Definitely something to try, though I admit I thought you were peeling them in strips.
Mom used to spend the time to cut them down to strips, I was pressed for time and impatient. Plus, I like irregularly shaped food because it reminds me that it doesn’t come in neat shapes. To quote a line from Prometheus, “God doesn’t draw in straight lines.”
Well, probably the weirdest Christmas gift I’ve gotten. A goat and nineteen polio vaccines. Apparently I don’t even have to do the vaccinations myself!
Got a laugh out of me, and it was for a good cause.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!
I may not be as active as I used to be but I’ll still come around every once in a while!
Anyone play Hades? Doesn’t seem to be a lot of agreement on whether to use KB/M or controller.
“And do you want fries with that?”
Get it? Fries?
You know…Pompeii…Vesuvius…lava…
Another fresco depicts a dog on a leash, perhaps not unlike modern reminders to leash pets. Vulgar graffiti were inscribed on the painting’s frame.

Nothing changes, obviously.
Oh. Hey guys.
-sits down-
Well, that’s a thing. Merry Christmas Kitty.
I’m in a poor state to converse due to inebriation but we there’s a lot of catching up to do. A whole year. And not just any year.
Merry Christmas buddy. Nice to see you’re still here.
A hell of a year. But, at least we’re still here to tell the tales.
Nice to see you guys.
Before I go to bed I just wanted to say I had a pretty spectacular day.
Slept in. Coffee. Bacon and eggs with toast, brie and tomatoes.
Then off to the mountains with the wife and dog. Three and a half hour hike with 900m elevation gain, sun, fog, rain, mud. Back to the car completely exhausted and then home.
Early dinner of sausage, frikadeller (meatballs), leverpostej (pâté but more liver-y), red cabbage, cheese, raw veggies, rye bread smeared with duck fat and oranges. And four different homemade schnapps (skål!) and lots of porter.
Then coffee with Bailey’s and various Christmas sweets.
Then gløgg and a movie. Damn near scotch too but it was too much effort to get up.
Yes. For lack of a controller I use KB/M, but it’s not exactly a perfect setup. After switching the key bindings arould a little it’s alright.
Gotta love Montréal. Bike lanes are plowed and salted… For the sidewalk I suggest ice climbing spikes/boots.
Tell me one good thing, or more, that’s happened to you this year!
Got my CNC machinist diploma and…
turned 50. That’s good right?
Hell yea dude. Another successful revolution around the sun for our squishy delicate flesh bags is nothing short of an accomplishment. Here’s to another.
Hm, got fired due to corona, just to find a better job later in the year. Friends of mine finally became parents after years of trying and my daughter can almost homeschool herself while I guard the Gremlin (aka little brother).
I turned 40, though I hardly think that’s newsworthy. My daughter was born. Of course, 2020 being the dumpster fire it is my mother passed away 3 weeks later. But we recently moved into a house, as opposed to the apartment building where the crappy elevator left us stranded on the 7th floor for up to 2 weeks at a time. So a couple of ups and a massive down. But time flows onward, a river whose inexorable flow and power drives us into an uncertain future which we have some ability to guide. May we steer 2021 into calmer and more positive waters.
I hope you’ve been better than me, Kitty.
Also, I believe the Ramones said it best.
Much better than not turning 50 when you were supposed to!
It’s not a massive thing, but I did get a replacement bass amp for home which has some nice features. And discovered both David Bennett and Adam Neely on YouTube. I like being informed and inspired about music, as it’s such a nice distraction from the day-job when that gets rough.
Oh, can’t believe I forgot this one but: PAID OFF THE MORTGAGE!!
