play a character just for lore. However I am a real friendly guy and if somebody could use a character lore I really don’t mind picking one up even if I don’t know how to play it especially in pve.

See I very much disagree that lore helps you to learn a character basically at all. You learn nothing about playing orendi by using the alt fire and you gimp your Dps. You don’t really learn anything from Toby absorbing damage from his shield, from taking the self destruct helix, and certainly nothing useful from the pvp double kill helix. What important tech do you pick up by arrow volleying a player to death in mid air?

One of the only characters off the top of my head who’s lore challenges are actually somewhat informative to his playstyle is whiskey. 2 solid lores showcasing whiskeys crit strength and quick melee potency.

Not all are informative, but some are.

I’d say the volley kills are actually a good example of playing the character properly, since Thorn’s aerial mobility is unrivalled and when played well is bouncing around netting kills from midair with all skills.

Taking damage as Montana is another good one since it prompts you to get on the front lines and there’s plenty more.

Some are plain stupid of course.

Well I am merely saying that I think most lore do not necessarily steer you in the correct way of playing a character or is executed in a rather poor manner.

I think thorns kill with volley lore is difficult for seemingly no reason. You could accomplish more in teaching the characters playstyle by say landing basic arrows 1 second after jumping whilst in the air. Teaches you how to play thorn in a much more efficient way imo

Montanas take a million damage is also imo a terribly misleading lore for him. I think it leads to straight ruination of the character if you go into the fight thinking your a legitimate tank which is why I think he is probably one of the worst characters new players can start with. That lore should definetly be somewhere closer to achieve 500,000 damage reduction or negation or whatever the proper term it would need. That way it would better showcase that Montana can only tank by way of activating skills.

And one more tweak for good measure: alanis lore would be easier to achieve/more informative to proper playstyle, if it was merely affect at least 3 players with riptide but at least one opposing battleborn and one ally battle born. Though that lore in general is painfully shallow for player knowledge of Alani

I agree with you.

I think the INTENT on GBX part was more or less correct, but executed poorly, which extends to most everything about BB unfortunately.

Surely that’s a BIT too harsh…in my opinion…

I agree with your last post. I just couldn’t help but get caught up in a debate as extensive as you were putting out

I’m not referring to the base mechanics of the game itself, I think the gameplay is exceptional, which is why I’m here.

I do think that almost everything else surrounding the game has been filled with grand ideas and good intentions but has for one reason or another never reached parity with their lofty ambitions.

Aside from maybe lack of tutorials (which aren’t actually required, in my opinion), maybe some gear stuff, some PC performance issues, and matchmaking (which isn’t entirely their fault, really), what do you guys think they executed poorly?

@Ginger_greninja

Ah.

Understood.

You Ninja’d me.

Marketing, servers (god help Oceania), matchmaking, balancing, performance issues, implementation of fixes, bugs etc etc

The list goes on. There’s a lot wrong with BB fundamentally which is why it’s struggling. All these issues are well documented by now.

It’s a shame because it is a good game at its core.

I guess you’re right. Thinking about all that stuff makes me sad.

I think I’m kind of burying my head in the sand about a lot of BB related stuff.

I am optimistic. I know it’s probably really wierd to say but I am. Perhaps maybe it’s hopeful? This game has really reinvigorated my competitive side when it comes to games in general and it will be going down with me personally as one of my favorite games of all time along with the borderlands franchise.

It’s wierd. I use to love most games I have ever come across but as far as modern titles go i.e. Fallout 4 the witcher 3 ff15 and all that I am becoming disinterested in what is appealing to the masses. I think gearbox are mold breakers and try to create something that we would refer to in this day and age as ā€œniche.ā€ But if they refuse to make mainstream concepts and gameplay I will be with them for the long haul. Square was a huge part of my childhood but I can’t help but feel like they are sacrificing what made the final fantasy franchise good so I think I may be done with them in a very sad and bitter way. But gearbox? They will be my current company that I tie to being auto buys when they launch titles. Bought this game for digital deluxe day one and it has far exceeded my expectations. Just like borderlands
