Good morning all,
I thought this would be a good article to write being I’ve made some observations while being on the forum and playing nothing but PVP for the last number of weeks to work on Lore challenges. I think there are a number of players out there who still don’t have the basics down of the PVP and maybe not stuff that is laid out for you in any way.
On X1 it’s the down arrow. Use it. If you are low on health and not in a fight or by large shards-use it. GB doesn’t really advertise this feature and it’s pretty amazing they don’t. I made it pretty far into the 40’s before I figured it out. Wish I would have known earlier. Yes, I’m aware that advertising will let people know so you may get less kills on people hanging out in the middle of the map with almost no health. LOL
It’s your friend and mine. Its that thing in the corner of your screen. I believe if you can see the enemy colors it’s because they are shooting. This should give you a good idea of where they are. If you aren’t doing anything and on your map you see one of your guys 1v1 or 2v1- GO EFFING HELP. Far too many times have I been on the bad end of 2-1 or 3-1 because people aren’t paying attention. Also, if I’m taking on 3 that means the rest of you can’t handle the 2 that remain. If you see someone ping the double thrall in the middle, and you aren’t doing anything, go help. It will help you with XP and your team with the thralls.
Do not rage quite-please
If you find you are not getting kills-it happens- find something else to do with your time. Kill bots if applicable. Get shards. make turrets, go after thralls…etc. Find something that you CAN do while your team is trying to get kills. It’s not that big of a deal to not get kills. If I’m not getting kills against them, i’ll just do what I can to be supportive. I don’t just sit and aimlessly fire at the enemy. I make damn sure I get assists. Do that. Quitting also puts the rest of us at a disadvantage. No fun for anyone in the already hard times to get a good match.
Yes, you can and should be able to die. It happens. Hell, it may happen a lot. Just try and be productive while doing it. If you aren’t killing do what you can to get XP or shards or whatever. Be an extra body to someone who is getting killed via the map. You won’t be huge every game. I go on pretty good tears of 15-0 and sometimes I go 0-5 on the same guy. Just try and be productive.
Yes, it happens- a lot. When your team is losing try and remain calm. Do not quite. I would rather lose via a full team than by having half the team “disconnect”.
It’s a game, right?
Yes, it is a game. Lets try and have fun. It shouldn’t be frustrating but sometimes it is. Especially when the basics of the game I have laid out above aren’t being met. 99.99% of the time people can handle losing even when people who suck are in the game. Naturally everyone can’t be super great. We all get it. Even in a loss you should be able to have some fun. I understand some of this has to do with matchmaking and additional factors, but take a loss in stride. There are a large volume of people who get annoyed at losing- and I’m one of them. I hate losing, but it’s just a game and I try to have fun.
Sending messages to other people
Yeah, this one is funny. I’ve gotten all kinds of hate mail from gamers over the years. They range from “suck less” to “stop killing everyone and find another game to play”. Just don’t send messages to others in your frustration. First of all, it’s hilarious. Second, it makes you look stupid. If you feel you need to send a message, make sure it isn’t hate mail. LOL, so much hate mail.
Have fun. Can’t stress this enough. Too many people with their mics on yelling at the TV when they are having for more problems than anyone. It’s just a game. Try the guy you want and move on to the next one if you aren’t having success. If you are in game and no success, do other stuff. Everyone can appreciate you for that. We all have lore challenges for PVP so we have to do it. Try and make the best of it. I think making people aware of some of the general stuff would greatly increase overall play and strengthen us.
