God it’s been so long I don’t remember half the political stuff. I remember relena always getting into dumb situations.

Have they moved most of the stuff to space yet? That’s when the series really picks up for me.

Yeah I predict her getting into lots of dumb situations that you wouldn’t expect her type to get into. e.g. pulling a gun on a military officer in a ballroom setting. I loved it. But a bit much, methinks.

Recently the Gundam pilots met up, Tallgeese is running around, and Heero is MIA after poofing his mobile armor. Quatre and Duo are heading somewhere and next episode… the Asian pilot… Wu… Fei? Him? He’s supposed to be getting back into his groove after mucking up the assassination attempt on Treize.
Y’know. The one where he could’ve just wrecked the battleship Treize was on. The one where he got out of his suit, and dueled him in a sword fight. And lost.
Personally, I don’t get why he’s so broken up about it, totally reasonable chain of events.
Good kid.

So no, no space yet.

Wu Fei’s got a weird thing about honor, also about hating women. Like not even in a fun misogynistic way. He just straight up is weird about it.

I take it that dog went external…

Also, you r XHD? Wtf? Is that dog a T-Wrecks?

Forum real? Amazing…!

If you guys are talking Gundam, I was for “Gundam 00” and “Gundam Unicron”. FCOL, “Unicron” had one of the best fight scenes ever – and from grunt suits!:

I’m glad the awfulness of this was recognised but it should never have happened. In summary, some of the Windrush generation (so-called because they were immigrants from Caribbean countries - British colonies - and first arrived on a boat called Windrush) generation have been suddenly threatened with deportation.

A bit like the DACA situation I guess; these people have lived here for decades (they emigrated between the '40s and '70s) and have contributed so much to British society and culture. There’s a really fantastic book called The Lonely Londoners, which illustrates the perspectives of early emigrants, including the racism they experienced but also the ways they worked to participate in society. It’s very much worth reading!

Anyway I can’t stand the imperial mindset behind all this. Britain is a natural space for people from colonies / ex-colonies to migrate to (because of shared language for one thing) but rather than giving them respect and citizenship, which might go some way to repaying the debt caused by what we did to these places, we just reimpose the same attitudes.

The campaign to stop this has been heartening though. And this cheered me a little:

How is that different then just googling it

I just tried it. It’s cleaner, for one thing - just gives you quotations from books, with the ability to preview those. I ended up clicking through and ordering something from Amazon because of that. This could actually be quite dangerous…

To be fair, the quote that caught my eye was from an out-of-print book that I’ve been meaning to try and get for about 6 years, so when the search results suggested that copies were available I decided to go for it. Hopefully it’s in reasonable condition. (There don’t appear to be any legit eBook versions either, so it’s that or trying to find a safe bootleg pdf from some where…)

The Historical Background of Chemistry
Leicester, Henry M.

Been out of print for a long time. The paperback came out in 1971, although I think the first hard cover edition was in the 1950s?
