this is an excellent point. I do get bored up front like that. so i do something dangerous and I like doing that even though I’ll sometimes die from it when things just dont go my way. messing with the enemy team like that is hilarious and thus I am not bored any more.
me and Demz make a savage team. have you ever tried to hit a mellka or Deande bouncing around you (granted there are few Deande’s who can bounce)? Now imagine both of them bouncing around. who do you kill first? how do you hit them? primary attacks are all but worthless so you need skills. So maybe get another Deande to blink storm us.
anyway it takes too long and if things look bad we vanish and come back latter.
Um, because sometimes people genuinely don’t care what mode to play and don’t want their vote to accidentally override the wishes of someone who really does want to play a particular mode?
I agreed with the OP until I read this comment and thought about it for a minute. There are more players now then there have been for months, lots of new players and old ones returning, I don’t know why we’re back to one queue which caused so much trouble the last time this happened. At the same time though, I would still like the option to vote for Incursion for those times when the options are the same map for Capture and Face Off, and Paradise.
I’ve always found that questionable too, you could always just not vote which is what a lot of people do anyway, rarely in my experience do all ten players actually cast a vote. It’s not problematic, I just don’t know why it exists. Even better would be if that slot was random, so if you don’t like any of the given map options you have a chance at getting something else.
From what I’ve seen a big chunk of the ‘no preference’ votes come from people who are AFK when the match is being made.
If there was a mode slot there they would need to make it so the cursor doesn’t start on something by default or whatever comes up bottom right is gunna get picked a lot.
It just autolocks no preference if you choose nothing. I don’t think it HAS the option to actually let you choose nothing, so it may either be forced random votes after 3p seconds or keeping no preference around
Vote or die ■■■■■■■■■■■■ ■■■■■■■■■■■■ vote or die!
Ah that one, it goes like this:
Let’s get out and vote, let’s make our voices heard.
We’ve been given the right to choose between a douche and a turd.
It’s democracy in action, put your freedom to the test.
Big fat turd or a stupid douche, which do you like best!?
And hey, I’m not one of those non-voters (At least not in Battleborn democracy, anyway) I tend to always be the one player voting for Meltdown
I swear, Face Off is the reason I hate Capture now, I used to queue for it all the time back when the three modes were three separate queues. Well not all the time, when I was waiting for a friend to finish a match or wanted a quick one more before bed, you know But still, screw you Face Off and quick match queue
No i’m talking about those matches where you faced our five man when you were down one and with randoms and still came out on top. I still haven’t lost a game yet playing with you though.
This is my experience too, it seems that Incursion teams only know how to play that one mode. Thanks to the minion buff, deathballing on Meltdown is less effective nowadays, a great team comp can still get away with it on Paradise which is why I hate that map but deathballing doesn’t fly on Coldsnap or Outskirts, often SimilarPie and I call a match in the opening minute based on out opponent’s opening strategy, often hyper-aggressive teams will get a fast start but inevitably lose on Meltdown as we focus on wave clear even if we die for it and eventually the score shifts drastically, we’ve had several matched duo-queuing where we were down 50-250 then surged back at back grinders and barely lost a point from then on to win 500-300. Incursion tactics just don’t work anymore, but take note of the enemy vote, they’ll all lock in Paradise if Echelon is the Incursion choice or there is no Incursion, next is usually Capture Temples (easy to spawn camp and control Varelsi spawns)
Yeah, I play too much when I can foresee the enemy vote or outcome of a match before it even starts
in my experience, it doesn’t seem too ineffective. I’ll go back to one of my posts from my first couple of days on these forums, lol. Kill the player, the minions will get through. naturally you can’t do one lane only, but if your team has a presence in the lane and the other team doesn’t, your minions are the ones that are going to survive.
Not voting forces people to wait for the timer even if everyone is ready (not that this is a big deal since pretty much never does everyone vote in time).
