You also gotta think that, unless he was using the Oasis overwrite strat to instantly spawn at the armory, he was probably letting Knoxx kill him if he didn’t get a fast enough time. That way he wouldn’t have to drive there every time.
I thought only corrosive DoT applied the debuff, and Knoxx can’t be Dot’d?
And in terms of Gun Crazy, I can somewhat understand. I’ve been told before that the skill doesn’t work, and I believed it because I expected it to work like Two Fang, and it doesn’t. It wasn’t until I read the wiki and watched to see if my shots did double damage, that I actually felt relieved that I spec’d into it anyway. And I was about to spec into RR instead, until I went on a wiki reading binge.

For Knoxx runs, if i want to be farming as quickly as possible, I will either do this:
Or this:
As everything in life, practice makes perfect. Do enough of these runs and your get into a groove that you’re comfortable with.
For those curious:
Mordy vs Knoxx was about 11 seconds from first shot to death.
Brick vs Knoxx was about 30 seconds form first shot to death.
I don’t use Lilly or Roland for quick kills because I personally find it difficult to kill Knoxx before getting swarmed by stuff.
That being saaaaid:
@NOLAftw Did an amazing kill with Roland a few years back. thought I would share.

If you throw grenades at the base of Rolands turrent it can duplicate them. Allowing for crazy high jumps. Joltz guide is cool and all but he is a pro at grenade jumping lol so it’s sometimes difficult to replicate his work. Roland makes things waaaay easier XD

Thanks! Just tried it yesteday, but misremembered the method and so I used sticky grenade instead. Failed, time for another attempt I guess.
edit: gave up again.

You’re welcome. Yeah, it’s incredibly difficult and went through a lot of frustration myself. As @Stouty22 says, it’s probably best to leave it to Roland. You can do the first jump from the ground easily with the super grenade jump and from there skip the other three jumps outright.
Not to mention his infinite supply of grenades (although the structure there confuses the supply packs) and 9/5 in Deploy recharges his turret remarkably fast.
I just don’t do it this way because I play nothing but my Siren with @MidnightNova

I did it last night, it took me about 40 minutes to get over the barrier, so scrap that method, too many variables, too many things go wrong, so it’s quicker to reload the game at least on PS3, controls are to flimsy. So Knoxx’s head is going to hurt more times than I wanted, not a big deal at least I know that I can get there in 15 minutes each time.

That’s quite unfortunate, I found it very doable on the PS3 even with the awful DS3 controller (switched to DS4 since though now that I know it works almost flawlessly in this game). Perhaps your timing is a bit off? I tend to stand in front of the turret to throw the longbow grenade. For the second jump that’s not really an option so I throw it away from where I want to get (the barrier itself) and then stand behind the turret doing the same, holding the Left stick towards the barrier after getting launched.

I guess I will try it more to practice.

I wish you good luck. For some guidance you can still look up Joltzdude tutorial on how to enter the armory without the related quests
You can just ignore the the rest of the video after the first two jumps. He doesn’t do it like me but you should still be able to get a feeling for it.

Maybe it’d be worth learning the trick if armory yielded as good loot as Crawmerax. So what’s the estimated chance to find pearl in armory? Have found only 4 pearls from crimson lance chests this far.
At one point when I reached 2500 rocket laucher KA BOOOOOOOM!!! challenge(Crawmerax) kills I had ~25 pearls found I recall, so I guess it’s ~1 pearl per 100 Craw frags. However Craw is fast farm, killling him 7 times per run, that takes ~30+ minutes including checking all of loot. In short, 1 pearl per 7 irl hours of farming Craw in average.

Actually, 2 years ago most of my Pearls were from Lance Chest (only got a Serpens and Stalker from Craw).
Of all the Lance Chests finds, only a Rose, and I think the Omega were found outside the Farmory back then.
It is only recently since I started playing with @WinterschneeFee that it has become spread out more evenly.
Of course, RNG is RNG, and it could just be odd luck.

With the grenade jump method you’ll get a lot more. This is my farming route.
So about 5 minutes per run to get 17 Lance chest, and 20-24 red chest. There are 4 more Lance chest I could have gotten, but I usually choose to skip them.
It took a lot of practice to find where I could climb the geometry at the start, and when I should jump during the grenade explosion.
The bad part about Craw is that (at least for me) I can only do 5 runs before my game crashes. Which means there is a lot of down time while driving. If his loot de-spawned I would farm him a lot more, if for nothing else but the fact it’s more fun.

I got it last night, found the optimal position of the turret, and made it fairly quickly, so it works. I was happy as the time when I first kill Craw.

Granted I have very limited knowledge on this game, but I decided to do some test on the General Knoxx in the boss rush part of the Robolution, as I needed a new game to obsess over.
Best options found so far:
-
Lilith
- Dahl Professional w/ Corrosive Bulldog
- Taking all things into consideration, this was the best option by far. I could easily kill Knoxx in less than 2 mags, and it allowed me to even avoid the very first round of Suicide Claptraps.
- Dahl Professional w/ Corrosive Penetrator was only slightly slower, but I had to use ~80% of my ammo pool. Specter w/ Corrosive Invader was the only other weapon that got a decent time.
- Relative failures: Corrosive Torgue Stinger, Torgue Anarchy, Corrosive Torgue Wrath, Fire Bulldog, Non-Elemental Bulldog, Anaconda Masher, Unforgiven Masher, Bessie, and Defiler
-
Roland
- Commando w/ Corrosive Bulldog
- It was already proven as the likely winner by a video above, and again, it killed him well before the Suicide-traps even got close enough to get a kill skill.
- Relative failures:
- Ajax Ogre, Serpens, Corrosive Destroyer, and Unforgiven Masher? (can’t remember if I tried it or not)
-
Mordecai
- Jakobs Gunfighter w/ Unforgiven Masher
- Again, a video was already made.
- Relative failures:
-
Brick
- Ogre w/ Corrosive Bulldog
- He had the worst DPS out of all of the characters, and only got through about 80% of his health by the time the Suicide-traps got to me. But after that I got kill skills and everything was fine.
- Relative failures:
- I didn’t try anything else with him, as he doesn’t seem like he’d do well with anything else, and the Bulldog was already a winner for 2 of the other characters. But if someone thinks a corrosive Nidhogg will do the trick, I’m willing to try it out.

Yeah, for Mordecai, a good Jakobs Masher is probably the best bet. Unforgiven probably is the best, but not significantly better than any good barrel4/5 mat1/3 Masher because the additonal crit damage of the UF is pretty much irrelevant on Knoxx.
That said, a Corrosive Penetrator paired with an Assassin Class Mod (+4 Deadly for a puny bit more crit damage but the skills are pretty much irrelevant) is pretty fast as well. My Penetrator was not perfect (mat3, good damage but 8 mag) but I was still able to pull a kill in about 18 seconds IIRC.
Hmm, for Lilith, I thought the Anaconda Masher w Professional would do pretty good. The Plaguebearer actually outDPSes the Specter for the Invader, though you had probably run our of ammo XD.
For Roland, I have seen the Chopper being used to great effect. Not sure how a mag5 corrosive Torgue shotgun with a Heavy Gunner would perform though.
Brick doesn’t have too many options. Don’t think the corrosive Nidhogg (with Warmonger?) would work given Knoxx is pretty much armored all over and takes 6 times more damage on a critical hit as opposed to a body shot.

Why would it be irrelevant? The Unforgiven also has ~12% more damage, and the reduced fire rate doesn’t really matter, as you have to wait for him to finish flinching. And yeah, I was just listing the best.
I was under the impression that those coms only boosted DoT damage, nice to know that isn’t the case.
I found that all you really get out of that com with this set up is the 61% gun damage and +4 High Velocity. The mag boost is too small to boost a 2 shot, and Quicksilver doesn’t really matter because of the flinch. And it is only a “relative” failure, it still does good, just not as good.
The Bulldog killed him in 14 seconds.
I just felt that if the Anarchy didn’t preform well, the Chopper wouldn’t either. I tested it since you mentioned it and it killed him in 13.5 seconds, but it was the same probably as the snipers on Lilith. You’re going to use 90% of your ammo pool per kill. But it was faster then the Bulldog, which killed him in 15 seconds.
I don’t have the best BL1 aim, but the Bulldog does better just because you can keep it, and land all of your shots, on crit. I tried barrel 5 and 2 on the Torgue btw.
