Random Talk Thread Mk. II

Look. We’re not talking about generalizing a race or a religion or anything else. We’re talking about a large number of people that lived in the same region have migrated to your region that I have to assume from what you’ve said are black from the southern LA area.

That’s not a problematic thing to discuss, and I don’t why it would be considered so. You can ask any of these bastards, I am king fuckbastard of the SJW army, but saying that people of different races in the same region talk differently isn’t genralization, its a goddamned fact.

Great example on my part - I do IT work for my state (Virginia). You know one of the quirks that African Americans have in the Richmond region?

R = Aura.

I’d never heard it at all because I live in a weird, sequestered part of the state, but was trained to use the military phonetics when reading off our passwords because they’re randomized and I need to be clear to my customers. One of the first things I noticed was this, and its so weird to me, but very common parlance to the group.

“Alright ma’am, so your password is the number 4, L as in Lima, R as in Romeo, K as in Kilo”

“Let me say that back to you, Four, L, Aura, K…”

To me, there’s no real fault. It’s the same language, but not the same dialect that you are used to. You and I did the right and only sane ■■■■■■■ thing - we adapted and learned. This doesn’t even have to be from a ■■■■■■■ pronunciation but just a tone, a twist of words.

Thatss literally how language works - people understand each other by the different way they use words, including context, volume, tone…

Saying you understand another regional, ethic, racial, or geographic groups verbal patterns isn’t auto saying something else unless you’re trying to be a dick about it.

It can be difficult how to correctly word what you mean given the climate today, but ■■■■. This is how humanity works best. When we understand each other.

Blarg.

Drunk Rage spit.

My approach to these topics has been conditioned by time spent on other sites populated by some that are waiting for anything that can be construed as -ist of some type, but I should know better by now on here that I needn’t tiptoe around.

Thanks once more for another Lewis Black-esque diatribe, the Left needs more firebrands of your caliber.

On the contrary, I’m a politically correct feminazi (and SJW) who’s sitting with tented fingers poised to say how you’ve triggered me! It’s the good life.

Also… the mods.

Eh, if I ever need to needle you I have my ways, and a mod who does the same :stuck_out_tongue:

Also PC femi-nazis are just broads that need a man in their life, you’ll get better

When I find @Derch’s weakness I will pull it and unravel him like a skein of soft wool. And then my cat will attack the wool.

To be fair, it has. I feel that part of the problem when referring to a lot of things of this nature is the constant changing of vernacular betwixt certain groups, which has served many of those groups less than it should.

I’m probably just drunk bitching, but I feel like the only way we’re going to over come some crazy ■■■■ as a species is to sit down and figure ■■■■ out with one another. And a part of that is understanding each others parlance.

Calling someone out on speaking in a way that they understand but doesn’t fit their background doesn’t vibe with me.

Funny story, the thing I hate most about all the PC non PC talk is how “triggered” is just thrown around all willy nilly.

God. ■■■■■■■. Dammit.

Eh, some of us are guys. Not that some guys dont need a man in their life. Or vice versa. Or something?

Just have fun with that.

Wouldn’t his weakness be lasers at that point? I mean, just… contemporarily?

Hattie the Supervillain has revealed her plans! Careful Hattie - don’t get caught monologuing. (A decent soliloquy would OK though.)

And now I feel the unholy need to work out my aggression on things.

Think it will be battleborn tonight.

Something quick and bloody.

Supervillain? I think you mean liberator. And it’s ok. I used the skilled facade of metaphor.

To Alf or not to Alf?
That is the question…*

*that will never be asked in the New New Forum Republic

Oh pfft.

All the good supervillians are heroes in their own right, they just need the right motivation.

Sauron was a great liberator if you want to get wacky about it.

On a side note, I’ve always fancied myself as the male #2 to a female supervillain, so if you ever feel like throwing your hat in the ring, I have a very persuasive resume.

Excellent.

Well all supervillains worth their salt also need scientific nerds to sit in the background and work the elaborate secret technology… @VaultHunter101, I think you’re qualified for that, get your labcoat

I was just joking with her, those MRA/Redpill ■■■■■■■■ that actually speak that way piss me off to no end.

There really are a lot of things that can be made clearer through simple communication as you said.

Story time kiddos…

So, once many many years ago I had racked up some pretty hefty traffic fines and found myself between jobs. After weighing the contents of my bank account against the amount of free time I had available, I decided I would do better by sitting out my tickets in city jail instead of paying the fees.

It was an illuminating experience. It’s one thing to know in an conceptual sense that minorities are subject to different treatment in the criminal justice system, and another to see it.

For one thing, on the entire floor for the couple of weeks I was there (like I said, hefty) there were on average 2-3 white guys in at a time, vs something like 50 blacks or hispanics. These guys were being held waiting for court dates for trivial offenses, things that friends of mine had been released on their own recognizance for in the past.

While doing work at the jail, I heard white cops use racial slurs toward guys I was sharing a room and meals with. It broke my heart, because what was shocking for me didn’t even register as being unusual for them.

And there wasn’t much to do in a cell except read the Bible (I did the whole thing excepting some of the books of prophecy toward the end of the Old Testament and skimming through the parts of Leviticus that were recaps of the laws of Moses previously covered in Exodus) and talk.

So I got to hear stories, and just get to know, in a way I never would have on the outside, the people I was with. And yeah, there are some big cultural divides, but ultimately they were just people trying to make it the same as I was.

I learned a lot from that. That I was scared the first time I was led into the cell and saw that I was a minority for the first time in my life, that the system I was going to be subject to for those couple of weeks was set up to control and restrict me. And that is the reality the men I lived with face every day of their lives.

I certainly wouldn’t recommend incarceration as a means to facilitate this kind of learning, because jail is really ■■■■■■. But one learns a lot when they are out into the place of the Other.
