No Man’s Sky launched on PC a little while ago…and the steam forums are in uproar. I was looking forward to watching some today, but oh well…
Apparently it’s not delivering on the performance side of things? I’ve never paid much attention to FPS but if it’s really affecting visual performance… Mind you steam forums and reviews are often ghastly places.
All the reviews are either “didn’t live up to the hype” (well duh, it was hyped up to Everest), or “I built a computer from 200 years into the future and still got 20 FPS”. I guess it’s just optimized terribly.
I guess my machine isn’t gonna be enough to even run it at all, then. Considering how bad Fallout 4 runs for me, unlike the new Doom, which besides crashing occasionally runs just fine. I dunno, all I know is that my CPU is old and picky about running things well.
‘played’? The extra “ed” is unnecessary, I’m still waiting on my next reset at 23m prestige. I’ll take a look though. Also, the forums new warning about reposting links/pictures/videos is irritating.
Oh. Oh wow. I’d run across some people talking about it being bad, but I had no idea the problems were that large.
Is… Is that possible?
Jaysus.
Well, SpacePlan can be beaten, like beaten beaten in a couple hours. Has some story but it’s pre good. [quote=“TemetNosce, post:2421, topic:1356662”]

Changing settings from low to high makes no difference for me as well, but any AA or Anisotropic Filtering above a solid 1 kills it.
Game is pretty fun but fk me the random frame drops is a killer.
I am shocked. Anisotropic Filtering makes so little of a difference in performance (or should) that it should barely be an option in games anymore, yet they somehow managed to ■■■■ it up?
They managed to make the ‘max fps’ slider broken af too.
30 - gives me 15
60 - gives me 20
I skipped the rest and went to ‘max’ which gives me 32-40.
I don’t know how or what even
Welp. There goes any chance of me buying it, I don’t even have a great computer anyways.
There’s a very short summary here:
This is not what you want to read:
Well, until you get borderless to work.
Okay so 3 ish hours in and I’m gettin bored with the planets I’ve been getting.
Well Spotify has started adding a bunch of game soundtracks to their library, I’m happy.
Also something something No Mans Sky, more like No Play Sky
Has Halo and Mass Effect 3 soundtracks, godbless.
And Furi, and Ori, and Payday 2-ri.
It’s great.
Well I think Goat Simulator is still on sale
Okay?
They think Goat Simulator is on sale : ^ )
