Random Talk Thread, MK. IV

Gotcha, thanks. Holding my breath on the Fairphone, they’re making an announcement on the 27th. The company behind it has labour rights and parts recycling in mind.

Sadly carrier locking is still very much a thing here. For that reason I usually prefer SIM free / unlocked phones, but I don’t really have enough money for that right now, at least not for an iPhone… contracts aren’t a bad way to get credit.

Welcome to the Light Side, @Hattie!

We have a variety of different desserts.

And tons of customization!

Remember, everyone should get along. Regardless of what OS they use.

The reason why I’m saying this is because, The whole “Android vs iOS/Mac vs PC” thing has gotten WAY too old by this point.

Oh I much prefer iOS, for various basic reasons, I’ve no desire for Android. Unless it’s on a phone that uses conflict-free tungsten!

The origin of the argument actually made more sense than the whole phone OS thing. I still remember how nuts the single button mouses Apple used drove me.

Also, kind of want an eclair now.

Those old macs were super pretty though.

That’s okay.

I’ve never really heard of Fairphone before. I don’t think their phones are available in the US.

Even though I’m a lifelong PC user. But you gotta admit, The G4 Cube was beautiful.

I was thinking more of the blockier stuff, but I can admit there were some pretty pieces in there over the generations.

Soo I’ve been thinking about Borderlands 3. I’m in two minds about waiting for Steam. Seeing as the Epic release is on September 13th, my PhD exam is on the September 11th (gulp) I’m thinking of solving the problem by tying the purchase v wait debate to the outcome.

What dya think the strategy on this should be:

  • Buy if I pass (or have minor corrections)… justified free time ahead
  • Buy if it’s major rewrites… source of commiseration

If I fail outright both these consequences will arise so no problem :stuck_out_tongue:

I’d say, buy it if you pass. That way you can feel rewarded for your hard work.

I’d vote for both. Or for you to get a PS4 and become one of us with no vested interest in epicgate. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

No idea what to say honestly, given I’m also on the fence at this point after how its snowballed.

Hehe, alas, I get a twinge whenever I see you guys on together but I have to preserve my cash until I can get a job post-phd! No wild purchases, apart from indulging in the odd, shall we say, film. Also I’m completely incapable of using controllers lol.

You know I’m just teasing. :hugs:

You don’t know mediocrity until you’ve seen me trying to land consistent crits with a dual stick control scheme.
