Question about Complex Root

Hi. I got an Complex Root recently. But if I attach artifact that have Area-of-effect-damage stat and use Complex Root, the range of attack of the projectile is too large and I keep dying myself. Does Area-of-effect-damage stat increase the range of attacks on this weapon?

Yes, and having 2 radius increase will make it hit the entire map and kill you. I think if you use 1 it won’t be that large and you can use it somewhat normally.

Just FYI, Complex Root is fixed in PS5/XSeries version of the game and no longer nukes the whole map.

You can use the gun safely if you get behind cover after shooting.
Or if you make yourself invulnerable by various means.

And when in fight for your life, you have the perfect healing potion in hand.

That gun is game breakingly powerful.

Also, entering the gunner seat of Iron Bear makes you invulnerable to the Complex Root killzone, too. So, even with no cover available, you can at least fire two shots safely without repercussions. Update: Just tested it on a trial with a splash Moze with Auto Bear and Dakka Bear and some action skill recovery stuff … Basically for every encounter you can just fire the CR twice, enter Iron Bear and immediately exit, fire CR twice, enter and exit gunner seat, do that again.
