That’s a LOT of bloopers…

Woke up today to the sight of fine powdery snow being blown all over the landscape. Had to go out shopping and then shovelling just now, and there’s a couple of inches. Good job it’s still light. Back into the cave for me, I think.

Coffee won’t stop me from a nap. Sometimes you gotta dig deep!

And sometimes a nap is the best thing since sliced bread… :blzzzzzz:

The parents cut down an old Stone Pine that’s been at the house for many decades. These aren’t native here in California (was a little ornamental thing planted in the 60s that grew into a big 'ol beast). Compared to the local pines, this species is fantastic for wood burning (I took a large branch home a few years ago, and just recently burned it). There are probably five, maybe six truckloads… brought two home today (and if my back is still alive tomorrow morning, will go back for more).

I also got enough snowmelt in the bank to fill my three bins with fresh water - enough to keep my carnivorous plants wet all summer long.

went to a tribute band concert last night. The headline act was Led Zeppagain, but the opening act was Fan Halen. FH were legit good, and it was the David Lee Roth years, so lots of hits. Led kept the spirit of the band, but not too great. sound was bad at times and it was very hard to hear the singing.

but nontheless, the performances were good. I wish i could have taken my camera, but it wasnt allowed in the venue. only phone or poin and shoot.

I just witnessed Brandi Carlile at her fourth night at the Ryman, which was already absolutely amazing, and then amongst all the other awesomeness she sang Joni Mitchell’s “A Case of You.”

DEAD.

I’m now doing some late night eBay shopping.

I think I have a problem.

So, how is everyone?

If nothing else, I love the band names!

I recorded a few of the songs with my phone, but like specific songs only (the ones that are epic like Eruption and Stairway to Heaven). I had other stuff recording but had to cut it short cause folks started to block my view.

A lot of tribute bands come to perform around where I live. Which is nice. clever names too

Hey guys, if you like true stories about, by, and for idiots, watch screwball on Netflix. The state of Florida continues to prove reality is an illusion.

Or the idea of clean sports.

Edit : I alluded to this in the music thread of all places, but while I have few illusions that sports in the 70’s was pure, the current state of it disgusts me absolutely.

You know, that means like nothing to me. I’m a tangential sports fan at best, and I know its a real issue.

What gets me is one guy with minimal training and no medical license can pull off a drug ring that big with huge high profile clients… And the only reason it goes south is because he shorted one musclehead 4,000 dollars (which by his own estimate, was just a little over half his monthly cocaine budget).

If this story is not completely about insane morons, there’s no way they ever get caught.

For kicks check out Icarus. Similar type of thing but this instead was the unintentional documenting of the Russian Olympic ban. Probably less trashy but still pretty jaw dropping.

Id seen that one. That one felt more realistic of just… The right guy stumbling on to the right things.

This one feels legit like a dark Hollywood comedy. Can’t believe it all happened.

-Yawns- I had a long day.

The good news is I have to study tomorrow!

The bad news is I’m running out of coffee and other caffeinated drinks.

-9 ° C (16 ° F) outside.

Now this finally starts to feel like winter.

It’s warmed up here by contrast. 52 Fahrenheit right now, the weekly low is supposed to be 47. The rain slowed down sadly.

It’s 30°F down here.

WE WANT SNOW!

Obvi, there’s big money in sports. So my personal opinion is that athletes - especially strength athletes - will do whatever they need to do to be No. 1. I assume they’re all using something, they just are a step ahead of the testing regimen.

In other news… It’s 19 degrees here today. Chance of snow and freezing rain later this week into Thursday night. Which is bad, as I’m taking my son to the NHL Fan Fair thing on Thursday night after work. WE’RE GETTING PICS TAKEN WITH THE STANLEY CUP.
