I was honestly just shocked when it happened. Weird number for it to stop on, even if it is bugged. Maybe it counted removed posts, and actually stopped on 20k?

Whew just pleasantly surprised it was locked from breaking discourse and not forum mama drama.
Thankfully I saw this before I noticed that. On a side note apparently Kitty is attempting to fix it, and Discourse is… Not cooperating.

Edit: I think the new limit is a thing because discourse threads have been reported to suffers problems ween there are to many posts.

It might be counting only direct replies (like this one that is specifically responding to your post) rather than a general “Reply” to the OP. Or, it may be that they just introduced the feature and it got applied retroactively. I guess we’ll know when we reach 10k posts in this version (if anyone even remembers to check.)

Dubious on the first, given it was only around 600 posts short of 20k, I mean personally I rarely used direct replies, so I’d expect a far larger part of the thread than that to be otherwise. The second seems relatively probable though.
Haha discourse is to powerful even the mods can’t overpower it.
Indeed, that would be far too convenient. To wit, “It’s not a bug, it’s a feature.”
