I’d be more impressed by the Christmas cactus blooming in October, except my roses die in like a week. So as is, the rose is probably the crazier thing here.
We’ve had blooms on ours at some pretty odd times this year. I think we’ll be getting another batch at Christmas, bit we’ve already had some back in the spring!
Might be the varietal I have here, they’re some sort of yellow rose. Smell incredible, but even a slight bit of moisture and they vanish in days, and without that they’re still gone in a week or two. Albeit they do tend to keep blooming for a few weeks.
Well Halloween has come and gone and not one single trick or treater. So disappointed I normally wait behind the door with a big bowl of candy ready to jump out at the kids. This year I waited patiently with my flamethrower ready to jump out at the infected and not 1 damn visitor
We had a pretty neat Halloween. My wife found a map of houses to check out. So armed with Google maps in hand, we drove through our area just before the sun stated to go down. Not only did we find some beautiful areas we’d never seen before, there were some great decorations and tons of families out and about and was quite a community experience. Imagine that.
We had the windows of the car down and ended up smiling, waving and chatting with the locals. Lots of kids. Lots of parents. Lots of adults together, all dressed up. Everyone happy and laughing. A Bob Ross ffs. I asked him to paint me a happy little cloud.
All this with a salmon pink sky, mirrored in the ocean when we got to the coastline. Watched the last of the light and went home to get dinner going (and get drunk, which brings me to now).
That sounds pretty awesome Jefe. I knew we would not get any this year my area is the worst hit in England right now and we are under the tightest restrictions in the country.
To be honest we don’t tend to get many trick or treaters here on a normal year. Halloween here is not really a big thing like it is over there for you guys. I am 42 now and have never even been to a Halloween party (they are just not that common) for example and I used to be out partying all the time in my younger days. Most adults view it as a little kids holiday over here really.
So you guys know about the guy in Quebec City who hacked a couple random people with a katana on Halloween?
BBC had an article about it and provided this super duper helpful map to show you exactly where “the historic Old Quebec neighbourhood of the French-speaking capital of the Quebec province” is
So grateful for that inset so I could tell where North America was in relation to Greenland (you know, the thing Trump assumed he could buy)
Ok. I’ll help you out there with this more accurate map.
Taken from wiki.
The name " Québec ", which comes from the Algonquin or Ojibwe word kébec meaning “where the river narrows”, originally referred to the area around Quebec City where the Saint Lawrence River narrows to a cliff-lined gap
So on most map you can assume it’s the point where the St-Lawrence river “disappear”.
I see ‘Nasal Folksingers’ are not a phenomenon unique to the English after all - share and enjoy, I suppose? (Or ‘Chateau a son Gout’ as Michael Flanders famously quipped in polished Franglais)
Life has been hard this year. I am thinking of giving it up for new year. Don’t worry though I never stick to my new years resolutions for long, so I will probably be back quicker than Jesus.

Mind blown, movie-style:
its election night and i’m very afraid i thought things wouldn’t be this close.
hopefully i can laugh this off tomorrow or in the coming days.
Wrong thread.
I don’t think anyone will have the chance to laugh. certainly not tonight.
Well, I think I’ve finally found a support desk that frustrates me even more than 2K’s one does.
Who wants to guess which publisher it is?
I hear you on the first part of that, I still remember the weeks trying to fix Bioshock Infinite. As for your current preoccupation… Bethesda?
It has to be EA surely? You don’t win worst company in America 3 out of 5 years for nothing lol. They earned that ■■■■
They published Dragon age inquisition right? You been playing that a bit recently too, so yeah I am going with EA
