Iāve new names for them ā Mistress Thesis and Master Funktaster.
Also, āMaker-upper-of-wurdzā.
For @hattieinduni, that is so appropriate. Because the pen is mightier than the sword, don't you know?
- mistress: a woman in a position of authority or control.
- master: a machine or device directly controlling another.
So, uhā¦some of you I know pretty well.
Others I somewhat know?
Others I barely know or donāt know at all!
Where yāall from?
What games do you play on what systems?
You been around these boards for a while, or are you newish?
I donāt mind people knowing my real name and where Iām fromā¦
Iām Dave, 34 (ugh getting old) from Calgary Alberta Canada, on PS4, finally attending college, working to a Business Management diploma.
Cooked in various kitchens for like 17 yearsā¦loved the lifestyle (parties, drugs / booze, good food, late nights / sleep all day) but decided a few years ago it was time for a change.
( damn you @system )
Texass
BL2, Stellaris, and Divinity OS2 mostly here lately, PC. Made the move from xbone last year
been pretty active here for over a year, mostly lurked and asked the occasional question in the BL2 section for a year or so
Iām {redacted} (a few people know but I donāt broadcast it. I work, play, and dad.
Yay, sharing!
Iām from England, which means I have a sexy accent, repression, and imperial guilt.
I tried to play on a controller once and it was embarrassing, so⦠PC.
Signed up here ages ago, I think it was when I hit 72 for the first time in Borderlands and was looking for players. Then I came back a while later and discovered off topic, which got me lost
Howās college going? Doing it as an adult can take a lot of grit, I commend you. By contrast I just went straight after school and never stopped, now in my 8th year. Iām doing a PhD, and it hurts. In the English department, so itās pretty isolated - pretty much all solitary reading and writing, Iām glad I have this community, it makes a real difference. Literally being kept going by the thought of introducing myself as āDrā - and getting a like from @Adabiviak.
Nope. āslugabedā is an actual word. You can thank Shakespeare (probably) for that.
Huh, I had you pegged as more of a west coast (Vancouver) dude.
@VaultHunter101 @Raven_Ghosthawk
No, legit Shakespeare!
HAMLET: To be, or not to be - that is the question.
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slugabeds and arvoles of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troublesā¦
Also, youāre technically correct about Vancouverā¦was born there and we lived there until I was 2.

Mistress! What, mistress! Juliet!āFast, I warrant her, she.ā
Why, lamb! Why, lady! Fie, you slug-a-bed.
Romeo and Juliet Act 4, Scene 5
I hail from the United States.
Iām not much of a console person, I prefer playing on PC.
I joined these forums years ago, Because I wanted to talk about BL2 and Battleborn.
My name is (REDACTED). But you can call me either: Havocbyte, Havoc, DaydreamTracer or Bacon Hair.
@hattieinduni
Looooove you Brits, and your accents!
(Irish, Scots, Welsh and Aussies, too!)
My dad raised me on Monty Python and other classic British comedies, so Iāve had a lifelong love affair with you folks.
Funny story: went on an all-inclusive week long vacation to Cancun back in 2007.
There were a ton of UK people there, for whatever reason, and all I did was drink a ton and have drunken shenanigans with them all day and night for all my time there. By the 2nd or 3rd day in, I was speaking with a British accent and it persisted for about 3 days after getting back home.
I remember hearing all my fellow Canucks and thinking how weird we all sounded!

I learned it from you thoughā¦

@hattieinduni
Oh and college is a ton of fun, thoroughly enjoying it, although I still skip / procrastinate more than I should!
Thank you for asking!
Glad itās going well!
Procrastination ftw lol. I probably annoy everyone with thesis grief too much on hereā¦
Sorry, I know im probably posting too much too fastā¦did you read my Cancun story?
@hattieinduni
