Are you sure you’re using her primary attack right? It does enough damage for me to finish foes off if they try to escape. The homing makes it better because if the person is jumping or too small then i can easily land hits on them. Also if you’re jumping while using her homing shots then it will land crits on the enemy unless it’s a minion but works great on thralls and the striker minions.
EDIT : Besides it’s very unlikely that they’ll buff orendi considering how amazing she is atm.

Point it at enemies and shoot! Its not about how you use it, its objectively dreadful. I think her alt-fire is the lowest DPS attack in the game, you may be better off spamming melee attacks. The homing helix seems like a helix made to FIX a BAD attack, which is just bad design. I gave all the examples of other alt fires that bring something DIFFERENT to the table. This one does not, its just weaker chaos bolts. It could at least be a closer-range shotgun blast of chaos bolts with BETTER damage, or have one of her fire-types interact with her abilities like Thorns and Miko or Reyna or Phoebe
If you base this off the battleborn bible it’s wrong look at what the say kleese’s dps is
160?.. 40 damage, 4 shots a second… 160 DPS. Is there something wrong with that to you? Maybe it was changed when his HP was? Looks like his new HP wasnt updated though. Not that it matters, we’re talking about Orendi’s dps not Kleese’s. Even if Kleese’s listed DPS is off, it doesnt mean they’re all off. Not that the DPS is as much of an issue as the range and projectile travel speed. There is a reason she was compared to alani, similar attack type but alani’s is twice as good.
Orendi fires each attack from her primary attack one at a time in a short span. In the same time she fires 4 shots from her secondary twice. I think her secondary fire also has a longer range than her primary though I could be wrong about this.
Considering Kleese killed me in 5.46 second yesterday while I was playing Reyna at full health and there were no other factors in my death besides his shock taser yea there is something wrong with that dps
While I’m all for more usefulness for her alt fire, bear in mind that Orendi is currently in a correct spot balance wise, so any change to her alt fire need to NOT make her stronger or she could easily become too strong and get a nerf no one here want.
An easy fix that would not change her overall power too much would be to have that homing helix a default behaviour of her alt fire. Since the dps is lower, you’re exchanging the lower dps for a bit oof homing at close range, that wouldn’t be OP. probably. And it would make a stronger difference between the two main attacks.
Make the helix choice something else instead. Increasing the fire rate of her main attack, for example, something like that.
thing about orendi and why she is one of my favorites is because she feels like a complete character all in all and when I play other characters some don’t have that,even though mellka is my favorite I feel like something is missing from her (it may be her ultimate)
I think Orendi’s primary/alt attacks are exactly where they are supposed to be because her play loop is not supposed to be centered around primary/alt attacks. Her play loop is designed around utilizing her skills as frequently as possible as should be obvious from her passive ability and the many cool down reduction options in her helix. Primary/alt is what you do while you wait the 4 or so seconds (when her helix is spec’d correctly) it takes for her shadow fire pillars to cool down. With the exception of Alani and post patch Ambra, Orendi is the only other playable, thus far, Battleborn w/ such MASSIVE skill cool down reduction options.
Now on top of what she comes w/ naturally add in some awesome gear like the Chrono Key or the post patch Firmware Update 1.51C and you have a character whose play loop wrecks, period! If you play her like that you’ll have very little trouble killing ALL the things!

No, but it does have an over heat mechanic, but that can still be circumvented with an augment.
I do think that Orendi’s alt fire was meant to be a finishing move, type deal, though it might be more useful if they gave it a charge mechanic or something.
But their DPS isn’t the only thing that’s important, what is the damage per shot, at level 1, and 10?
I love everything about orendi especially her alt because for me the dps is better (at level 3) cause I will miss with her main fire occasionally making all in all dps go up but I find her best when balancing skills with your main and alternative attacks
You know those numbers dont include skills? And are for level 1. Without gear modifiers.
@timtoborne Its low. I mean, even caldarius can wave clear better than orendi can, she has to use all her skills to clear a wave because her auto attacks are such ■■■■■. Even support characters have it better.

Her alt-fire should do something besides a worse version of her primary fire. Like every other character. This is a mechanical discussion, not a balance one.
